My order wasn't ready when I walked in, but that gave me time to view the restaurant's interior. Was happy to see that all spaces I viewed were clean. We ordered online to dine in. I got the smokehouse burger and it was delicious and fresh. It was a little spicy for me but keep in mind I weak lol. One of the employees we encountered wasn't personable but the one who gave us our food was very nice. Two what appeared to be managers walked right by us when it was empty inside and didn't acknowledge us. That's such a simple gesture to at least exchange pleasantries. Always a good experience when we goto this shake shack. The person handling the togo order was nice and very hospitable. we ate outside and he came a couple times to check up on us for refills or any sauce we needed. The burgers was amazing as always. I really like places who do a few things and do them well. I get a burger craving a few times a year and decided to stop in after a movie. The place is super clean, with friendly staff, and convenient ordering kiosks. The patio is large and L shaped, with a good amount of tables but not too crowded. Our food came out in about 10 minutes, maybe a little less. The burger was simple, and exactly what I wanted-bacon, cheese, perfectly cooked patty and soft bun. My friend had the same thing wrapped in lettuce and also enjoyed it. We were pretty disappointed with our visit. It took over 20 minutes to get our food even though the restaurant was only about 20-30% full, which didn't make much sense. The burgers were just okay but very greasy, and the chicken tenders tasted like basic frozen nuggets you'd get from a grocery store. The biggest letdown was the milkshakes--they were somehow warm, which was honestly surprising in the worst way. We ordered the spicy chicken sandwich and a gf double cheeseburger with spicy cheese fries. The order was around $32 and we did not order drinks. The chicken sandwich was really crispy but not really spicy at all. The gf burger was delicious and juicy. The fries are fried perfectly so every single fry is crispy. If you are looking for a good tasting burger, Shake Shack will not disappoint. My go to order is always the Shack Burger medium-well minus tomato. The burger is always cooked to my liking. The shack sauce is what adds to the overall enjoyment of the burger in my opinion. Their fries are good, they aren't what I would consider great, but always consistent in their texture and crunch. I like their assortment of shakes, especially their seasonal ones and I do enjoy the variety of other beverage choices, and custards. I prefer this location over the Southend one not because it's better in any way or closer to me (it's actually further), but the parking situation is so much easier than Southend. read more

If you like Shake Shack you'll like this outlet. We dropped in one night after 7pm before picking someone up at Charlotte Airport. The hamburgers were the usual very good, as were the French fries ... although they could have been fried a bit longer. The cheese fries were especially good. Service was nice because they used a runner to get the food to the tables. Ambiance was missing as it pretty much was just an empty room with tables strewn about. It's very impressive they remained as good and the quality the taste the vibe were preserved through time and space ( NY to NC) . Also the portions are big. Both of us basically ate half of each and then finished the rest at dinner. So honestly very affordable it can get you two meals :) The service is very friendly and quick, the restaurant is clean and sleek and hip and cool all at once. The location of the restaurant is prime I love this area of Charlotte. It can be a meal before or after a movie, it can be after a quick strip mall run, after the bar eat stop.... Convenient parking easy access and there is a fun game up front - with the sand bags.. don't judge me I was born and raised in Brazil I do not know the name of it. My husband had not been to shake shack before, so we decided to try it one night for dinner. The food was good, but everything is a la crate, so the prices can add up quickly. Overall we thought the food was okay, but not somewhere we would be in a rush to go back again. We did splurge and try the milkshakes and they were delicious!! If I went back I would probably go back for just a milkshake. The employees were so nice and friendly and helpful and really made it an enjoyable experience. When we went to pay the employee realized my husband is a veteran and had a manager help her fix the order to give us the veteran discount. This was so nice and we appreciated how she went out of her way to help us. She could have easily not done anything and we wouldn't have know. I wish more places had such great employees! read more

