I was here with my family for lunch and we had an amazing time. The food was amazing! The chef had a wonderful personality and the ambiance was definitely family friendly!

This place is a hidden gem! It's on a side street off Times Square, I'd not have known without Yelp. Food was really good, prices were great

We came at the late hours for dinner. Looks like this is a generally busy place and there is a long wait if you want to get a seat at the spot to watch some live hibachi cooking. The food was okay. I got hte hibachi chicken which I felt was very dry and salty but it tasted decent. Your mileage will vary for ambience because there is little space between seats so your mood depends on whoever is around you.

I loved everything about this place. First time trying scallion pancakes and I haves tasted one better since! Dumplings fireeeee and salmon was cooked perfectly which seems to be hard to do when cooked hibachi style. Same with the shrimp and steak . Nothing was over cooked or over salted. It all was made to perfection . Now this is the definition of a hole in the wall. It is very easy to miss but try and find it because it is bomb. It apparently is a huge hit because it gets crowded quickly ! And with only 1 hibachi table it is worth it to call in ahead of time

Went for dinner, no reservations but wasn't busy. Had hibachi chef prepare our foods; was just for us 2. He was funny and entertaining but missed a few things im used to at other hibachi (throwing food for you to catch with your mouth, giving us sake, etc) so it could of been better. Food was good, i got steak and shrimp, hubby got chicken and shrimp.

When we arrived at Fuji Hibachi, we were surprised by its size (small) and storefront ( not great). But instead of putting money into the outside, the business has invested in quality staff, good food, and reasonable prices. We had a slight mixup with my Open Door reservation (they didn't have it), but we were early & they had a table for the four of us, and two other parties for a hibachi table of 10 (one of two). Our chef was entertaining, skilled, and quick. We enjoyed our chicken, steak and shrimp dinners with veggies and fried rice. Everything was delicious & we had plenty to eat. There is one unisex bathroom. The restaurant is small and compact - no ambiance to speak of. But the staff is efficient and pleasant. And we had a good time, feeling full when we left.

I've been to a few hibachi places and this place is a little lackluster in comparison. Made a reservation but didn't really need to because they were kinda empty. After we ordered, it took a while for the chef to come out and start his cooking performance. When he did start cooking, he used the grill away and to the left of us, not in front of us. The performance was ok, nothing spectacular. The food was actually pretty good and seasoned well. This place shares space with a dumpling place. Sit at the grill if you want hibachi. The grill area has a good amount of seating. They have 2 hibachi chefs that alternate.

Place was empty when we ate here. Hibachi was great!!! Thai tea was huge and good, Sweet Buns were great, not a fan of the Scallion pancakes, there was just no flavor even with soy sauce.

Came here for some hibachi before a show and the food was solid. The inside of the restaurant is relatively small but it was just big enough to fit a couple hibachi tables. My party and I were seated and servers were quick to get our orders and provide drinks. The chef for our table was kind and entertaining. He engaged with us throughout the dinner. Each of us got salad, fried rice and vegetables along with our choice of protein. I had ordered scallop and shrimp. In terms of condiments, we were provided a gingery soy-like sauce that was suited for steak and chicken and the classic yum-yum sauce which is creamy and tangy - best paired with seafood. The quality of the food was alright, I wouldn't say it was the best hibachi I've ever had but it definitely hit the spot. All in all, it was a lot of food. We left completely full and satisfied with our meal.

I order medium rare steak and he gave me well done. When ask the cook, he denied. Finally, I told him that's well done and he recooked another steak to medium rare. The fried rice had only scrambled eggs. The food is not worth what they charged.

This was my first time at the Fuji Hibachi establishment, and I was impressed with the staff's ability to accommodate my mother's sitting. One of the most delightful times was with our Hibachi chef. our food and the quantity were satisfying as well. Oh, my sister loved her martini! Thank you, Funi Hibachi, for making my sister's birthday pleasurable.

Both hibachi dinner and Chinese dumplings are great choice. Food came out quick and delicious!

Take out - they included a lot of yum yum sauce

To drink, I had a Hot Organic Super Matcha Tea for 4.95. It was alright tea, and I wish teas were included in the price point, as otherwise, this place feels pretty traditional. In terms of food, I only ordered from the seasonal menu, so I'm not sure how the rest of the dishes are, but from what I had, I would go back for a light traditional meal. My appetizer was the Dashimaki Tamago/だし巻まき卵たま, or sweet savory omelet with daikon for $6.98. This came with three pieces along with a little dollop of grated radish. The pieces had a light sweetness to them along with a bit of savoriness. They were juicy and a bit bouncy while maintaining some softness. This was standard and good. My main dish was the $19.98 Beef Tan Tan Udon, or ground sirloin beef, spicy broth, baby bok choy, kikurage mushroom, scallions, and sesame seeds. While I have preferred udon from spots like Raku, the udon had a mild chew to it, and they were still good. The broth had a mix of sweetness and spiciness with a nice depth of flavor. The vegetables inside tasted fresh, and the meat added some richness. This was good as well. I wouldn't recommend going out of your way to go here, but the food was good. If you're in the area and looking for no frills Japanese dining in a more comfortable atmosphere at pretty decent Midtown East prices, I would recommend this place.
