I had a nightmare trying to work with Capital City Appliance, as we have a Thermador dishwasher, and finding a company that services them is very, very difficult. CCA was provided as a "shrug, I guess they work on them" reference from our contractor network. The service person that came out did shoddy work and was going to replace the disposal. The phone service was....well....ugly. Unprofessional. And unable to fulfill the most basic of requirements, such as emailing a quote. Going through Appliance Guy was a breath of fresh air. Aiden, who looked at the dishwasher, spent his time thoughtfully analyzing the issue and applying his years of experience to pinpoint the issue. While CCA wanted to replace the disposal at an exorbitant fee for labor. Contrast to Aidan, who didn't think there was a hardware problem, but rather clogging due to us using the wrong type of detergent and rinse aid. He gave further pointers and how we can resolve this ourselves. If it ends up being hardware, their work has a 30 day guarantee, so it would be covered under the original service trip. I'm in a special circumstance, and having my dishwasher down even a few days is highly challenging for our family. Going through CCA cost me now at least 3 weeks, and who knows how long until I would have gotten an updated estimate so I could properly file though my home appliance warranty company. This transaction was one of the easiest and smoothest I've ever encountered with an appliance repair technician. I am reasonably familiar with appliances and had a general idea of the culprit of the problem with our washer. I had called several other services whose earliest availability was 5-7 days away. We have a large household and there is only so much "turn it inside out and wear it again" we can handle (joking). The search continued... Through visiting the www.theapplianceguyservice.com website, I was able to send a text message and explain our situation and my suspicion. It was after closing hours when I sent the message but he responded first thing the next morning. He gave me a price for manufacturer parts and installation and was honest enough to tell me that we could probably get the repair cheaper going with an aftermarket part and another service. I wanted the manufacturer's part, so his price -- even with the manufacturer's part -- was VERY reasonable. As promised, he was at our home within the hour. I also explained our COVID situation (high-risk household members) and he was MORE than willing to accommodate our request for him to wear a mask. He was in and out within an hour and charged us exactly what he had quoted. He was very friendly, accommodating, professional, and efficient. Jamie Stone repaired our clothes dryer (thermostat & heating element replaced) for about half the cost of buying a new dryer. Very courteous and effectient. Dryer now works like new. ONE WORD: WOW!!!!! On the night of 4/10/13, I reached into my fridge and realized that nothing was cool. I put a thermometer in there and saw that the temp was 60 degrees! I emailed Andrew the Appliance Guy at 11:13 PM, he called at 7:20 AM, diagnosed the problem and gave me a high/low estimate, arrived at 12PM and all was fixed within 30-45 minutes. So, my huge problem was fixed within 5 business hours. I do my best to support local, non "big box" contractors. Let me tell you, Andrew was not only responsive, communicative, honest and reasonably priced, he is simply just an all around good guy. As a single female, I felt comfortable having him in my home. So professional! I needed my dryer repaired and Andrew was fantastic. He called to say he was running ahead of schedule so he arrived early. He identified the problem quickly and he already had all the parts necessary to make the repair. The appointment was for 10am and he was done by 9:55. He checked to make sure the vent was blowing air properly out of the back of my house. He even helped clear out the stuff that had collected behind the dryer. Superb service and very professional.
