The wait staff were very friendly and attentive. The place was packed on Saturday night however the service was still great. They give you Cajun fries on the house. I love their fries super crispy but soft on the inside and the Cajun seasoning is the perfect amount. I ordered snow crabs and shrimp in the Barlic sauce medium and a side of Mac. The sauce was good but I kinda wanted a more garlicky flavor but still good. The Mac was alright def creamy but it needed more flavor. My daughter order the garlic noodle which were good but alittle too salty. The seafood was good and the atmosphere was great. They played great music while you eat. I find the pricing fine given that everything in general is expensive. Def a good spot to try.

definitely the cheapest seafood boil place ive been to in nyc but sadly taste was also prob worse than any other seafood boil ive had in nyc. we got 2 lbs of the head-on shrimp which weren't the freshest and seasoning was ok. the garlic noodles were super salty and were soaked in soy sauce which i dont think im a fan of. also got their flavored lemonades which were only $2.50 but werent mixed so first sip was just flavored syrup. service was great but food kinda dissapointing. also pretty empty inside compared to other spots.

We've ordered delivery from this place several times, and it's consistently good. Their easy-peel shrimp lives up to its name for it's really effortless to peel. Their snow crab legs meet expectations. Dungeness crab was wasn't our favorite, for the meat itself was a bit salty. The crispy wings come with a choice of sauce on the side, which I appreciate since I prefer undressed wings. The side bread is served as a lobster roll style sliced bread, which pairs nicely with the meal. We typically alternate between this spot and Aquaboil across the street, but when Shaking Crab offers their BOGO deal, it's hard to resist!

This was a neat spot to eat at. The food was great, we had the loaded garlic noodles and it was delicious. Our waiter "D" recommended the Hennessy punch and OMG, it's the kind of drink that sneaks up on you. I know when we come back we will visit again. Thanks D

We came here after a semi-disappointing experience at Aqua Boil, so we ordered a similar meal to compare with. The three of us got the combo that came with shrimps, mussels, and crawfish, as recommended by TuTu, given it was our dinner part 2. We were offered cajun fries on the house and the house sauce on the side to try without us asking. The friendly gesture by TuTu was much appreciated. Overall, the food and the service were better than Aqua Boil....not to mention the attractive price. We'll be back again!

I came here for a family member's birthday and we all had an amazing time. The server gave us shots on the house and we really had a good time. The food was nice and hot, plenty of seasoning and the seafood was great and very big pieces. The price was excellent for all the food that we got! I will be back

They triple bagged my order which I appreciate! This wasn't that bad... one of the clusters I got was very salty, barely any meat and seemed old. The other cluster I got was fresh and meaty. The corn was definitely frozen and not fresh. The sauce was also salty. I personally won't be ordering here again.

Beware of this one! 3 different prices, Yelp, printed menu, & menu on their website. We were charged the printed menu pricing which was the highest. Food was ok, service was good, toilet door didn't lock, inconsistent pricing appeared to target tourists, which I've also experienced from side-walk vendors.

It was not a good experience. Overpriced for what they offer. I had a pound of snow crab legs for $35.00. Absolutely no meat inside, thin like sticks and overly drenched in butter sauce. One of the waiters gave us a complimentary drink, served with four straws. Never said what it was, just that it was complimentary. The problem is...it was an alcohol beverage AND there were two teenagers at the table who immediately began sipping away.!!Now they think mom allows them to drink alcohol ...SMDH!! The cat fish was dried asf, the mac n cheese was trash. The entire meal was taken off the bill because it was that bad. Music was chill. Surprisingly, all hip hop. Nothing special about the service. I won't be back that's for sure. PS I didn't bother taking pics, I was too upset.

    Welcome to Shaking Crab

Shaking crab is a cool divey option if you're interested in having seafood, like crabs, shrimp or mussels. There are various options of sauces to go with your seafood option/s. Be ready to crack crabs or peel your shrimp. No ambiance or funny vibes here, just seafood options and they are great for groups large or small to create your own vibe. They provide latex gloves and cleanup wipes for when you're finished, so get cracking and shaking with your crustaceans.

Ambiance: This place has a nice ambiance, definitely very "New York" -- dark (you can't see how dirty the floor is) and loud music (maybe too loud). We sat upstairs (we had a reservation) and of all the people on the top there was a party of 4 (us), a party of 8 (all dudes celebrating something) and the rest of the tables were on a DATE - which I thought was funny. Service: We were served by Ann-Marie who was so delightful. She was kind, super nice, and took the time to speak to us (which is basically how we figured out she wasn't a native New York City person). She gave us good food suggestions and we were very happy with our selection. Food: Here is what we ordered * Steak Frites: My two boys got the steak frites and I have to say the steak was awesome! I had a bite of each of theirs and they each ordered it differently (one Medium Rare/Medium and one Medium) and they both were prepared PERFECTLY. The fries were overflowing. * Caeser Salad with Salmon: My wife got the salad with Salmon (they only have a few salad options) and she enjoyed it. * Prawn and Crab Risotto: I got this and I have to say it was VERY bland. I wouldn't get this if you are looking for taste. I had to put salt and pepper on it to make it have any semblance of taste. Value/Price: I would say this is not over priced but it is not cheap either...bill is attached. I would recommend it to folks who are looking for a good place to either go out on a date or a family type meal.

It's better than it needs to be, which in this neighborhood counts for a lot. The room is the star. Brass, smoked mirrors, marble, wallpaper with burlesque dancers, very Gatsby cosplay but done with actual money. Think the Campbell at Grand Central, minus the $28 martini attitude. It's also LOUD downstairs. Ask for upstairs if you want to hear your date. Gin is the program here and they take it seriously, house-infused bottles paired with specific tonics, not an afterthought. My G&T was legitimately well built. Food from chef JC Colón is better than cocktail-bar standard: truffle fries in duck fat are worth it, the lobster mac at $31 is rich and fine but you've had it before. Skip dessert. The steak frites at $48 is where I'd tap out, that's real-restaurant money for bar food execution. Here's the move though: weekday happy hour, 4 to 7. Dollar oysters and $13 cocktails in a room this pretty is one of the best deals in Midtown, full stop. Service was warm and fast even slammed. Not a destination, but if you're near Bryant Park or seeing a show, this beats everything else within five blocks. Book ahead, walk-ins were getting turned away by 5:30.

I've been coming here for years, and the quality of the food continues to keep me coming back. During this visit, I ran into a recurring issue with my lobster. It was carrying a large amount of roe, which I was actually happy about because I enjoy it and didn't want any of it to go to waste. However, the roe deep inside wasn't fully cooked during the initial steaming process. I had to go back and forth with Ash and the kitchen staff several times, but they remained patient, attentive, and committed to making sure everything was cooked properly. Ash, one of the managers, provided excellent customer service throughout the experience. While I was waiting, he kindly offered me a complimentary cup of New England clam chowder, which was absolutely delicious and very much appreciated since I was starving. Before leaving, I also ordered two more 2 lb. steamed lobsters to go. I explained my concern, and the staff made sure they were thoroughly cooked before packaging them. Both were perfectly prepared and absolutely delicious. I truly appreciate the team's dedication to customer satisfaction and their willingness to make things right. Their excellent service, combined with consistently great seafood, is why I've remained a loyal customer for years. I highly recommend this place and will definitely be back. Thank you!
