My family loves to come here when we need to have a filling brunch! Shakey's offers a great all-you-can-eat deal for their pizzas, sides, salads, and drinks. This spot has managed the rush of the brunch hours well and for some extra things like sauces on the side, you just need to ask one of the staff and they will get one for you. Once the pizzas are out on the counter, people will line up for them and pretty much grab them all before the counter empties out! Lol. This is a good spot for watching any sports and hanging out with the family or with a group of people. You are free to choose what you'd like, and they give you plenty of plates to fill up on too. I like that the staff are very nice about extra plates and they are also very efficient at cleaning up tables right away. The bathrooms are always fine. There were three of us and we had not been to a Shakey's restaurant in many years. We incredibly surprised by the delicious and moist fried chicken, and we all enjoyed our meal quite thoroughly. Here for the buffet lunch (all you can eat) special on a Monday afternoon and yikes it was already crowded. Lucky, for us we found a comfy both. There is plenty of food to choose from. Normally even a bad pizza in my opinion is like a 6-7/10 but this was INEDIBLE! it smelled sour and rotton, and the sauce was bitter and moldy tasting. Had Shakey's on 9/21/2025. Ordered the PCM combo with the 2 Large pizzas. Only issue is that the Large looks like the medium is size now. Pizza size use to be 17" now it's a 15" on the short size. Just left Shakey's feeling very angry for the new hire Amiyah she had no help from the 6+ shakey's staff members whom walked around shakey's doing nothing. What can one say but simply that Shakey's is iconic and the original of the pizza parlors! Its is not gourmet in any sense of your imagination, but it's delicious! The iconic buffet with the Mojo potatoes, classic fried chicken and the other typical buffet foods like mashed potatoes, steamed vegetables, rice and more. The pizza varieties are many and there are pizzas for every taste. Cheese, pepperoni, sausage and veggies! The only thing that I do not like is that they serve Pepsi products which I do not care for. It's been years since I've visited a Shakey's. They used to be located all over the Sacramento valley and Bay Area. Unfortunately, that's not the case anymore. I remember visiting with my parents at lunch time when there was no school for their "Bunch of Lunch," buffet that included salad, pizza, fried chicken, and what I remember as being the most delicious MoJo Potatoes! Back in the day, spaghetti was on the buffet line, too. There are some nostalgic signs hanging on the walls along with a painting of the old original Shakey's sign and logo, that brings those memories rushing back... Nowadays, the pasta is along the lines of a penne, and they also offer mashed potatoes and gravy, corn, and mixed veggies. There's no bar anymore where pitchers and mugs of beer are served alongside soda pop. Instead there's a beverage station with a selection of Pepsi products. The cashier was working quickly and efficiently. The bussers were clearing tables and wiping them down regularly. And, the kitchen crew was keeping a good supply and variety of pizza on the line. They were also keeping up on all the other foods. Overall, it was a good visit and a good meal. My memory of the Mojos though is that they were way better back in the 1970's. But maybe that's just my mind playing tricks on me. read more
