Coming into the Sinclair station at Grandview and Foote in Idaho Falls, I couldn't help but feel like I was about to dock at Jurassic Island. I mean, the big green Sinclair Dino standing high on Shaka's Tiki Island theme is for some, absolutely cinematic. Sitting right where Skyline runs out airport shuttles, and FedEx trucks, while also being at the 15 East and West & 20 North and South lanes (fitting the nickname Shaka's Country Lanes, though this might have more to do with surfing lines/lanes, idk, fits either way), the Sinclair has a high enough canopy to fit at least bobtail trucks, along with everything you need to get back on the road, from windshield cleaner to air compressor. To finish off a travelers vehicle needs, Is all your fluids and air fresheners inside Shaka's Oasis convenience store and deli. This store is very cool and a completely realistic atmosphere of its theme. When shopping the aisles; getting everything you could need to continue your road trip, stock up your game night needs, or even just grab a snack prepare to rummage through the island jungle. This little place is just PACKED with your typicals, and items rarely found in other stores. If you're into trying something new, definitely come here, you'll probably find it. There is no way to forget that you are at Shaka's, like rare and exotic creatures, the items seem indigenous to the store. The Tiki vibe hovers all around you, as you navigate your way back to the "Tiki Hut" located in the store. (Not sure if they call it that, but I do). They have a little kitchen set up for serving up some pretty yummy Made-to order foods, and a small dining counter. Here you can get caloried up, man! I am known to put away quite a bit of food for my size (got breathing issues, constantly burning calories, yet I stay pretty active). I usually order two main entree pieces, and a side, dessert, or both. We visited specifically Shaka's Hut for breakfast the other day. I ordered a breakfast burrito, a turkey wrap, and had a little strawberry cream cheese cookie from a display case of crafted treats (Pretty sure these are brought in from another location). OMGosh! That burrito was glorious. Needed both hands to hold it. The sausage was delicious, the eggs taste fresh cracked, and the Pepper Jack was nutty and and a little zesty just like it's supposed to be. That cookie; whoever makes it, should be enlisted to award them to gold medal Olympians! I mean this was a delicious creamy sweet crumbly little thing. I want to take it home and name it. Then I had this massive amount of turkey deli meat & cheese all fluffed up with lettuce, and smoothed out with, I think Ranch. Uhmm--I wasted money. After I got my food and I saw the size, I gave half of my turkey wrap away to a gentleman waiting for his own order. I still went full tilt before I could eat everything. This is getting pretty long so, like the tortilla around the turkey I'm going to have to wrap it up. You won't be disappointed going to Shaka's. They have regularly scheduled promotions, and specials. The staff is super friendly, great people. This is a place you can tell; the owner and staff all love their island. 7*s. read more

I have driven by here many times, never stopped in until today. The only place in Idaho Falls that serves gyros, which I love. The version they serve has the traditional lamb and beef, tzatziki, feta, onions and tomatoes.tasty and quick. The people that work here are exceptionally nice. We had driven from MN and stopped for lunch, gas, rest rooms. Very friendly, , clean bathrooms, quick and good value food. Then I thought I misplaced my wallet. They were SOOO quick and helpful, reviewing video to find out what happened. The manager and assistants at the food service immediately acted. The wallet was in my possession as it turned out, much to my embarrassment but I will long remember their kindness and quick help. read more

I'm giving them a 3 star because their interior was clean and very non-gas station-esque. Bathrooms were clean and felt more like higher end restaurant restrooms. Great selection in foods and staff was kind. Why not 5 stars you may ask? Well we purchased the nifty shakes from their machine and noticed as we got on the freeway they expired in January of 2019....its May 2019 now. Maybe it's ok, but it tasted rotten. When you're on a road trip and you stop for snacks....all the selection in the world doesn't matter if your food is rotten. I hope it's an isolated incident. There sandwiches use to be really good but in the last year each time I have ordered one the have been getting worse. I decided to give them a shot and ordered just a regular cheeseburger. They we're out of some of the normal topping and I am not a fan of tomatoes. So all it was was the hambuger patty, piece of cheese, ketchup, mayo and the bun. The hamburger patty was still cold from refrigeration. I think I am done with their sandwich hut. I have nothing negative to say about the staff they are always friendly, it is just their hot food that has gone down hill while the prices have increased. read more

This was the best place to get sandwiches until today. Apparently they are under new management now and got rid of the computers you use to order the sandwiches. Now you have to try and remember what's supposed to be on the sandwich you have ordered for 3 years because the new guy has no idea what's "supposed" to be on it. i love this place! i am from long beach california and went to idaho falls to visit somebody. i was supposed to stay for a couple weeks but was not having a good time. was put out in the freezing weather in the middle of the night. walked for 2 hours freezing to the airport. i was stuck in the airport with no ticket. was told to walk just right up the street to catch a bus back to california. it was an awful walk up a long hill. but let me tell you....it all got good from there. i walked into shaka's. got my bus ticket right next to shaka's. shaka's had great food with so many things to choose from. its super clean. bernadette welcomed me and made me so much better. i could relax. i had to wait 24 hrs for my bus, i was tired and jarron actually came back after his shift and him and his girlfriend took me to thier home and offered me a nice bed to sleep. i couldnt believe it. the hospitality of the shaka's employees was the best i think i have ever seen! long story short...shaka's was the best part of my whole trip too idaho falls! seriously! thank you shaka's!! you saved the day! read more

I get dropped off here from Salt Lake Express buses and wait to get picked up by my sister. There's a small bus waiting station next door to the store and gas station. There's a little cafe in the gas station that is always closed by the time I get there. You see an eclectic group of people coming through here due to the bus station. When you see a very attractive male standing with a duffle bag among the typical riff raff it's probably me. This place is pretty typical though, it has what you would expect a gas station to have...lot's of dirty toilets. read more

Love this place! It's always clean and well stocked. The fresh made sandwiches are amazing! Ordering from the kiosk is easy. The candy and drink selections are too numerous to count, so you'll be able to please everyone you bring. The hot case and the Healthy Choices cooler are among the favorite spots for my kids to choose out of. read more

Don't order the food from the grill!!!! They try to charge you more than the posted prices. The MGR said that since he started the food I was responsible for paying. Also charge more for certain bread types. Wow what a way to run a business. read more

Just ordered a gyro on one of our Greyhound stops. We only had a 10 minute stop. Food came quick and gyro was pretty decent given this is a gas station. Since this is not a sit down restaurant, the food exceeded my expectations. read more

I could count faster than these pumps pump gas. Took us twenty minutes to pump 7 gallons.

I was on my way back up to school when I made a pit stop here now i haven't stopped in around two hours and let's just say nature was calling me and really spamming my phone. Well I rushed to the restroom and the clerk stopped me by treating me like a child. Then she let someone else in the restroom who was of the opposite gender. Say what you will but I believe we are all adults just wanting to do our business and leave that's how bathrooms work last time I checked. Anyway I was in complete shock and so what the person behind me where they said something to the clerk. I had kept my mouth shut. After answering my call i tried to go to the clerk and tell her that I did not say anything however I am upset because I had not been able to stop to use the restroom and really had to go and she held me and many others up. Instead she kicks me out of the store and calls me a shit faced. Moral of the story dont go here your money is spent much better elsewhere and bathrooms can be much better. read more

This place is wonderful. Excellent people working the counters, fabulous food. For Ms. San Diego - if gas isn't pumping fast enough, release the handle, wait 10 seconds and restart. I used to work at a gas station and it works. I would recommend Shaka's to everyone! read more
