We had mixed experiences at Shake Shack. My daughter ordered the double bacon burger and really enjoyed it... no complaints there. Unfortunately, my experience was very different. I ordered the black truffle burger, and it just did not sit well with me at all. Beyond not enjoying the taste, it genuinely made me feel unwell afterward, which has left me with a pretty strong aversion to Shake Shack overall. The chocolate slaps you and there are so many layers of deliciousness, the wheat in a shake is a little much but there are rules with a Dubai shack. No shredded wheat, its not the Dubai Shake. This Shake Shack location always has the best food with the best seating area. Once you walk in, you can order quickly through the kiosks on the side and find a seat. The workers deliver the food to you as long as you have a number for your order. There is a big seating area so no need to rush to give up your seat when done eating. On the side, you can help yourself with free water (filtered three times LOL), ketchup, and other condiments. The ambiance was pretty busy considering it was a Wednesday night. I picked up to go, the Black Truffle Burger double $13.69 which is supposed to be 100% Angus burger topped with Gruyere cheese and black truffle sauce made with real black truffle oil and our crispy sweet onions on a toasted potato bun. Upon opening up the wrapper and taking my first bite yuk. Where is the cheese, where is the truffle sauce and such a small amount of sweet onions. Dropped in for a quick lunch on a weekday. It wasn't very crowded or busy during lunch hours, which gets me a little suspicious. I ordered: Smoke Shack - the meat was juicy and flavorful. Their ground beef mixture seems a little more fatty than other chains. The only gripe is that the acidity (sourness) from the chopped cherry peppers and shack sauce overpowered instead of complementing the beef. (4/5) Crinkle Fries - one of the best fries from a burger chain. Better than the crinkle fries from White Castle (4/5) Ambience: the dining area was very clean, as the employees spray and wipe down every table. We don't go to Shake Shack too often, but we visit once in a while for a treat. At the Melville location there is plenty of parking in the back lot behind the fast food joint. During warm weather there is both outdoor and indoor seating available. In the front of the place there are a few designated spots just for pick up. We ordered ahead on the app. There wasn't a clear pick up location, but there is an employee by the pick up station that gave us our order as it was just ready when we arrived. Not ordering ahead, you can stop in and either order at a kiosk or with a person at the register. Compared to other fast food burger joints, Shake Shack is on the pricer side, hence why we only indulge once in a blue moon. The menu ranges from your basic burger/cheeseburger or you can be adventurous and try one of their unique burger flavor combinations. They also serve chicken sandwiches, hot dogs, grilled cheese or veggie burgers if the burger is not your thing that day. For sides of course you got three different types of crinkle fries from plain to cheese and loaded. Nothing super special with the fries, but they were nice and crisp. If you still have room for dessert you can get their concretes or shakes. Since it's about summertime they are featuring the the creamsicle and tiramisu shakes. The tiramisu shake was decadent and tasted very close to the actual dessert. It is served with a light dusting of coca powder and a ladyfinger cookie. The shroom burger is delicious but can be extremely hot. The cheese is inside the mushroom and it has burned my tongue numerous of times. But best bet is to let it cool off for two hours before taking that first bite!! The fries are up there as well, I usually eat these first while wait for my shroom burger to cool off. The management of this location needs to be fired because the service is horrible! I was tempted to give it 1 star but the food, even lukewarm, was still good. So we ordered curbside pickup of a smokeshack, shack burger, hot dogs and fries. We got there when AAP said food would be ready and clicked I'm Here on the app and waited and waited and waited. After 20 minutes, I went inside. It was around 630 so assumed it was packed inside even though I did not see a lot of cars. Nope. Almost empty inside. It was a weeknight. I asked person at pickup about my order. Person could not find it so I shored them the order on my phone. After about 15 minutes, they tried to give me someone else's order, which was much smaller. WTH?? I again showed the order and after almost 20 minutes, they brought out the order. But when I opened the bag to check that everything was there, the food was just lukewarm meaning the order was sitting there all along! After ordering via DoorDash a bunch of times for delivery at work, I finally decided to dine in. I dined in on a Saturday, early afternoon around 1130am. It's bright inside and there are bunch of tables. There are also outdoor seating, but it was a rainy Saturday, So...inside was the best option. There are a variety of things