Classic acai spot. No complaints. Acai didn't taste like it had much added sugar which is a plus. Only two people working, but wasn't busy at all so it was relatively quick service. They had outdoor seating which we enjoyed!

This was a nice casual spot for a healthy breakfast or lunch. There is seating both inside and outside.

Super basic tacos n coffee.. was referred by local nearby business to get açaí bowls but hungry after a workout class and thought to give tacos a try and just like other reviews the sauce on top was the flavor and actually a bit too much that it overpowered everything. I've been to Hawaii and this didn't bring me back.. Pork was tender and no flavor, chicken dry and bbq jackfruit ok. I will give them another try on açaí bowls since that's all i sellae people walking out with 2 stars because the staff was courteous. Shaka Latte just tasted like regular coffee with lots of cinnamon.

***EDITED*** My fiancé and I have been to Shaka several times... whenever his craving for a poke bowl inevitably comes up. I don't typically go for the poke bowls... instead I opt for the lava rock shrimp tacos. They come with a nice topping of crispy cabbage and a generous dressing of the spicy Shaka sauce (which is like a spicy mayo). Definitely recommend! We also like the avocado egg rolls as an appetizer. Crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside! Comes with the spicy mayo sauce too. We experienced a problem the other night (where the salmon was left out of our salmon poke bowl) but this problem has been promptly resolved after communicating with the business owner. I was advised to reach out via the Shaka website about any feedback- response time is fast!

Our family has been customers since Shaka opened--we are very grateful for the staff, positive energy, and food/drink options at both locations. Our favorite food item is the tacos, followed closely by chips & guac. For drinks we usually get the happy Hawaiian smoothie, but the summer watermelon special is also a favorite. Also love the smoothie that's for coffee in it!! We are very grateful to have this business as neighbors & friends!

    Awesome poke bowl!!!

This spot is tucked away in the Monroe Center but the food definitely speaks for itself. I liked the poke bowl with a whole bunch of toppings. I won't bore you with what I got but rvery topping was fresh which is important. I always prefer the toppings that are crunchy like the wonton chips, crispy onions, and edamame. The sauces also worked but I wish they put more sauce on. My wife got the chicken bowl since she is pregnant and can't eat raw fish. She wasn't the biggest fan of it so I would stick to the poke here. All in all, it is a solid choice. Poke bowls seemed to really have taken off the last few years and this is a place that does it right. Check it out.

First and foremost just want to say Shaka bowl is a must go to if you're feeling hungry. This little shop tucked away in Monroe is one of my favorites. I usually go for the tacos cause they are to die for, but today I went with some friends and we opted to go for Mauna Kea Tuna bowl and a spicy salmon bowl and we were not disappointed at all. This dish had everything from flavor to presentation and it just bursted off your tastebuds. The staff is very friendly and seem to enjoy what they do and the results show for themselves. I highly recommend Shaka bowl to anyone who walks by and is looking to grab a bite to eat, and me and my friends will definitely be coming back for more!!! Keep up the good work, Great environment=Great Food

The food choices in West Hoboken continue to grow, and Shaka Bowl is another welcome addition. I've visited twice and tried various ingredients in my customized poke bowl. You receive a generous portion for $14, with plenty of protein, so definitely come hungry or be prepared to take some home. Everything tasted fresh and of good quality, only note might be the blackened chicken was a bit bland. The servers/preparers are very professional. Both the food service and the seating areas are kept very clean. It's a small place and ten people could make it feel crowded, although there are a few, small outdoor tables for the nice weather. Shaka Bowl has a loyalty card where you can eventually earn a free item. The hours are excellent, open for early morning coffee and oatmeal, straight through to lunch and dinner. Acai bowls, smoothies, and frozen yogurt are also popular choices. I highly recommend supporting this small business providing the west side of Hoboken with great, healthy food choices.

