Came here on a Thursday lunch and it wasn't busy at all. Ordered on dash pass and When i got here the order was just being made. The food was good, a little too much white sauce though. Ordered half chicken half lamb. The size was good and the hot sauce made it perfect. Its not that big of a place but there are a couple of seats. The place was pretty clean and pleasant. They are always extremely kind, generous, and reliable. They take good care of their regulars, especially Kalim, I've watched their prices go from 6.99 a platter to 9.99 a platter and I can only hope that they increase the employee pay with the menu items. I drive an extra 20 Mins to go to this specific location because of how welcoming they are. Something I'd like to see improve, they need to add a tip option to their credit card machine. They have a cash jar for tips but I never carry cash on me and they deserve to be compensated for excellent customer service. read more

The meat was super tender & VERY well seasoned. Gyro Combo (Chicken/Lamb) 4/5, as already mentioned above, this was delicious. Tons of meat and a really nice portion of sauce and fillers. Only reason it's a 4 star review is because it was really messy due to the way it was wrapped..or not wrapped, it was more of a taco so eating this in the car proved to be quite difficult. I may be late to the whole halal chicken and rice party, but my curiosity got the best of me so much so that I had to try Shah's Halal Food in Commack. I realize that this probably isn't the more well known chicken and rice establishment from NYC, but thought to try it out to get an overall sense of what this food is all about. Walking into the place, it was very clean and brightly lit, and the counter set up is reminiscent of something like Moe's, Chipotle, etc.: Steamer trays filled with assorted items and you pick and choose what you want on your dish. They are known for their platters which consist of a base of basmati rice, and you pick your protein of chicken, lamb, falafel, Kofta kebab, fish, or a combination of items. I decided to go with chicken and lamb, and as for the toppings, I went with a cucumber salad, iceberg lettuce, chickpeas, hummus, and all of that was baptized by their white sauce. (I've been told to get the hot sauce as well next time) Sorry for the poor photos but hopefully you can see how packed the take away tin was packed. With something like this, I would have preferred to have it all blended and tossed together like a salad, but I basically had to eat through layers, mix things together, go through another later, etc. Despite all that food shuffling around, I thought that the rice, chicken and lamb was quite tasty. I had to try a non sauced bite of chicken, lamb, lamb and chicken of course at first before I went to mix it all together and it was flavorful. They also offer this in a pita as a gyro, so if rice isn't your carb of choice, you have options, including no carbs and having this over a bed of salad of your choice. Other food items include a cheeseburger, chicken sandwich, chicken Philly or classic Philly cheesesteak. This was quite filling that I've saved half of this for leftovers tomorrow and the best part is that the platter was like $8. Got a Snapple for my drink and the total was $11 and change. If there was one thing that didn't hit home to me is that I found some bits of the lamb was perhaps over cooked so it had like a crunchy, meat crouton sort of texture to it but it wasn't that big of a deal overall. Overall rating and experience, I'd give this 4/5 falafels: a solid place if you want something slightly different than other fast casual establishments, I think this was a great value for what you get at the price point. read more

Food is good and very reasonably priced, we got a little bit of everything to try out. The best was the kofta and the falafels. The sauces are yummy too. Everything was ready by the time we arrived for pick up. Inside is pretty basic, clean and well kept but deff more of a take out spot. Me and 2 other coworkers decided to order from here for lunch. Before placing our order I called this location to ask if anything was gluten free. When I called and asked the man sounded confused and had no idea what gluten was. I asked if I could speak to someone else and he hung up the phone. I called back 2 times and no answer. Went in on opening day and there was quite a queue. We got a combo and a falafel platter. Service was fast and the food was good. I did expect the same from Shah's, didn't disappoint at all. Loved the flavors and taste of the platter. I got almost all of the additional salads, chickpeas and hummus on my platter. They were fresh and were a good accompaniment to the meat/falafel and rice.
