Editing this to add that for the past few months one of the owners named Daniel M. of Shamrock Auto Trim has been sending me harassing messages via Yelp, none of which I have responded to. What a class act company (said with thick sarcasm). We were advised to speak to Shamrock Trim Shop in regards to our antique car. The initial conversation placed us with the owner, Kathy. Kathy was rude and didn't provide much information. It seemed like she was just there to answer the phones and give basic information. Her son, Lee, then got on the phone. Lee was very unsure of his abilities to perform the services we needed, but was very confident in his abilities to offer an amount to be charged. He did not fully understand the scope of the work and was speaking in the tone of a "Low Rider type shop" dialect continuing to advise "you know what I'm saying, yo" or "you know what I mean" type of tone. I was waiting for him to end with "you know what I mean Holmes" or some slang like that. He didn't really explain what he was going to do, only that he would feel comfortable with a $12,000.00 cost to me. When I questioned what the $12,000.00 would be billed for, he did not have a clear or precise estimate and only continued to say he could do the job for $12,000.00. What would our $12,000.00 get for us? After spending over an hour on the phone with him and, in my opinion, not receiving much information other than how great their service was, that they were a great shop, and that he could do the job for $12,000.00. I was unsure of Shamrock Trim Shop's ability to perform the services we needed so I called back and asked for Lee again. Once again Kathy (Lee's mother) picked up the phone and passed the phone to Lee. I heard in the background Kathy telling Lee to "hurry up and not waste a lot of time on the phone again... either book the job or let's not continue." This project was important to me and I felt they should have been able to provide professional information and not continue to just say yes we can do the job, but offer no estimate as to what the shop would be doing or offer any estimate at all other than a verbal $12,000.00. Again, a lot of time was spent organizing information and providing it to Lee and his mother. We reluctantly agreed after spending a lot of time in communications with Shamrock to move forward with the job. Now speaking to Lee he began to remove things saying well we don't do wood work and we don't do this and we don't do that. Then he and Kathy advised that they didn't want to be held to the $12,000.00 estimate. They basically wanted an open checkbook to be able to do whatever they wanted and charge whatever they wanted without providing a written estimate or list of detail as to what work we would be receiving. They had the audacity to state that since we only wanted to place a small amount of $3,000.00 down and didn't want to trust them in a no cap final billing they could not move forward. In my opinion, this shop is not very professional, does not have the confidence or professional ability to be restoring cars, and is outright rude. I would highly suggest not using this company and from beginning communications with Kathy and Lee you will understand they do not treat consumers with respect or professionalism. Stay away from this rude, unprofessional trim shop. They will waste a lot of your time and the end result will most likely be a waste of time. read more

I have worked with this family business, Shamrock Auto Trim of North Miami Beach, for over thirty years and have never been disappointed. They have always been honest and straightforward with no surprises. I have always been presented with an estimate and a promise date. They have worked on all of my vehicles over the years including my boat. I had them restore my 1975 Mercedes SL convertible. They installed new wool carpet, upholstery, door panels and a convertible top. I remember when I took my ten year old car into the Mercedes dealer and they thought it was brand new! I wish I still had that car but I remember how happy I felt after working with this family of craftsmen. They were very detailed and delivered on every promise. I used Shamrock to rebuild all the cushions for my boat. They suggested using a different color instead of the boring factory white that always looked dirty. The cushions fit tight and looked better than factory. I love the new color Dan suggested. They showed me how the original builder used steel staples and rusted. They used stainless steel staples and the staples have never rusted again. Again, attention to detail. I also had them build a custom motorcycle seat for my show bike. They removed the cover and I returned the next day for a fitting. That is personal service and attention to detail. I really did not have any idea about design or color for the seat and they walked me though different options. They took out materials and placed them on the bike to give me a better idea how different colors would look. That really helped instead of trying to pick a color off a small sample chip. Once I decided on a color they had stitch pattern samples that they placed on the bike. I still was unsure so Dan stepped in and showed me some pictures of other bike seats that they had done in the past. I was really thankful for all the time that they spent explaining the options. The end result is that I am constantly asked who did your seat? I am never been shy about promoting this business and carry cards for them! They are the nicest family and I look forward to working with them again! read more

I have a collection of exotic cars that I have trusted with Shamrock for over 20 years. They have changed my Ferrari seats that looked better than new. Replaced various convertible tops on different cars and I have always been 100% satisfied. Refurbished a 1961 Mercedes 190 SL interior. This is a family run business, and you feel it the minute you walk in the door. They know you, they care, and they are very clear about expectations. If they feel that something that you are suggesting is not a good idea, they will tell you, even if it means thousands of dollars in business that they don't get. One of the reviews discusses a phone conversation that they were not happy with. How can any shop make a determination over the phone? I think this reviewer is incorrect about their conclusion. It is unfair. They are a great crew of people who love what they do. A dying breed in my view. If I went to a dealership (which I have done), you are a number, not a name. And most likely in Miami, the dealers send their work to Shamrock!! read more

I have brought numerous projects to Shamrock over the years and I will continue to do so as long as I have a need. My latest project is only one example as to why. I bought a used motorcycle seat and brought it to Shamrock to be re-covered. I selected the leather and design and was given a price that as usually I found more than reasonable. I received a call the next day advising me that when the old cover was removed the foam padding was in terrible shape. It was rotted and falling apart. They advised me that they would need to replace the foam and would be doing so at no additional cost to me. They had me come by the shop so they could cut the foam to me. It was not only one of the best looking seats, but one of the most comfortable as well. Thank you Lee and Randy for your honest and exemplary work. I can't say enough good things about the people working at Shamrock Auto Trim! I took my car there originally to get my headliner replaced, which they did a great job on. About a month later, I noticed there was leaking along my headliner, and thought it might be related (it wasn't). The people at Shamrock were kind enough to take a look at my car anyway. Over several days they inspected my sunroof's tubes, cleared out the sunroof's tubes, inspected the wind shield, found the leak origin, used a sealant to fix the leak, and put my headliner back. Throughout the process they were incredibly helpful and kind helping me solve a problem they hadn't even caused. Their customer service was amazing, keeping me up to date about any development, and they gave me a great deal for all the work they did. You can't get a better upholstery shop than Shamrock! I have used them after being referred from a prior customer. They have the best customer service and really understand what you really want. Randy even went out of his way to come to my house and pick up the parts I needed reupholstered. When it was completed and not only looked great the price was the lowest estimate I received when looking for estimates. I am really happy I choose shamrock auto trim. Shamrock renewed the headliner and renovated the front seats of my Honda. At the same time they cleaned the leather rear seats and cleaned the interior of the car for no additional cost. They did a fantastic job at a fair price.