to order...burgers, hot dogs, chicken sandwhiches, fries, shakes...etc. I didn't see any salads on the menu though, so if you're eating healthy, I would suggest to eat somewhere else. Beer and wine is also available! I had ordered my usual. The Chick'n Shack. This chicken is fried and greasy and perfect for that morning hangover. Don't get me wrong, its just as yummy if you aren't hungover. It's fried to perfection. The batter is very tasty. On the sandwich to accompany the chicken is lettuce, pickles and a herb mayo. The herb mayo is my second favorite part of this sandwich. The bun is nice as well. My boyfriend also went with the Chick'n Shack and fries. The fries are tasty too...when I order delivery to work. I'm not sure what happened this time. Both orders of fries that were served were cold. Not even room temperature, but cold. When I brought it back up to the counter, the worker knew that they were served cold as his response was, "let me guess...your fries are cold." If he knew that they were cold, the fries shouldn't have been served. I had to wait a few minutes, but was given fresh fries. So as I was waiting, my chicken sandwich was no longer as hot, but you can't win them all. One thing I noticed about dining in, was that next to the condiments and napkins there was a fresh water filter. I do not drink soda, and always ask for a cup for water. It was nice and refreshing to see the water filter. The dining area as well as the bathroom were clean. For two chicken sandwiches, two fries and a small soda it came to $23. read more

On top of that they can't be bothered with calling out your name when your order is ready. You have to constantly be checking the name on every order. They didn't include ketchup either despite asking for it on the app. This is the second time out of my last 4 visits that the meal has been a waste of money. I got half way through the burger and I just couldn't continue so I just ate the fries which were good. A 50% success rate just doesn't cut it. That's probably why they lost my friend's order ticket and made us wait over 30 min for a to-go meal they didn't even realize was missing. After we inquired about the order and said we've been waiting a long time, they were super nonchalant about losing the order. I made an app order today as my dad wanted his favorite Shake Shack Burger for Fathers Day celebration. We ordered three burgers and the order only came with the bun and an over cooked meat. No lettuce, tomatoes and sauce! Then I checked the app again and realized the customers have to manually add all the free stuff for the hamburger. I had made the similar order with the Westbury location and I never had this issue. Not sure if the app had been tuned as their majority of customers prefers bun and meat only or the store tried to save work and cost from the free ingredient. The worse problem at this place is not about the condiment of the burger. It is how they cooked the hamburger. I picked up my order at 12:20pm but I feel the meat had been cooked few days ago. How do you not know what could be served to the customers and what cannot? This is by far my most horrifying experience with Shack Shake. Grabbed a quick lunch here today and was pretty happy with my choice. One of the things I like most is that they have something for every member of the family including the 4 legged ones. Surprisingly it wasn't super crowded and the line moved rather fast.The cashier was super helpful as I ordered a Shroom burger not realizing the carnivore in me would have cried.So I had a Shack Burger and a coffee shake.Sweetheart had a Double Shack no lettuce...no tomatoe,added bacon(as my followers know:he hates veggies!) and a chocolate shake.We shared an order of fries.Off we went after being handed our buzzer to a back table.It only took a few minutes and there is our tray.Was I dissapointed nooo,but for some reason I expected the burgers to be larger for ..but they sure are pretty and thankfully his order came out correct.The shake is super thick,we liked that a whole lot.I have a pet peeve about almost cold fries,but I didn't feel like complaining this evening and he wolfed them down anyhow like a beast.He liked the fries...I saw no big deal.The burger meat is quality and pretty tasty. Pretty much like my review of the Westbury location because: -Shake Shacks are always big and bright -They always have great teams - All the store (I have been to) are spotless - The food is AWESOME Park your car, walk on down, but come hungry because this place is Awesome... Clearly the best burger ever and the Shack-Cago hot dog is a treat. This place is all windows with plenty of seating and their system of ordering and picking up is perfect. I have been to this location twice, both times busy and the line moved quickly and we found seating easily. I took my co-worker here of r lunch and as always The burgers were just so tasty and fresh, the buns buttery and complimented the meat with the cheese and sauce. My new favorite is the Smoke Shack. I could probably eat two, but think one is the right way to go. The whole team here was nothing but smiles and helpful.
