Sloppy Track shake and single burger.
    Otis M.

If you are at the track and want a burger, this is a perfectly good place to get it. i had the single burger and the Sloppy Track shake, available only at this location; it's a vanilla shake dusted with cocoa and not all that exciting. A sign says "we make our shakes with custard"... WTF, like soft serve stuff? I'm not a big shake fan and this did not change my mind, plus it was on the skimpy side for five bucks plus. As an appealing alternative, they have Brooklyn ale on tap. The burger was also a bit small for the price but you can get two or a double if you are hungry. The best thing definitely is the beef... tasty, juicy, crumbly. If you are a fan of the Five Guys-style "wet" burger you will like this one. I took a picture of my shake and burger, which I will now upload. I put down my sheet of racing picks to do the photo, and some swell made off with it. Bad move, sucka, those were some sorry ponies.

Oh my god this place is delicious! I completely understand the hype now. It's a damn good burger. Juicy patties with a creamy shake sauce. Fries were crinkly and crispy. If you are craving s burger and fries, this is your place. It's pricey but sooo worth it!

Worth the hype? I should say so, yes. These are the best fast food burgers I have ever had, and I've had my share. I I really only went to Saratoga for the double shack burger and it was worth it. Amazingly flavorful beef, seared to perfection with a perfect salty crust. Plenty of melty cheese and a tangy sauce (like russian dressing) all between a fluffy bun that soaks up the delightful drippings. Burger heaven! Maybe next time ill be hungry enough to get a shake with it.

Ask the Community - Shake Shack

I saw that you're open from 11 AM to 30 minutes after the last race on race days, but what if we don't want to research when those are? Is there a way for us to tell when you'll be open? Do we have to buy a ticket to the races to get a burger?

Is the Saratoga Shake Shack open when it's not track season?

Hi Michelle, Thank you for your question. Our Saratoga Shack is only open on race days, from 11 AM…

As a family that owns race horses, we spend every summer in Saratoga, and this by far is the best food point at the track.

That fright disappears quickly though once you're inside. Bruce, the owner, is happy to school you in the 5 sauces, and also give you ice cream samples. He makes everything right here. It's a passion project for him and frigg'n delicious. He's happy to talk..... about anything. He's just happy you're here. There are a couple tables that you can sit at inside. But beware, despite its proximity to Saratoga, this is the furthest thing from pretentious. If you're looking for a sit-down dinner with waiters.... This Ain't It. The ice cream is flavorful, unique, and easy to keep going. The strawberry lemon ice is INSANELY delicious. You can taste the freshness of the berries. Soooo good. Soooo refreshing. It's perfect. Well... maybe a hint of a mint leaf might be nice. The barbecue is spot on. The homemade sauces...just take his advice. Have him sauce the meat she way he wants. You won't be disappointed. The "sampler trough" could use some work. It's delicious, but everyone wants a well parsed out sampler. We want to try it all, Bruce. So... may we suggest some small metal trays for the base. Then... pickles, add the beans, potato salad, Mac n cheese, and some kind of bread to mop it up. We tried it for the first time, and even got "seconds" to go. You should go here, be brave. You'll be rewarded and happy you did.

Not pre packaged but made with care like everything else. Lastly, owner/proprietor, Bruce is someone who is passionate about his business. You're not eating at a chain. It is not pretentious, just good food you would find at a friends house. That's really the best way to describe the feeling you will leave with. Don't be afraid to ask about anything. Brilliant conversation is hard to come by. So this is a strong recommendation on my must-try list

So we got her plate of food yesterday and it was awesome. It should last for a few days the salad was fresh and a lovely tomatoes olives little cherry peppers cucumber and onions. At a lovely white balsamic vinegar there is a five slices of garlic butter bread. And the chicken was beautiful too big pieces I think it's too she got one third I got one quarter and the rest is going to get her through the rest of the week with everything else in her apartment. It had arugula on it fresh cut tomatoes some onion slices and parmesan cheese on top. The breading was perfect they put a lemon cut in half on either corners of the tray. Everything's packaged so well. The order online is so easy. I think at the end of the week they have less desserts but they still have desserts. They're strawberry cake is awesome I got that months ago with the shrimp scampi risotto which was awesome. The menu doesn't say it comes with a salad but the family meals come with a salad. If it does say it comes with the salad I can't find it. Everything is so easy and so good. They're right on rolling Street and look what looks like used to be a small ranch house but they have it designed really lovely. I wish they were closer to where I am off exit 15. We were in a hurry no pictures were taken but our stomachs were mightily satisfied. Our taste buds quite enjoyed all the flavors. They are strictly a business you go to because you are ordering food to take home which I like. I like to take my food and bring it home to sit on the couch and watch some tv.

This is not the case here - all of the food we had was made in house, and you could taste the difference. The beer battered fries had a thin flaky coating that made them irresistible. The buffalo calamari was cooked perfectly, piled up, and topped with blue cheese crumbles and green onion. Don't even get us started on the boneless wings... also, the ranch and blue cheese dip were out of this world. Guess what? HOME MADE. We came here to watch a Sabres game, since we heard there were a ton of TVs to watch the games. And we ended up being surprised with a fantastic dinner and great service. What a great night.

Honestly, they had a ton of potential, but they didn't deliver. The calamari was soggy instead of crispy. The balance of other items was pretty off. It looked pretty, but didn't taste good. The calamari was bitter in addition to being soggy. The balsamic glaze added a sweetness, but it wasn't offset by enough salty/spicy. It was served with a tomato sauce that didn't go well with the toppings. It was an odd dish. If it wasn't so late, I might have actually sent it back (which I do probably once every 10 years). Fresher, crispy and less bitter calamari might have been enough to fix the balance. My dinner companion had a sandwich with a bun, lettuce, apple slice, fried chicken, cheese, and bacon. I think it might have been a special. It was ok. It came with Saratoga chips, which is why we picked the restaurant. We wanted to get Saratoga chips in Saratoga. Unfortunately, they were hard and cold and bland. Lots of TVs. Service was meh. I felt like they were put out for serving us. There's a good bar vibe. If I were to eat there again, I would go for beer and wings.

But today I wanted to try something different. The BBQ Brisket Burnt Ends Sandwich ($19) caught my attention. While I found the fresh roll to brisket ratio a little out of balance, the roll was actually flavorful and there was plenty of meat in the roll. I think this issue could have been rectified if there were more BBQ sauce on the burnt ends. The brisket was very tender and many of the ends had a crispiness to their edges. The BBQ sauce had a nice flavor and was not overly sweet. It just wasn't plentiful enough. Next time, I'll ask if it can be served with additional sauce on the side. My wife ordered another of their Signature Sandwiches, the Turkey Jack Panini ($18). Served with cranberry mayonnaise, tomato, onions, and melted pepper jack on ciabatta with great grill marks, it was a very tasty combination of flavors but still seemed to be lacking something. All their sandwiches are served with a choice of sides. We always choose the Saratoga chips because they are freshly made, very crispy, and not overly salty.
