The view alone is amazing. Worth just sitting on the patio and looking out without a care in the world. For some reasons I felt like I've been here before but I could be wrong. Being a member from their sister's winery, we were able to enjoy four tasting. The long weekend, we had the first tasting right when they opened. When we arrived, we literally were the first group there. Property itself is beautiful both with the staircase leading to the tasting room and the main tasting room. A nice Tuscan villa feel with the lounge area. You're able to have a tasting there but we were seated on the patio overlooking the million dollar view. Before hand, we were pours a nice chilled white to start and enjoy while they were getting our table ready. It was only a min or two till we were escorted out to the table. Just enjoying a nice tasting there was worth it. In the tasting menu, of course a mixture of the whites and red. Everything poured was excellent. Of course their Cabernet was delicious. The Geo Cab Sauvignon was a hit compared to the Abel which was delicious as well. Mid tasting, people started to trickle in which was nice to see others enjoying themselves. I didn't get the gentlemen name that took cared of us but he was sweet. The experience was great. The property was beautiful with the Tuscan vibe. Silverado Vineyards is set on a hilltop along the iconic Silverado Trail, with sweeping views of the Stags Leap District. As members of the Foley Connoisseurs Club, we enjoyed the complementary Members tasting -an experience that includes newly released and winery-exclusive wines. We brought two good friends, and the Tuscan inspired patio surrounded by vineyard and mountain views, was a perfect backdrop. Our host was knowledgeable about the wines made by winemaker, Alison Rodriguez. The reds were smooth, complex and well structured, beginning with a savory Cabernet Franc and ending with their bold flagship Cabernets: Geo and Solo. While the wines and setting were memorable, our tasting ended on a sour note. Our host who had been friendly and informative began to put pressure on us to purchase wine --we ultimately ordered four bottles. The situation became increasingly awkward when she said she couldn't find the email associated with our club membership, in front of our guests. Though we eventually resolved the issue and confirmed our membership, she continued to scold us in front of our guests to make future reservations only under our club-associated email, and miscommunicated about the club discount, adding to the general confusion. Silverado Vineyards offers beautiful surroundings and delicious wines, particularly their Cabs. However, better attention to communication and a softer approach to sales would help hospitality match the caliber of the wines. read more

Somewhere in the hazy corridors of memory, I recalled a visit to Silverado Vineyard. A pleasant enough experience, filed away in the mental archives under nice but unremarkable. That was then. This is now. Flash forward to 2025, and I'm standing at the gates of something altogether different--an experience I'll be talking about long after the last drop of wine has been poured. The wine? Fantastic. Bold, balanced, and far more reasonably priced than the overinflated juice peddled by its more pretentious neighbors. But the wine was only part of the story. This day belonged to James. What a special visit! We were greeted by James David, who served us a Welcome Sauv Blanc, such a lovely start to our day. We had a short, informative and interesting tour before being escorted to our tasting room. We enjoyed a relaxing and delicious tasting, along with a charcuterie of salamis, cheeses and olives from the property. Our favorites were the Sauvignon Blanc, the Cab Franc and the Abel. I used to be the largest retail customer of this vineyard of over 22 years of patronage. In 2022 after Foley Vineyards took over I went for a tasting and the catering manager was so rude that I was treated like a bad child for showing up at the wrong time. After being dressed down I decided right there there was no respect. I think the wines since Foley took over are a lesser product and they never made it right based on my experience so I never purchased again. read more