Cashier (didn't get her name) seemed to have an attitude about me having cash and not being able to use the self order screens. Mind you, they were not busy at all. Another employee needed a favor from the cashier and asked her "Are you about to take an order?" cashier replies "No, I'm not taking no order." As I was standing at the counter waiting to order. If you are looking for the best chicken sandwich in Charlotte this is it (IMO). I love them their herbed mayonnaise just adds the perfect touch to the crispy chicken. It's always juicy and crispy every time I go. I love how every time I go my food is great never had a bad meal in the many times I have went. Their food is a little on the pricey side for fast food but I don't mind treating myself there every once in a while. We made a return visit in hopes that things have improved as far as COVID procedures go. While the dining room is very clean and we didn't have to ask for our table to be cleaned, we observed a couple parties had left and no one came through to sanitize the tables. Maybe I am nitpicking but I feel like these are simple procedures that are just not being done. Given how much my son is a Burger Fiend, we finally decided to check out this joint. Basically, it's a slightly more modern version of Steak 'n Shake, though more casual since we have to go thru the line, and pick up a beeper (no table service). Honestly, I wasn't too thrilled with the ambiance inside (though much cuter from the outside)...in that their bright-white lighting was so frickin' harsh! I felt like we all were ready to perform on stage or something! But then, of course, they featured the All-American Sports TV entertainment in this joint...Yawn. Definitely wouldn't say that it's a cozy, feel-good kinda place...at least not for me! Surprisingly, their burger menu wasn't that extensive...but from what I ordered, the SmokeShack, it was pretty good. I liked how soft the buns were and how they wrapped around the meats. Although initially the burgers looked small, they were quite filling...so no complaints on the portion. I also liked the Crinkled Fries. We also ordered the Cheese Fries...and frankly, didn't think much of the cheap cheese. I also had their Root Beer Float...and it was HUGE!! A ton of ice cream inside it, we had to change our plans of going to Jeni's afterwards (too much ice cream in one night??). BTW, my hubby and son had Shakes and they both seemed to like it. Overall, we all had a full, satisfying meal...but we weren't too impressed. We (I, especially?) are fans of the amazing Bang Bang Burgers, and this joint pales in comparison in every way. Still, this place beats pure fast food burgers, so am glad we have this chain in town. I kept hearing about this place so we finally tried it while we were in the area. My fiance got a cookies and cream shake and I got their Christmas cookie shake. Each were $5+. Not sure why, the shake was not thick at all so it can't be due to the amount of ice cream. The cheese fries were meh. I didn't like the cheese, it reminded me of a cross between Velveeta and cheddar. The fries remind me of those fries you bake at home in the oven. The burger was ok, not as thick as Smashburger I think and I didn't like how the bun is cold but the sandwich is warm. They did NOT have any other cheese besides American, and I hate American. Personally, I like Steak and Shake better. Not sure what the hype us about. For 2 single sandwiches and 2 shakes $28 is a bit steep for lunch. Edit: I went to Steak and Shake last night. I haven't had a shake in years prior to Shake Shack so I decided to compare. OMG Steak and Shake is the real deal. REAL ice cream and THICK. I'm obsessed with this place and go every time I'm in New York, so I was super excited when it finally came to North Carolina. This place is definitely in my top 5 for burger spots. It is a little pricey though. The burger tastes amazing and is perfectly made from the meat to the potato bread buns. The fries are thick crinkled fries which are my personal favorite, so I love them. The cheese for the cheese fries is yummy and thick, and unlike any other cheese sauce I've ever had. It's hard to explain but it's really good. This location is cute and has outdoor seating as well, and it's always nice and clean inside. It's also near other great places like Freedom Park and Amelie's Bakery. Side note: I wouldn't get the chicken bites again because they are just average. But, the Brooklyn pie oh my custard was SO GOOD!!! They make it with fresh pieces of pie from the bakery just across the street from the restaurant, so the flavor and texture is so rich and creamy!! read more

