I stopped in for a quick lunch. I'm glad I did. My single cheeseburger was pretty good. I got a single cheeseburger combo with tater tots and a drink. My total was $11.67. The place is new in the inside and looks very clean. They post a 98.0 sanitation grade. The employees are friendly. The food was really good.

Wayback has delicious burgers. They are made to order, which makes this place a gem. I always order the double cheeseburger with fries or homemade chips with ranch. I recently tried a milkshake and I wasn't surprised when it was delicious as well! You can download the app to place orders in advance and to earn reward points. They also send coupons through the app. Wayback has a nice outdoor patio with umbrellas so you can enjoy the weather!

Total disappointment $76.67 waisted. We ordered 4 impossible melts. The cheese wasn't melted, the onions were not caramelized, the bread wasn't toasted, the patty wasn't hot or warmed. It tasted like it was seasoned with cardboard. Burger King's impossible burger tasted better. The tater tots were over cooked they tasted like they soaked in old dirty grease. The milkshakes was a bit watery and had no toppings. The onion rings were cold just like the plain burgers that LisaMarie made. Speaking of LisaMarie she went from the register to making food very unsanitary & come to find out she's the manager. Although when I called the store someone else claimed to be the manager and said they would refund our money and they never did. That's bad business !! Stir clear !! Wendy's is next door. If you looking for plant base keep looking the cross contamination will make you throw it all back up like it did us. This place is trashy AF

Cheeeesy Burger Onion Rings with wayback sauce and some of the best root beer

I've been by this location twice now. The service is pretty good and efficient. I enjoyed the cheesy burger, not overly greasy and the onion rings are some of the best I've had since in Charlotte. The wayback sauce is a blend of mustard and BBQ, really good to dip into. 2nd visit I tried the classic burger and milkshake. Not pictured below. I really enjoyed the burger added bacon, yum! The shake was good, nice consistency. I kept it simple went for vanilla. My motto, if they mess up a vanilla milkshake then shakes are probably not their thing lol. Prices are a little up there, but they run specials, perfect time to try them out. I found them through Facebook. If you're in the area they are worth a try.

Our waitress, Zoe, was phenomenal. They may have been out of the wine we ordered but she was very suggestive of another alternative that turned out to be even better. She came back, took our orders and not to our surprise, it all came out perfect because she was very in tune when taking our orders. Several people checked on us throughout our dining experience. However, Alex, he stood out. He made sure to clean extra plates and glasses out of our way and made sure we were having a great time there. Overall, this restaurant has always been a go to, but tonight, it'll be a weekly must. Love their specials and wine selection! Just wish they were open one hour later during the week!

My only critique is that the appetizer selection is a bit limited, but the huge variety of main dishes more than makes up for it. Very homey, very friendly, and exactly the kind of spot you want in your neighborhood.

I came in on a Saturday evening and there was a bit of a wait for a table, but we were able to grab a drink nearby and didn't mind the wait, we figured it must be worth it. It sure was! There's a reason they are a crowd favorite, and it has to do with the food, the service, and the reasonable prices. I elected to have the Buffalo chicken quesadilla, and we started with an order of cheese curds. They also look like they have some delicious wings and burgers. If I lived in the Mint Hill area this would be one of my go to's when I wanted a nice meal and a drink or two. Nothing fancy. Just good food for a reasonable price!

It's one…read moreof those comfort foods I don't eat often because it's so rich--but when I see it on a menu, it absolutely catches my attention. That's exactly what drew me to The Southern Pecan in SouthPark. Here in the South, they call it country fried steak, and I'm happy to report this one did not disappoint. I met a colleague there for lunch, and everything about the experience felt easy from the start. The restaurant is located in Phillips Place, a lovely little shopping area that feels a bit polished and upscale--with shops like Orvis, Tory Burch, and even a Restoration Hardware restaurant nearby. They do offer valet parking, which is a nice touch, though honestly parking is easy enough on your own. We had reservations through OpenTable and were seated on the patio, which was absolutely delightful for this time of year in Charlotte. The weather was perfect, the setting was relaxed, and the service started off warm and welcoming right away. Now, the food. The country fried steak was beautifully cooked--crispy on the outside, tender inside, and served with creamy mashed potatoes and gravy that hit all the nostalgic notes from my Texas upbringing. I paired it with a vegetable side (I believe it was broccoli or corn), and it was a classic Southern plate done right. We also enjoyed a couple of cocktails, and to finish, we split a praline bread pudding, which felt like the perfect Southern ending to the meal--sweet, comforting, and indulgent without being overwhelming. The staff was friendly and attentive, and one of the things I continue to appreciate about Charlotte is how easy it is to connect with people. We even chatted with diners at nearby tables, which added to that welcoming, community feel that makes dining out here so enjoyable--especially for someone coming from the Bay Area. Prices felt fair for the quality, the setting, and the portion sizes, and overall the experience left a great impression. Bottom line: If you're craving a solid Southern classic like country fried steak--or just want a relaxed patio lunch in a charming part of SouthPark--The Southern Pecan is definitely worth a visit. And as someone happily eating my way through Charlotte and the Southeast, this stop was another reminder that the journey has been a delicious one.

I've heard rave reviews about this place so Michelle & I went for Sunday Brunch…read more They recommended a reservation so we had one @ 12n. It was already quite busy when we arrived and it's not clear where your parking options are. People are pulling up to the entrance and dropping people off so it gets jammed up and chaotic, of course people are running late so those BIG Yukons and Suburbans are making it a challenge to navigate a small entrance area. You would THINK they would at least have a Valet option of Sat/Sun during Brunch. To park, go BEHIND the restaurant on the street to the left and you'll see some free parking options that are close and walkable. We asked for a table on the patio and were immediately seated. The bar was already buzzing with solo diners enjoying their Mimosas. The patio is NOT that big, a little over crowded and table are very close with not much space in between. There was a LARGE group of 'FUN' ladies right beside us enjoying their MIMOSAS, dropping the 'F' bomb from time to time and making a LOT of noise. What can you do? Nothing but try to make the best of it and just start talking LOUDER like everyone else. The OVERHEAD heaters were way too intense so the Staff was very responsive at our request to turn down the heat. We shared the BBQ Shrimp Starter which was SO good, I highly recommend. I had the Gumbo and Michelle had the beet and goat cheese salad. We both had the Red Fish which comes with smashed potatoes and broccoli. The potatoes were so BLAND, the broccoli had NO seasoning. The Red Fish wasn't that great of a flavor and not very tender, not easy to cut, had to use my knife at times to get a bite. Kinda disappointed, I lived in N Orleans for a couple of years and it was always so good there. The biggest disappointment was the Gumbo. It had all the right ingredients but the ROUX was to strong, dark and heavy. It actually gave me indigestion afterwards. The service was OUTSTANDING. Our Server was Daylean, she was so nice and helpful with the menu and kept our refills coming.

My wife and my SIL both ordered the avocado toast and added a sunny side egg. It was weird because usually they would put the egg on top, but they buried the egg under the greens. Both eggs were completely cold and the yolks congealed. Weirdly ice cold, like they came out of the fridge. I ordered the Gary's BBQ sandwich which is the most expensive sandwich in the menu. It is supposed to be pulled pork, BBQ sauce, Mac and cheese and onion frizzles. Well there were no onion frizzles and while there was BBQ sauce, there was virtually no on pork. Literally 1/2 a teaspoon on the sandwich. A tiny shred here or there. It was just a grilled cheese with macaroni between the very good sourdough bread. Also, mediocre frozen French fries. None of us will return.
