Given we had never been there, we took sometime to look through the menu and decide what we were ordering. One of my family members asked the man if she could have an individual brownie on top of the milkshake we ordered, and he said "No" very rudely. I ordered the cotton candy strawberry shake to go to split with a friend, it was listed as $10.88 and then I got charged $13.88. I then proceeded to wait for 30 minutes for my shake, the couple ahead of me waited for 52 minutes. The staff was nice however the wait was very long for a shake to go. I wanted to love this place. The milkshakes look great even in person. I didn't even mind waiting outside for 20 minutes before I could enter or even paying $30+tip for 2 milkshakes that were to-go. The problem was that I literally had to refill my parking meter because the wait for 2 milkshakes was over an hour! Honestly if I could give this place 0 stars I would. After waiting in line for an hour before outside we saw a couple people walk out so we walked in, right away the girl working there didn't say anything other than we're at mass capacity right now so you have to wait outside. We weren't going to get a table we wanted it to go anyway. There were people going in before and they didn't have a problem with that but when they see a group of Asians walk in they're at "full capacity". We waited outside when it was 10° with their sign that said open, very large line outside the door. They let in everyone in front of us. We waited outside as there is a capacity. Several employees walked by without speaking to us. Eventually a woman came out and rudely said we are only open for 40 more minutes so we can't let you in (even though there are two tables not being used), and that they're closing for the night.. Never got to try it but they did leave their open sign out and we watched several people wait in line after us. Poor management & customer service. Waited in line for forty minutes with about 12 people in front of us in line. We had to wait outside in the cold. One family of six had to pay separately becuase they weren't allowed to all enter together because of COVID. Before we gave up and left, we asked the woman at the front of the line how long she was waiting. (1 hour 30 minutes). These people need to open up a carry out option line or they will lose their business. I watched at least 8 people leave the line while I was there. Trash customers service for a mediocre shake. Waited in line for two hours to go inside for them to mix up the orders then tell me I ordered the wrong thing? They don't take your name or give you a number and just say the shake you got which is fine unless someone after you magically gets their drink before you and then you have multiple people confused on who's drink is whose. Went up to ask where my drink was and the worker just stood there looking around like he didn't see me until I said something. That's when another employee said the drink had already been said but I never heard it. Maybe get someone to call out the drinks more clearly? In sales, you never say the customer is wrong and if there was a mistake somewhere, work with the customer instead of saying it's their fault? Sure the shakes are pretty. Unfortunately I was denied the chance to actually taste one myself last night at 9 pm, when the shop closed its doors on 5 customers an hour before closing, because they were "at capacity" and were "not taking anymore orders because the online orders were too high in abundance". The worker sharply said "try again tomorrow" and closed and locked the door. Granted, it is covid and I understand capacity limits, but instead of rudely turning down 5 present and available paying costumers after letting them wait at the door without a glance for 10 minutes prior, try a different approach. Maybe put up a sign that lets costumers know you've decided to close up shop an hour early without telling anyone? Be kinder to those waiting outside in the freezing cold? Give them a chance to ask questions and comment on your rude "get out" shpeel before slamming the door in their face? Try caring for customers face to face, not the lazy ones that demand their orders through online ordering. Those present and willing to give you their money to sit down with a pretty milkshake in person, and enjoy it fresh, deserve more than you're anonymous online orders. It tasted very good and was aesthetically pleasing of course our shake was very thin almost like the consistency of milk . The music was very loud so I felt like I was yelling most of the time I was in there. They employee asked if we were going to drink our shake inside or at the outdoor seating and we said outside and he said okay. They didn't open until almost 20 minutes past when they are supposed to. We then waited 45 minutes for an $11 milkshake. The quality of the milkshake was similar to McDonald's, definitely not worth the price. Save yourself some time and money and just go to Steak 'n Shake. Store closes at 10pm. I saw the other reviews of the store closing early and opening late due to high volume. We came in a little before 9:15pm and they told us not to come in because they have already accepted their last customer. I feel bad for the employees because they seem to be understaffed, but one was a little rude when kicking us out. Whoever is managing this place needs to fix this ASAP as most of the yelp reviews are one star because of the same reason. Also wondering why they did not lock the door if they were taking in no more customers. I wish there was a way to know if it was going to close down an hour early before I drove all the way to show up. Maybe they could let us know if they are going to close early on their website? Terrible customer service! I waited 10 minutes to even be able to walk in and then waited another 15 min for the milkshake to be even made. This isn't the main reason for this review because it's popular new spot and that was kind of expected but if you're going to wait this long you expect some decent customer service. The milkshake was $14.90 and was as thick as gallon of whole milk. When I asked for my milkshake to be made thicker I received a very rude response. Not only that the employees that were making orders did not wear any gloves. They used the same hands to take money from customers, clean, and touch on their headphones/cellular devices then touched cookies and make milkshakes with their barehands.
