This Shakey's is superior to any Shakey's in the 1970s or 1980s. The buffet lunch is plentiful and constantly being backfilled. Pizza, potatoes, salad, fried chicken, etc. are the fare of each day. The restaurant is large and antiseptically clean...throughout. The genuine star of the restaurant is the manager...who is extremely open and welcoming. He oversees everything in the establishment, and appears to be unable to do too much to please his customers. Cannot remember anyone coming close to the manager's style and over=the-top performance in all areas. Thank you for going the extra mile to maintain the highest of standards. read more

I'm a newbie to this location, but no stranger to good eats and excellent customer service. The moment I walked through the door I was greeted by a beautiful soul named Kansas. This lady made me feel like my drive from the Lake was a great choice for dinner. The entire team provided smiles behind their mask as they worked the room. Very satisfied with our visit to Shakey's. An old favorite when we were growing up in Los Angeles. Happy that we have one in Temecula. I brought my kids to the Temecula Shakey's location on Sunday 2/4/24. I ordered the salad bar for myself and individual pizzas for the kids. The salad bar had no actual salad (lettuce), so I let the young man working the register know, and he said they would refill it. The kids ate their pizzas and we spent a while chatting - taking our time while I kept an eye on the salad bar. I understand they were busy at lunchtime on the weekend. A half-hour later, the kids were done eating, so I figured I would just ask for a refund for the salad since that was the only thing I ordered for myself, and they seemed too busy to refill it - so I was not able to eat it. The same young man was at the register, it was a busy day and they were clearly understaffed. Working in customer care myself, and having restaurant experience, I understand and approach the situation in that understanding way. He went to get a manager from the back to process the refund. When she came up, she asked what was going on (as if she had no idea and was inconvenienced), and I explained the situation above. She shot back with a terrible tone and said "Well, we are busy - can you wait 2 minutes for us to refill it!?". I kindly told her that my family is done eating now, so I'd just prefer a refund. She was very rude, and told me to put my card in for the refund in a different machine, around another party who was already in line at the other register. I awkwardly obliged and reached over to put my card in, in front of the other person in line. She did not offer any type of greeting, never apologized, did not invite us back, or ask how our meal was. For them "being busy" being the only consolation she offered, I would hope the manager would come out to assist her staff, and treat the customers with some care and kindness. My kids were sitting in the booth behind me, and were absolutely blown away by her rudeness. This very simple exchange left such an impression on our family. I just wanted you to be aware of the situation. *The young man who was working the cash register solo was very kind and had wonderful manners. He was doing so great juggling everything on his own. We visited this location on 4/28/24 for their lunch buffet. The service is awesome! Food was always coming out. I had asked dawn for a white sauce pizza due to my wife not liking red sauce. With a smile said sure thing and brought it out to us once it was done. The restaurant was busy and tables were cleaned once people left. We had an excellent experience here. Busy place! We went for bunch a lunch it was a fair price $13.00 There we're several large groups there. Not a place to go and try and chit chat it's way too loud for that. The Food was good. Our Favorites were the potato slices, salad bar, pizza and fried chicken. Only one drink machine works the other one is saran wrapped so that caused a line. The Restaurant was clean, they come to the tables to take your dirty plates. Indoor dining and outdoor dining is available as well as a game room. read more

Ohhhh I wish I can give this a 0 haha over half the games are never working and the ones that seem like they will work just take your coins or never give you tickets and they seem to be under staffed( like most places are now in days). This young man handled the ENTIRE packed dining area at dinner, on a Saturday night, with Murrieta Pop Warner celebrating a win. They were crazy busy, and he helped every single person with a smile. This is the second time my family has been here. The employees do work faster and more of a team than another location we regularly dine in. They regularly pick up our empty plates during their lunch buffet hours. They regularly bring out more food and clean plates in the buffet area. The pizza, chicken, and spaghetti taste as expected. Fun place for the kids with the arcade. Pizza is pretty good and compares to BJs. The mojos are a hit with the kids. The place could be cleaner, the floor seemed dirty and there were a lot of dirty tables. Employees would just keep walking by them rather then pick up the dishes and trash and it was a weekday when we went. read more