We did this winery last (of 3 total) and I thought that it was a bit less intimate. Big shout out to Beverly, the best concierge ever! She was extremely responsive when we called to make a reservation. Even on a holiday weekend, Beverly was able to lock us into an appointment for a tasting. She gave us our gate code and checked on us during our drive into Napa. We really appreciated the BIG parking stalls as we pulled up to the tasting room. They were very thoughtful and generous with free hand sanitizers and antibacterial wet wipes. Beverly greeted us warmly at the front door. We were escorted to our table on the patio. It was scenic, looking over acres and acres of vineyard. Beautiful location, tasting room and terraces. Wine is excellent even though not a Cab fan. Service was adequate. Very lukewarm greeting when we arrived, almost like we were an inconvenience. It was a beautiful day, 87 degrees and when we requested to sit on the terrace rather than indoors, we were told that it was against California law (effective 6/24/24) that service couldn't be provided if the temperature was over 85 degrees. I talked to 3 friends who work in the wine industry and none of them have ever heard of that law. Also, researched when I returned home and could find no information on that claim. I called 2 of the wineries we are members of and neither said that was the case. I believe it was because the servers didn't want to go outside and keep all guests in a central location to make service easier for them. Not very customer focused. Most likely won't return and definitely won't recommend. read more

We had a wonderful tasting experience here. I knew nothing about this vineyard when I made the reservation, so I was happily surprised by the beautiful views and peaceful patio area. We shared the patio with only 3 other groups, and it felt very private and personalized. Kelly the assistant manager RUINS this place. We have been members for four years and we're done. We love Frank and Beverly, they are fantastic. However, management doesn't care AT ALL about you. (Also.....$25 to 'taste' solo, no samplings allowed) We watched other members ask if they could just "view" the members area (there was an event later on) their server said yes. As they took two steps up, Kelly ran after them, literally screaming like a Chihuahua, making a massive seen that they were up there. No....there was nothing happening. The comical part is the member was so embarrassed he is cancelling (he did it already via phone) Also, don't expect them to say "thanks for being a member" or even remember that you are a member despite sustaining them during covid....they could care less. I will say, on a very positive note..... We were stopping by on our way up from LA and they did an amazing job of accommodating our time frame (we had to postpone by an hour). We did appreciate Katie taking care of us.....again, it's Kelly ruining this place. We asked for our allocation 2 days early and they said no, it's not there....were going to charge you the $20 for shipping. Also, we asked for an add on of 4 wines equalling about $400-$500 and they could care less. So, we're leaving with nothing and cancelling. Came here unplanned due to our cancelled reservations from Stag's Leap Wine cellar. The view is amazing, overlooking the vineyards. If it didn't rain on Black Friday, the view would have been more amazing especially with the fall colors. This winery is part of the Stag's Leap district. We tried a few of their Cabs and Chardonnay. I don't remember exactly what we tried that but we liked a few of the Reds and one of the whites. This is a winery I'd visit again. Ambiance is cozy, homey and chill. They have two different tastings, one is mostly reds for $45 and the other flight is $40 - we tried both. read more

Oh, Kelly... We had trouble getting a Lyft on Saturday and ended up arriving at 10:23 for our 10AM appointment. We called shortly before the 20 minute window expired and were met with extreme rudeness from Kelly, the operations manager. She explained to us that it was company protocol that they could not accept us. When we pulled into the lot, there were no other cars there, but they promised us it was full of people. They allowed us to change our reservation to Monday morning. On Monday, we arrived and they weren't ready for us until nearly fifteen minutes after our reservation. Our host wasn't available until nearly 45 minutes after our reservation and Kelly did the beginning of our experience herself. To be clear, our host was fantastic and did a much, much better job than Kelly with a way better vibe. The most angering part, though, was that the table next to us showed up nearly thirty minutes late and there were many open tables throughout our experience. Kelly is clearly on a power trip and is a stain on this winery's reputation. read more

