They advertise same day service, but in order to accomplish that, they'd actually have to return your voice mail. Called at 8:30AM to discover hours are 9-5pm. Left a message as instructed. No return call so I tried two other times after 9AM. Still no one answering their phone. It's now after 5pm, their entire workday has passed and they are now closed and still no return call Update: 3 business days later. Still no return call from Shamrock . Andrew arrived to repair my ice maker on time and looked professional. After looking over the issue, he gave me a couple different ways I could go about the repair. He informed me that there was a class action lawsuit regarding my particular model and was very knowledgeable. I then gave him my decision on what I wanted replaced. He immediately went out and got the parts and returned promptly to do the repair. I typically don't like small talk with people doing work in my house. It's just seems awkward. But not with Andrew. We discussed everything from different appliances to solving World Peace. lol He was a pleasure to have in my home. The job was done and was on his way! I now have ice again! Hooray! And I saved almost $100 from what I had been quoted by his competitors. The only thing I was unhappy with was scheduling. It took longer than I expected to receive a callback from the secretary. And when I missed her call and tried to call back (twice) , no one would answer. But don't let that discourage you. The actual technicians seem to be top notch! tl;dr : Honest, upfront, affordable, knowledgable. My top-of-the-line 3-year-old Whirlpool fridge was having serious issues. The fridge side would go between freezing everything and getting up to 50-some degrees and everything would spoil. Also, the water filter for the water & ice was spewing water all over the inside of the fridge. Called and Shamrock sent out Mike. He took a look at it and in less than 10 minutes found the cause of both problems: the damper unit (which controls airflow from the freezer side to the fridge side) was bad, and when the fridge side froze, one of the water lines cracked. When he called to get the replacement parts, he found out that the damper was on a nationwide backorder. He said that if I wanted, he could replace the water lines that day, but since it was likely to happen again since the damper was bad, he couldn't warranty the work. He recommended waiting and getting it all done at once. He left me the part numbers and a list of places online to check for the parts. The service call was less than $50. Mike's knowledge, honesty, and no-pressure approach were priceless. Once I found the parts (including a damper of a newer, less flawed design... thanks for nothing, Whirlpool!), I was able to install them myself, but if I ever need work on appliances again, I know I'll be calling Shamrock. read more

Our dishwasher wasn't working and I needed a minor tweak to the dryer, I called Shamrock on Thursday afternoon, they had Jason, the most amazing repair man EVER, at my house at 8:30 the next morning. He is so professional, so courteous, explained exactly what was going on in terms that were clear and easy to understand, and had everything fixed and working in a couple hours. Very happy I called Shamrock Appliance Repair! They came out to check out our dryer 24 hours after I called them. He was on time and called about 10 min before arriving. I asked if I could sweep the inside of the unit before he put it back together. He said absolutely and while he was working and I was doing something else he cleaned it out and even used my sweeper. I was extremely impressed with Shamrock Applicance Repair. They returned with a phone call my online request for a technician to come look at my dryer that was not working properly in a timely manner. I requested that they come before 1pm on Thursday they arrived at 10:30am on Thursday and they called 15 min before and let me know They were on their way. My technician was professional, friendly and Competent. He found the problem and fixed the dryer in about 40min Plus fixed a vent that was attached to the dryer. We had Shamrock come out to repair a refrigerator. They diagnosed the problem and ordered a replacement part that "could only come directly from LG in Korea." It took three weeks to get the part. When it arrived, it was the wrong color but I didn't care because I didn't want to wait another three weeks. After it was installed by the technician who didn't realize anything was wrong, the refrigerator still didn't work. I took it off and realized it was the wrong part. They then ordered a replacement and it took another four weeks to get it only for it to be the same wrong part again. They then realized THEY ordered the wrong part twice so I ordered it myself from someone else and installed it myself (it was located in the US and I got it in two days. They refused to order the part from there and said I would have to wait for weeks again). I have since requested a refund for the part I pre-paid for and the repair cost since they never actually repaired my unit. After that initial request, I haven't hear back from them. I've called dozens of times, left a number of voicemails, and nobody answers the phone/calls me back. I don't know how they are able to operate as a business because nobody has answered the phone or returned a call for over a month. AVOID THEM AT ALL COSTS. read more

Shamrock has given us excellent service. We have had them out twice for our ice maker (once to replace it and once because it wasn't working - they fixed it and now it's fine). Today was extra terrific as we couldn't get the plastic cover off to replace the light bulb in our frig. He quickly diagnosed the issue as a bad heating element, replaced it, and inspected everything else and cleaned the dryer while he had it taken apart. Overall a great experience. The defrost drain was clogged. The tech (Brian) offered to replace the drain with a more reliable mechanism for about $270 and we agreed. Turned out the drain wasn't available so he showed me how to clean it out (pretty easy) and how to defrost the drain line (messy) and cut the cost to $180 + tax. Nice. Didn't complain. read more

The water dispenser and ice maker went out on our fridge and Josh diagnosed the problem quickly and accurately. Turns out that the part was harder to find than expected, but rather than wait for a week on an ordered part, Josh called around to multiple places the same day and found what we needed. He had other service visits to make and picked up our part (long out of his way, I'm sure) and came back around 6:30pm to make the repair the same day! It was a long day for him, but it was nice to have our fridge back in shape in just one day. Plus, he's just a nice nice guy and very professional. Very friendly to our curious young son who watched him make his repairs. Normally we would have winced at a $200 cost, but with Josh, we could just tell that we were getting the best service and that his price was fair. Do not use this company. We had an issue with a refrigerator that was said to be able to be fixed by the company. The technician came out and tried to fix the issue. After saying the issue was fixed, a few days later, our refrigerator again would not keep it's temperature. This led to hundreds of dollars worth of food lost, breast milk lost for our newborn son and stress from being led to believe our refrigerator issue was fixed. I had a technician come out 2 additional times, with the issue still not resolved. We also spent hundreds of dollars ti "repair" the refrigerator. The company would not refund this money even though the parts and repair was under warranty. When I tried to contact the owner to formally request a refund, I received no response. After several attempts without success to contact the company, I then contacted the BBB. The owners never responded to my complaint with the BBB about their lack of repair to our refrigerator and not honoring the warranty in place. This company has lost their accreditation with the BBB from lack of response to costumer complaints. Upon the recommendation of the BBB, a complaint has also been filed with the Ohio Attorney General's office. This company has not responded to any communication from myself, the BBB, or the Ohio Attorney General's office with regard to issues with service and product. Save yourself a lot of time, money and stress- go elsewhere for appliance repair. read more

I had a problem with my Frigidaire dryer overheating and showing error code 64. I didn't have a repair person so I did some searching on Google and found reviews on Yelp. I prefer to use a local business, so I called Shamrock Appliance. Josh came out and knew exactly what was wrong and replaced the part. He looked at the dryer vent and suggested it be cleaned since it hadn't been in over 20 years!! I am scheduling that appointment now. Our dryer started making a horrible noise on Sunday night. I called Shamrock on Monday morning and Josh arrived within an hour. He diagnosed the problem, drove to Clintonville to get the parts, came back and had our dryer fixed by 12:30 PM. Josh quoted me the total cost for parts before he went to pick them up. When he returned, he explained that the parts were actually sold together in a kit, so the cost was going to be $20 cheaper than his original quote. What a stand up guy!