This is an amazing additional to the hoboken food scene. I am utterly obsessed with the vegan funfetti cookie (and im far from vegan). The poke bowls they have are always fresh and amazing. The salmon peanut bowl is my favorite. I havent had a lot of smoothies here just because they arent my thing, but ive had some sips here and there and they are also amazing. Def recommend going here when u want a healthy filling meal or snack. Their bowls come in two sizes which is convenient when i just want to have a small dinner

Worst poke bowl I've ever had. The fish tasted slimy and warm. The rice was not thoroughly cooked through / tasted a few days old. I couldn't even finish the meal bc I got grossed out while eating the mushy texture. Would not come back.

    Leslie R.

I've been trying to find a good poke bowl around the area and came across this place and my prayers have been answered! Definitely recommend It looks to me that the small size poke bowl wasn't going to be enough for me so I decided to go with the large but I couldn't even finish it. A small is enough for you to eat and I didn't feel overstuffed or gross after eating the bowl which made me very happy. With the large you're allowed unlimited sides so that's awesome. If you get the small you're limited to 5 but even that is just the right amount. The only thing I will say is it needs just a little more flavor, I got the teriyaki sauce but seemed too much like soy sauce. Regardless the place was good!

There was only one other family dining, and the space stayed empty the entire time. The service was genuinely great. Friendly staff, welcoming atmosphere, and a really cute, cozy space. I especially loved the Christmas décor and overall vibe--it felt warm and inviting. Unfortunately, the food didn't quite live up to the prices. The house salad was $13 and honestly one of the most basic, smallest, and most boring salads I've ever had--very underwhelming for the cost. We also ordered quesadillas, a cheeseburger with fries, and grilled cheese with tomato soup. My son enjoyed the burger and fries, and the quesadillas were flavorful, generously filled with chicken and veggies, and came with sour cream, pico, and guac. The tomato soup was tasty, while the grilled cheese was just okay. One small but appreciated detail: canned soda. Cold, crisp, and not flat which is always a win. Lunch for 3 came in just under $100, which felt high given what we received. One frustration was being seated in a tight corner right next to the kitchen even though the dining room was completely empty. We were so close I could literally see into the kitchen and count items on the shelves. On top of that, the hostess repeatedly walked by calling out "corner," which became distracting and honestly a bit irritating. Overall, I liked the vibe, but the food-to-price ratio missed the mark for me. It wasn't bad--just alright.

I had also been glad to see that they had a reasonable amount of seating; Hoboken has no shortage of coffeeshops, but few of them have comfortable seating options. At that first visit, I had ordered a Golden Latte, which I had enjoyed, but found very overpriced for a small takeout cup. So, I had not rushed back there for a while. However, I recently met a friend for coffee and found my giant, dine-in mug of cappuccino with almond milk reasonable at its ~$6.50 cost. My drink was creamy, rich, and delicious. I was also thrilled that we were able to get a table on a Saturday afternoon, though we both found the service inconsistent, as it went from overbearing to avoidant. However, it was still friendly and not something that would prevent me from returning. Overall, Bluestone Lane's cozy cafe atmosphere and tasty beverages made it a great place to grab a brew. While we were seated inside almost immediately, we waited almost 20 minutes for a server to come check in with us. Ordered the nutella donuts, eggs any style, french toast and bacon benedict, along with the Jalisco Flower and Bloody Maria. The brunch cocktails were a highlight of our meal. Had things gone better, we would have had another round. The donuts came out shockingly fast. However, they were incredibly dense, and the nutella sauce was extremely watered down and more of a generic chocolate sauce. The french toast and bacon benedict was perplexing. Benedicts traditionally come with hollandaise sauce- none to be found here. There was also an overwhelming amount of coconut on the french toast, which was not disclosed in the entree description. Other french toast descriptions advertise a coconut butter - this was not a butter consistency, but rather a layer of mushy shredded coconut on top. The watered down nutella sauce ended up being a nice sauce for the french toast. It was pretty warm and cramped in the area we were sitting. Our server never came back to refill our water during our meal. For over $100 (including tip) for brunch for 2, there seem to be better places in Hoboken to have a boozy brunch.