We signed up for a private tasting/vineyard tour which was well-worth the time and money. We arrived a few minutes early and checked out the tasting room and out door patio/garden. As we were taking some photos our guide Scot introduced himself, took some photos for us, and then poured a tasty Chardonnay from their property. We then hopped in his truck and took an hour tour of the entire vineyard, stopping in various places to get out and inspect the vines and sample some of the grapes for comparison purposes. He gave us a first person account of the history of Napa, as he grew up here in the wine industry, the property and the wines we would be tasting. After circling the property we pulled up under a 300 year old oak where a table, chairs and glasses were already waiting for us. He brought up some cheese and charcuterie plates sourced from the valley and dispensed our tastings. Scot poured 5 of their excellent wines and we all pretty much agreed the 2013 Stag's was the best. Rich, deep, jammy and delicious, it's everything that wines from this terroir should express. We then headed back up to the main tasting room to sample a few more wines and place our orders. I was pleasantly surprised to see them offering a special on all large format sizes that were only 30% above the price of a 750 so I stocked up on some magnums. We certainly appreciated the tour and the wines. I would certainly come back. read more

I did not want to write this Yelp review. I emailed Silverado 48 hours ago separately about our experience and received no response. My husband and I left our tasting extremely unsatisfied. We paid for a romantic sunset experience for our wedding anniversary and received the complete opposite. The table to our left projectile vomited at the table, all over his tasting glass, then eventually in the vineyard-provided complimentary popcorn bag. The table to our right was playing music and had their own personal concert. Not only was the table to the left absolutely disgusting, but then he continued to be served alcohol instead of asked to leave or given more water. We have visited many times and will not order again, and do not plan to visit again. In addition, there were many times we were just sitting at the table with an empty glass for 10 minutes. An empty glass is not an issue. The issue is that the table next to us was still served alcohol after someone got sick at the table (literally at the table and visibly sick). Employees should be empowered by management to not serve customers alcohol who get sick... at a table... especially during a global pandemic. Should I be concerned that someone sitting near us was sick with COVID or just that they were over served then continued to be served if they had alcohol poisoning? We are in a pandemic with everyone on edge... and a person got sick at a table next to us and the person was able to continue to sit (and drink wine) at the table. It is not okay and not safe for customers. Lastly, we told our pourer that we live in Washington, DC and the first thing he asked was if we went to the January 6th, 2021 Capitol Insurrection. This comment was absolutely inappropriate and it's sad this is the last thing I'm commenting on versus the first. Unfortunately, Silverado lost our business today and we will no longer be customers of Silverado, which is heartbreaking because we do enjoy the wine. On my second trip to Napa, I knew I had to get to Silverado. I had wanted to go there during my first visit in March of 2017, but at $60/tasting, I knew my boyfriend at the time wouldn't agree with that. But c'mon, being a mega Disney fan who also loves wine made this #1 on my list! (For those who don't know, Walt Disney's daughter, Diane, is co-founder of this winery). Alas, on my second trip, I was going with my sister. I warned her in advance of the price point which she didn't seem to mind (and let's be honest, even if she did, I would have covered for her.) I made reservations about a week in advance. I selected The Silverado Experience which as stated above was $60/person. I went back and forth on if I should make reservations or not. We were there in March and had planned to go there on a weekday, so it wasn't going to be crowded. I knew it would be cheaper to just do a walk-in tasting. But given that I missed out on Silverado last time, I didn't want to chance it. I'm glad I did the reservation as it includes a ~15 minute tour and history along with a seated tasting. After all, I needed the history to get some of that Disney magic! Out tour guide was Leslie and she was nice and knowledgeable. Luckily for us, it was just my sister and I on the tour which made it intimate and fun. Leslie has been there at least a few years and referenced Ron Miller (co-founder and Diane Disney Miller's husband) who had passed away just a few months prior. The way she spoke of him made me feel like he was very present and very much admired by the staff. Leslie took us on a tour of the grounds, which houses endless artwork from Diane Disney Miller's personal collection. So many beautiful pieces, a few of which were drawn by Disney artists. My personal favorite was a poster proposal for the film Ratatouille. Leslie told us that it got rejected because it showed a rat drinking from a wine bottle (keep in mind, it's a kids movie). Great story behind it is that she told us it was actually stolen off the Silverado grounds and eventually returned by a very embarrassed guest. Ouch! Kinda funny though! Leslie also took us outside and let me tell you....these views are some of the most breathtaking you will see in all of Napa! Just absolutely stunning, rolling green hills...another big reason why I wanted to come here! I could have sat out there all day! (Although it was a tad chilly in early March!). She even pointed out Lillian Disney's (Walt's wife) former home in the distance. Our tasting was inside, although I would have preferred an outside seated tasting with heat warmers (similar to Duckhorn). But we still had great views via the window. The tasting consisted of 4 tastings total (definitely pricey for $60!!!): 2017 Chardonnay; 2016 Fantasia, Cab and Sangiovese Blend; 2013 Cab; and 2012 SOLO Cab. All very good. Leslie also offered us a tasting of their Red Zinfandel. My sister and I were both surprised by how much we liked it and to be honest, neither of us knew that ZIns could be red! At the end, Leslie offered us another pour of one that we liked. So all told, with 6 tastings, it was still pretty pricey, but good. Afterwards, we went back on the terrace to snap a few pictures. Man, the views are just breathtaking. Luckily for us, there was only one other couple out there, so it was just so serene and peaceful and I loved taking it all in. Might be a different experience during peak season. All in all, I definitely liked Silverado and would go back; however, now that I've been on the tour and done a reserved tasting, I'd opt next time for just a walk in. However, great to splurge on, especially for us big Disney fans! read more