LOVE the Shake Shack. This location has ample parking, friendly service. I always order ahead in the app and use curbside or indoor pick up (which has its own parking spots). Order accuracy and food quality is always spot on. My favorite thing about the Shake Shack is the seasonal featured milkshakes - they sometimes sound strange, but they are always absolutely incredible. As a vegetarian, this is my favorite fast food burger place because it actually has a vegetarian burger option - a delicious mushroom burger that is fried with cheese - and I add pickles and sliced onions. I ordered online to pick up at 1:15. Food wasn't ready until 1:30 and they forgot to include the sauce I requested on the side (always check your to-go order!). They did include a coupon for free fries for my next visit because my order wasn't ready on time. While I was waiting for my food to come up, I noticed a lot of chaos in the restaurant. Ketchup and napkins needed refilling at the condiment station. I think this store could use some streamlining to provide better service. That being said, the food was good. I can't say if it's better than Five Guys because it's been a long time since I've been there. I ordered a single shack burger and a chick'n shack sandwich with sauce on the side. I probably won't go out of my way to eat here but if friends wanted to come here, I wouldn't say "hell no." read more

Shake Shack is in Charlotte... I guess that means we are a large city now? It's great to see popular chains "break ground" in the QC because that means we have a large enough, and desirable enough market to be in. I've had Shake Shack a couple times with my trips to Chicago so I already knew what to expect. Unfortunately the Shake Shack in Chicago that I frequented wasn't the best, so I was cautiously optimistic about this location in Charlotte. Being in Park Rd Shopping Center, it's a great location right off the bat. I believe the Monkey Joes that used to occupy this space was demo'ed and a new, stand-alone building was built just for the Shack. The parking lot/ traffic flow leaves a lot to be desired as there is a one-way road that loops back around the building, but it was definitely inconvenient that someone had blocked the drive to run in and get an online order or pick-up. Either way, just be careful maneuvering around the parking lot. I'll just chalk it up to it being "new" but I'll also mostly blame just people in general. So I ended up parking in the "back side" of the building so I walked through the dining room to get to the registers. The staff was super friendly and I knew the drill. I still don't know if having the menu to where it is visible from the line is a great idea or a drawback cause there is no reference once you approach the register so there's a lot of swiveling heads. Placed my order for a chicken shack, cheese fries, and a milkshake and was given a buzzer. Everything is made-to-order but it's pretty quick. The sandwich was solid and the crinkle cut fries were nice and crisp, the cheese on them were a bonus. The black and white milkshake was delicious, but I had this feeling I had to workout the next two days to undo my intake from this meal. Overall it was a solid experience. It was a weeknight and there was a steady flow of people. I can't imagine that the line is like on the weekends... oh, but I have definitely driven by and seen the line, literally out the door. read more

Hardcore In-N-Out fan here, but trying my best to leave my prejudice out of this review lol This is my 3rd or 4th time eating at Shake Shack and honestly, it was fantastic! The Double Shack Burger DID NOT disappoint and I'll go so far to say that this would be my #1 (east coast) fast food burger choice. Now I'm a huuuuge fan of a crispy bun and the bottom bun of this bad boy was just a little soggy for my taste. However, the sog was the result of really incredibly delicious burger juices, so not too mad about it :-) As many have stated before, the crinkle fries aren't much to write home about as far as ingenuity, but mine have always come out hot, fresh, and crisp at this location at least. read more

Excellent shakes! I wanted to try their milkshakes and the cookies and cream milkshake was delicious. It is pricey at $5.50 but definitely creamy ice cream. I tried their chicken nuggets which were very savory and yummy. The chicken tasted fresh and homemade. I liked the milkshake the best. I used the online ordering website and asked for curbside. It was my first time doing curbside. (They suggested using the app for curbside pickup.) Great service! Parking is difficult in the tiny lot but they have curbside reservations for four spaces and you can park in the shopping center and walk too. read more

This spot has the absolute best burger i've ever had. We were in charlotte near the airport and very hungry and passed by this place. It is absolutely delicious. We are not from Charlotte so we weren't familiar with this place. We got two burgers with fries and a shake. The service itself ordering was fast waiting on the food took a while but it was worth it! I do think that they should maybe consider a speaker for calling out names because the guy wasn't very loud when calling them out. I waited, too, and paid nearly $25 for two burgers, regular fries, and a salted caramel milkshake (my wife and I split the meal). The verdict? Yepper, I'm a fan. The combination of delicate (yet crispy) fries, juicy burgers on a potato bun, and that salted caramel milkshake might just be the best combo I've had in a long time.
