Shake Shack ran out of so many things at the game. We ordered what we thought were two combo patty burgers with meat and mushroom. Nope! Portobella patties only - so seriously, where's the beef!?!? They also ran out of hot dogs and drink cups. The cherry on top was that they forgot our order. The cashier failed to give us the receipt, so we couldn't show what we purchased. They were able to find the transaction on the original register, yet it was a hot mess for everyone trying to get food between around the 6th inning on Father's Day. At least they gave our kiddo a burger instead of the hot dog, and they found a stack of 5 cups somewhere back there so we got our drink. I don't know the name of the tall, older gentleman guiding people at the front of the line to registers, yet he was the real MVP. He was out there in the thick of it, and he remained calm, composed, and welcoming. He gets is own star and deserves a huge raise. read more

Astro-logically speaking this is one of the best teams out there. Considering Houston is the 4th city of America, a huge market and one which likes sports as much as the next town (to some degree), it doesn't have a marquee team that everyone here loves. The Astros have, more than any other, emerged as that team. They're very beloved by the Latin community because of people like Altuve, and because of bringing championships to Houston, a city that needs and deserves them more than most. Before I review, let me preface it with this: I am a huge Shake Shack fan. My first time here, the service was decent and food was good, but not Shake Shack good. Their menu is limited in regards to one of my favorite items, i.e no chocolate custard and only one type of concrete. This time, I went for a Tuesday night Astros game. The ballpark was not busy at all. The line was super slow, but moving. All of a sudden right before it is my turn, the lady filling the orders starts screaming at everyone, "no new tickets, no new tickets!" Seriously you are shutting it down? There was hardly anyone in line anymore. The girl at the register would not look me in the eyes and is just standing there. So are all the other register people. They were not helping The situation at all. The line expo is still freaking out. I had already waited so long, but I had paid to see under Astros play. Time is valuable at the ballpark and clearly Shake Shack doesn't get it. Shake Shack is my all time favorite fast-food place to satisfy by burger cravings. My go-to order is the 'Shroom Burger with fries and a side of cheese sauce. I love the burger because the mushroom "patty" is so unique. It's crunchy, and the gooey, stretchy cheese leaves you coming back for more. The fries are crispy and go perfectly with the cheese sauce. I also ordered the Astro Blast shake, and it was decent. It was basically a cookies and cream milkshake with m&m chocolate candies mixed in. It's a Shake Shack and even for a stadium with long lines, they still put out quality burgers and fries. It's definitely the best option to go if you are willing to wait a little because the prices are only a little more than any other Shake Shack. For comparison, the single Shack Burger here is $6.75 vs $5.39 at Galleria. Compared to the food at the other concessions it's worth the better quality! It is located behind the Budweiser Patio on the 100 level, under Torchy's Tacos and has two different lines. It opens 2 hours before the game and closes at the end of the game. The menu has pretty standard Shake Shack offerings, the only different addition is the Astro Blast concrete. Your options are rather limited and you won't be filled up as if you were eating at Whataburger. The SmokeShack is their bacon burger with a twist, cherry peppers. The 'Shroom Burger is the veggie option which is a deep fried portobello mushroom filled with gooey cheeses. The best of both works is the Shack Stack, it is the lovechild of the 'Shroom Burger and their classic Shack Burger. It's definitely the option that you aren't going to get anywhere else, so it's worth a try! I think their regular Shack or Smoke Stack burgers aren't very special. All burgers comes with ShackSauce which is like a thousand island type sauce, similar to Big Mac sauce but without the pickled relish. The fries here are crinkle cut and fried to perfection. Add their signature Shack cheese sauce for only a dollar more. It's a light white cheddar type sauce that they are known for, not just nacho cheese. (Not that their is anything wrong with that!) The Astro Blast is a delicious vanilla custard with rich soft chocolate truffle cookie dough. Just the mixture of these two is worth it. Add in some broken ice cream sugar cone pieces for some crunchy texture and then chocolate sprinkles to make it all better. The only downfall is that they served me this right after I ordered and I still had to wait for my food to arrive... I wish there were lids to help it from melting in the Houston heat. They didn't have anything and I settled for using a drink lid to help, still a tasty treat! Come check it out if you are in the mood for a good burger at the stadium. Minute Maid has lots of options for local foods all over the stadium including the new Torchy's, Little Bigs, El Real, and St. Arnold's for Beer. PRO TIP: Get the extra condiments from the other stations to get toppings like pickle slices, onions, more lettuce and tomatoes. Jalapenos were a nice touch to our cheesy fries! read more

So much talk about Shake Shack and I can finally say that I tried it!!! Was the hype and rave correct? I would think so! I know this location is in Minute Maid and the food and experience could differ at the actual restaurant, but I was very happy with my burger. The line was long long long and the wait could be long cause they're not quick in taking orders - but come back around the 5th or 6th inning and the line would be nonexistent. With so many options for Astro's games, I decided to give them a try especially after reading about their 'shroom burger. The line was really long and not well marked meaning I accidentally cut in front of another group. Then after moving forward a bit, there was a second line that was shorter (so look for this if you are a newb to this place like me). I wish I would have moved to that line, but it would only have shaved off about 5-10 minutes. I got the 'shroom burger with their cheese fries and a shake. The fries were good as was the shake, but the 'shroom burger? No thanks - too many competing flavors and the mushroom was rubbery which can happen if portobellos are not prepared correctly. Aramark is a total disaster and has wrecked shake shack. 25-40 min wait in line during the game with many people milling around but not at the registers and only one handling out food. $32 for two basic single burgers with one fry order and a coke and water. My burger was falling apart and was terrible. Will never go to this location in Minute Maid again. Aramark has to go. These guys charge $12 for a boiled hot dog on a stale bun. Also if you are looking for a calorie friendly burger the hamburger only has 390. I had a smoke stack and a Carmel Shake. The shake consistency was good not super thick and not runny.