My husband and I had the best time visiting Silverado Vineyards. From the moment we arrived, we could tell great care was taken to make our experience special and comfortable. I don't recall the front desk lady's name, but she was great and made us feel welcome immediately. We were offered complimentary hand sanitizers and a "welcome splash" of rosè since we were early. Such nice touches. Our host, Leslie, then greeted us. Her candor and friendly demeanor made the experience approachable and relaxing. She encouraged us to ask questions and look around. We are big Disney fans and she shared some fun facts about the property and family history, which we really enjoyed. I'm not sure if it's still COVID protocols or what, but we were one of the only groups there. I was surprised! It was nice and quiet compared to the next place we went. We had a nice tasting at Silverado, especially the Cabernet Sauvignons that we had. There is a nice variety of wines, and they do pour a decent amount. Our server was not very knowledgeable, however, and in some ways spoke more about her than the wine. Also, we ordered the charcuterie platter for 4, and it was very, very small for the $75! I would not recommend it -- spend the money on a bottle of wine, or go to a place for lunch. But, avoid the platter! read more

Beautiful Winery Atop A Small (Sorceror's Apprentice) Mountain [Note: Fantasia-like Centaurs & Hippos won't be found on premises] ;) SITREP Okay. Not really a (Soceror's Apprentice) Mountain, but a cute largish hill on the Silverado Trail side of the Napa Valley. In fact, the winery name is "Silverado" as if some magic pixie dust from the Silverado Trail itself will sprinkle it's good will onto the winery and it's patrons. And why shouldn't it be magical? This winery is colloquially known as the "Disney" Winery because it is owned by the Disney Family. [Though I don't recall ever seeing my favorite animated mouse drinking a glass of wine.... hmmm.] THE SETUP The winery is a beautiful structure, smooth rocks and colorful hues, with elegant decor and one of the most awesome open-window views of the Napa Valley. It is just a delight to grab a glass of wine, traipse to the wall of the patio, and enjoy a gorgeous view overlooking the Silverado Trail side of Napa Valley. THE WINE When I'm looking at the cost per bottle of wine at other estates (admittedly fantastic wineries, but) for over $200, that's just not accessible to ME (if anything, Trader Joe's has spoiled me on it's Two-Buck-Chuck). But Silverado has at least a couple wines that ARE accessible: * Their delicious 2009 Mt. George Merlot for $35 (sometimes less per bottle when purchased in volume with friends or they are running a special promotion), and so for me this is that "special bottle" purchase that I can take home today from Napa Valley and feel like I got something worthwhile on my wine-tasting trip. * And along these lines, their 2009 Estate Cabernet Sauvignon is another fine bottle if your taste in reds goes towards a bit more full-bodied, and richer in tannins (which mine tastes don't). ESTATE BLENDING One of the best educations I've ever received in "wine estate blending" came from the wine ambassador George at this winery. He took time to explain to me how not only are the varietals different, but the same varietal from different estates can express some different notes on tasting. For example, on my bottle of 2009 Mt. George Merlot, the wine not only represented a 95% blend Merlot contribution from the Mt. George estate, but also a 5% blend Merlot contribution from the Stags Leap estate. There is something about the blending process that helps tone down some of the more erratic notes of each single location varietal. And I have absolutely loved Silverado Vineyards since because of their wonderful education for me in the world of