NEVER BEEN LESS THAN 5 STARS... This is pretty much the same review I use all over, but then again. White Castle is usually the same, all over. It really is about "The Crave." I love White Castle, who doesn't (wait, don't answer that.) Over my years I have found that you either LOVE the Castle or can't get far enough away. There is nothing better than a WC slider on your way home from a party where the food was only mediocre, to fill that hunger void. That little strip of beef with the holes, cooked onions and pickles are the best. My other favorites include their French fries, a double cheese burger and the clam strips. There is really nothing on the menu that is just no good. The must have one heck of a market survey team before they add an item... Once it goes up on the board it seems to stay there forever. I do miss the car delivery when they would come out and put the tray on your window and load it up it all the goodies, usually 25 burgers, a couple of sacks of fries and a large coke (Harold and Kumar did it best). This Commack location (new for me) is very clean, bright and convenient.. I always wonder if they ever have fill all the tables and chairs up at the same time. The staff here was really nice. It's a family owned business and they all wear shirts that say just that. I don't believe that there is anything I can say to convenience to try the burgers if you're not already a fan, but give em a try... You'll be glad you did. By the way... they pair perfectly with a good Cab! KUDO's to The Castle.

Drive-through service was quick and efficient! The staff was also friendly. I ordered four cheese sliders and the sliders came out hot! They were packaged neatly and I received my order within five minutes. I will return to this location due the convenient layout. The end of the drive-through actually pulls you straight into a parking spot! What more could you ask for?

I have never been to this White Castle before. The one closest to me apparently closed, which is not the hugest surprise. So I drive to this one and get on the line. After I order, I realize that the building was going to be in the passenger side of the car. When I get up to the area, I see there is a conveyor belt that goes above the car. I drop my card into a cup and watch the rack disappear. A few minutes later, the food and card come back. It was definitely a cool experience. The food is like all other W Castles I have been to so far. It's fine. It's something different than other fast food. The staff was extremely friendly in our limited interaction. I would go again.

Just posting to give new visitors a heads up. Definitely the most unique drive-thru I have ever seen. There are no windows along the building, but rather a conveyor belt that goes above your car and drops the food down a chute. Wish I knew this the first time I visited!

Caveats: I've never had White Castle. I'm vegetarian. I ate after a flight 4hrs delayed, from CA to NY, and my meal was at 3am in the morning. The place is open 24hrs, so you can pretty much have this stuff any time of the day. That being said, something I ate made me sick. They have vegetarian sliders that are kind of these, patties of squished vegetables. You can get it with a sauce, like thai sweet chili, or something like that. Don't bother. There's not enough on there for you to taste it. There is also ranch that you can get on the side. The burgers were nothing to write home about. Kind of squishy all the way around and inside out. Mayhaps the regular ones are better. Mozzarella sticks: standard ones that you can get from any fast food place. Comes with marinara. Service was kind of slow, probably because it was 3am. Their drive thru is the strangest thing, though. You might want to check it out just for that. I ended up feeling sick an hour later.

    STORM THE CASTLE

It's a quarter to midnight on a Tuesday and you're at White Castle. Now wait a second. There's a reason why you're at White Castle at a quarter to midnight on a Tuesday. Maybe you're on your way home from the late shift and you're too damn tired to cook and you need a cheap meal before you stagger through the door and collapse on the bed still in your clothes and grab a few hours of brain-dead unconsciousness before you start the next shift. Maybe your lady finally got sick of your shit and was ready to leave and you said no no I'll leave because you'd rather sleep in your car than have her go to her mother's and you need a place to sit down with a couple of burgers and a Coke while you try to figure things out. Maybe you got a piece waiting for you next door at the Commack Motor Inn and you need a quick energy boost before you claim your 15 minutes of fame. Or maybe you're sitting on the couch with the missus and she says quietly but loud enough for you to hear that she's feeling a bit peckish and you volunteer to grab something because you're a nice guy and because it's the third time this week you want an alternative to Taco Bell and Wendy's. So you drive over there. The exterior is a white castle, all right. But there's no moat. No guards. No boiling oil dumped from above onto teeming invaders or unruly serfs--they need it to cook the fries. And there's no king to whom you would herald good news, but let's be honest: it's almost never "good news" to find yourself at White Castle. But the restaurant is clean, much cleaner than your intentions, and the workers are friendlier than you'd expect for a quarter to midnight on a Tuesday. And you order more than you want, more than you need, because it's White Castle and portion control has never been your strong suit and the burgers are small and so are the prices, you know? And those burgers neatly packed in their little boxes remind you of when your parents, when they were still an active part of your life, spoke of them like manna from above, rare delicacies we take for granted today, like soda and lattes on demand. And you pop that first burger in your mouth like a communion wafer from the Church of Our Lady of Myocardial Infarction, and you pace yourself by nibbling on the second but after that it's a blur because of Belly Bomber Blackout from their familiar sogginess and alchemic umami power and yes the fries clear a very low bar but that's not why we're having this party in the first place. And after you've finished your meal, bloated with regret, you swear to never eat them again until you've forgotten that vow, like so many others, and the craving summons you again a few months or weeks or days later. And you hate yourself with a middle-aged kind of self-hate because you can no longer disappear a half-dozen burgers as you could when you were 7, when you consumed sugar and fat and garbage with impunity. And as you consider the countless youthful interests and tastes you've discarded, you ponder one of the few links--in this case, gastronomic--between your past and your present, and as you contemplate your ever-shrinking future, you pose a question to the unfeeling cosmos: Why didn't I get a shake? Valentines Day Meal at White Castle Had to get reservations for this event. Not all WC do the Valentines day gig. Commack and Deer Park were listed. Note if you go online and sign up and put in a time and it reads nothing within the next 2 hours - no matter what time you put in, call the place, ask for corporate number and call them during working hours. Sometimes as with us, they can get your reservation in. The Place is the Place, but it has Valentine's Day décor and the hamburger boxes around the heart displays, it also has a small corner section for that picture-perfect spot. Staff dressed in black and or red, were very friendly and willing to take your picture or pose when I took theirs. For this day, they have Wait service. Our Waiter was Juan, a charm and good waiter. We pick from a printed menu on our table with a variety of package choices for hamburgers and French fries or even chicken rings, the dessert menu with a few items like cheesecake on a stick. They had shakes and smoothies listed. I asked for the flavors. C, V, S. Strawberry Banana for the smoothie. I'd suggest for next year, putting a Special in the menu and out for view upon entering. Strawberry Pink shakes and strawberry banana or orange vanilla Creamsicle specials to order for the day/weekend. I'd also have a matradee' or the waiter to tell the customers about the Bold Move game and directing customers to play. I found out about it and the directions, only when I got a bag to pack the burgers to go. Then, I read the burger boxes with things listed like, serenade your hamburger before you eat it, do the worm-attempts count. When I mentioned it to a family that came in with young children, professing that they have come for the last 11 years, they smiled and said oh that will be fun. It was quiet and I think most people did not realize that there was the Bold Move game to play. With that I'd have a camera, video person on hand to capture and edit the fun for staff and P.R. There are gender equal vampire bathrooms! no mirrors. 20 burgers 10 with cheese and 10 without, 4 French Fry bags, 2 drinks and 1 dessert later, the tally was 40 bucks. They do taste good going down. Be aware, they have been nicknamed "belly bombers" for a reason. **o.

One of a kind. I have been a White Castle fan since I was a kid, going to the one on Queens Boulevard. This chain attracts an entirely different clientele than McDonalds. The best burgers around.

Being from California, White Castle is. HUGE novelty. I was very excited that my hotel was a few miles away. I had tried White Castle in Vegas but was told that the east coast ones are exceptionally better. As a result, I gave White Castle another chance. I got a few dif sliders - original, bacon cheeseburger, chicken, fish, and jalapeno cheese. The original ones tasted somewhat better than the Vegas ones but they still did not wow me by any means. The ret of the sliders were worse than the original ones. The chicken and fish were over fried and were too hard for me to even finish. I also got the onion rings which were soggy. I get that is fast food but man the food here tasted exceptionally artificial. This Californian will no longer fantasize about White Castle - sticking to my In-n-Out! Btw service here is very very very slow.

Everything was delicious, perfectly prepared, and served with professionalism from start to finish. We went with the Carnivore Belly package and added skirt steak, wings, and a mix of sides. The wings were crisp and flavorful, and the fryer setup stole the show with piping-hot fries and onion rings that guests couldn't stop talking about. Even the sides (macaroni salad, harvest salad) were fresh and balanced out the richness of the BBQ perfectly. Booking, setup, cooking, serving, and cleanup were all handled smoothly. I've been here on numerous occasions hoping that maybe this would finally be the visit where everything clicked. Unfortunately, it just hasn't happened. My experiences have been so-so, and more often than not they've been slightly disappointing. My biggest complaint has always been the food. My take has been it's been bland or uninspired. The French onion soup was just ok, and seemed like no effort putting this together. No provolone cheese option when I've ordered which is crazy. The Caesar salad tasted diluted, with lettuce that seemed waterlogged rather than crisp and fresh. Just overall underwhelming. The food is not necessarily terrible, but just mediocre and forgettable. Portion size is another problem. For what you're paying, the plates often feel surprisingly small. One example of this was the "Big C Burger," which was honestly a huge letdown. With a name like that you'd expect something substantial. Instead, the burger was tiny--maybe 4-5 ounces at most. At first glance you could barely even see the meat because the bun swallowed it. I ordered it medium and it came out completely overcooked, cooked to death really. The bun didn't help either--dense, dry, and overpowering the already small patty. The whole thing just felt poorly executed. Even the little details were off. I asked for olive oil on the side for a salad and what came out was clearly some generic vegetable oil. It felt like a lazy substitution, the kind of thing that makes you question how much care is going into the kitchen overall. To be fair, the one thing Faraday's consistently gets right is the atmosphere. The restaurant is has a cozy charming space with a warm pub feel. The indoor dining area although small has character and a comfortable vibe. The outdoor area is really nice too, and perfect for setting for a nice meal on a comfortable day. Service is good. I've not had any issues with any servers ever being inattentive. Occasionally some order mixups but quickly rectified. Unfortunately, that inviting setting hasn't translated to memorable meals. After several attempts over the years, Faraday's has remained one of those places that seems like it should be good--but for me, it just never quite hits.