vintology. HOLIDAY MAGIC Each season at Silverado Vineyards (and I've been lucky to have visited during the 3 distinct seasons of Spring, Summer and Autumn) is it's own special occasion to see Holiday decor and enjoy a different aspect of the wine-making process. Driving up the winding road that led to the winery, we were able to admire the landscape of Napa Valley. Great view from the patio too. The atmosphere inside was lively and casual. It almost felt like a tourist stop. Servers were friendly, but they were spread thin. The tasting bar was small and crowded. At least they let us wander around with our tasting glasses. Unfortunately, we did not enjoy our estate tasting. The sauvignon blanc, sangiovese, merlot and cabernet sauvignon were all blends of different wines. The main reason we decided to come here is that we heard that this was owned by the Disney family. Me, being a huge Disney fan decided to give this place a shot. I had been to the Lassester Winery and that one was able to give you a touch of personal magic. This location didn't quite reach the same heights. It's a a great location atop a nice little hill with great views. So if wine and views are your thing then this is the place to go. The wines were pretty average and didn't really make me want to fly or soar or go on any kind of adventure. Not bad, but nothing great. They have a huge staff and they were very friendly, but a huge portion of the estate is cut off only for members. Not much in Disney related things either. Not a bad winery per say, but not magical either. Still, I'd advise going here at least once, but for true Disney lovers, head over to the Lassester winery. read more

Kyle from Clos Du Val recommended that we come here for their fabulous views. And boy, was he right! Set up on a hill, their views were spectacular and the wine was great as well! Ray poured our tastings and we quickly learned that he had lived in Scottsdale a few years back. We love meeting fellow Zonies! He took amazing care of us and even gave us a private tour of their barrel room. What a fun surprise! On our first stop of the day from the Napa Valley Wine Train, we came to Silverado and it was a beautiful start. The views from the patio that overview their vineyards were beautiful. I was especially excited for this winery when I learned it was part of the Disney family. We were greeted by Patricia and Kelsey when we arrived. Patricia was very enthusiastic and passionate about the winery. We learned about the history of the vineyard and how Lillian Disney came about to building and establishing herself in Napa. It was very interesting and cool to see all of the artwork throughout the place. The vineyards themselves is interesting because they're shared with Stag's Leap Wine Cellar which also differentiates the varietals they make. Once the tour was over and we were up for the tasting, I am a fan of their malbec and red blend. Overall, it was a pleasant experience and enjoyed our visit here. Understated elegance in gorgeous surroundings, the Silverado might just be my new favorite place in #Napa. Friendly service in the tasting room without any pushy vibe. It really just feels like a bunch of friends sipping and swirling some of the most palate pleasing wine in the world. 07.22.2016 Kristina was knowledgeable and patient with us wine tasting virgins. Delicious blends of grapes from their various vineyards created well-blended tastes. The Rosato is one of my favorites, light like a "sit on the porch in the summer and relax" drink. I think it would make a wonderful sangria! We left with three bottles of the Rosato! I think we will be back for more of those. Did you know this vineyard is owned by Walt Disney's oldest biological child and her husband--Diane Disney Miller? We saw an original signed Norman Rockwell poster to Walt Disney. read more
