Came here on a Monday night & wasn't busy. & The spot felt very local to the community. Great hole in the wall grocery store & restaurant spot! I appreciate that there is a big wall of the menu that had pictures of all the different foods to make ordering easy. The food was flavorful & had just a right amount of spice. I was a bit disappointed with the paratha, taste was there but texture fell flat with how hard it was. The restaurant up felt very homey with plenty of seating. The service was attentive & ambiance pretty quiet for a late dinner.

Love their nahari paaya bheja kaleji gurde - perfect in the downtown, best for lazy Saturday afternoon. Excellent service.

Good food. I would recommend them for Pakistani traditional breakfast of Halwa Puri. It's mostly a restaurant with an attached grocery store. Menu is extensive with multiple options. I also liked their Paya and Nehari. Although the ambiance setting is not the greatest but it's a clean environment with delicious food. They do have a limited parking. Over all I will recommend them.

We got the chicken curry and it was really oily, we are a little throw off when we saw the amount of oil there was and the chicken spine.

A favorite for years. Try the nihari, the maash ki daal. On weekends/brunch the halwa Puri and parathas as delightful.

We tried their chicken dosa, aloo samosa, and mutton thali. I love dosas but I think I prefer dosas from a different restaurant in the neighborhood. However, the mutton thali was delicious and I would come back here just for that. Which makes sense, it's in the name. I will be back!

I arrive within twenty-one minutes buying only a quarter's worth of time at the parking meter thinking surely that would be enough time to grab my carryout order? Guys, why was I waiting an additional twenty minutes for food when nobody was in this restaurant? I hate when a restaurant draaaaaaags without giving any reasons. Thali shops have literal fast food. Not in the American sense but the foods are as simple as crepes (dosa) served with chutney. The other items would need more time. Curries, biriyani, etc Ordered an onion dosa and a masala dosa. Texture was different from what I'm accustomed to eating. But I'm wanting something similar to South Indian style. The onion dosa contained what looked like a full, medium sized onion. In Southie style it should be pan fried till brown, sometimes incorporated into the dosa or stuffed inside, this was barely translucent. Didn't slap. The masala dosa was mid. Didn't touch much. Hate throwing away food but.. Not wasting the stomach on barely good. Something about the texture of the dosa wasn't... It just wasn't good. One and done. If a restaurant offers dosa, it's gotta be great. Maybe their other foods are better?

Unfortunately they were out of the tingmo, so I got the garlic naan instead. My partner got the chow mein with chicken (fair warning, the chow mein noodles are spicy!) I also got the masala tea and it was prepared the traditional way, you can tell because as it cools it forms a skin on the top. Our order was slightly delayed, so they gave us a complimentary dessert. I won't wait as long to come back next time.

However, they are not without their kinks that need to be worked out - growing pains, if you will. I ordered the Butter Chicken with rice. Getting the food took somewhere between 10-15 minutes. I am going to assume it was made fresh, but considering it was just rice, chicken in sauce, and a couple veggie slices, I couldn't tell you for sure. With the veggie slices, I am left wondering "why?" It was a couple slices of carrot and cucumber. They lacked any kind of preparation or seasoning (not even salt), and took up half the tray. Again, why? The rice, meanwhile, was cooked perfectly. It wasn't at all sticky, and each grain could be seperated. The issue here is with portion size. Rice not only serves as a carb/starch element, but also works to absorb sauce. While I don't like it, I understand why a business would skimp on proteins... but skimping on rice seems, for lack of a better term, inappropriate. Then we come to the protein. There was an ample amount of chicken. The meat itself was tender, and the sauce had good flavor. While not mind-blowing, it had a mild heat, and light tomato, cream, and spice notes. While I would have liked the flavors to be bolder, I cannot in good conscious call the dish bland. Finally, there is the matter of price. After tax, the Butter Chicken came to just over $14. Even though I appreciate that nothing is cheap anymore, this felt a little excessive considering the quality and quantity of food I received. Final verdict: While Kathmandu Cafe had great potential, andn I am especially looking forward to trying their momo, as well as their Tibetan menu, where it comes to the Indian side of their menu, I do not feel a draw to return and order more.

We ordered a lot of food including goat biryani, chicken Kashmiri and highway goat Karahi. To our surprise goat Karahi was really skimpy quantity and when we started eating it almost90% of the goat pieces were all bones with very little flesh remain it. Together with the skimpy quantity and all boney pieces we were very disappointed. Chicken Kashmiri was of pretty good taste. We ordered a card different naans and some were left uncooked. Goat biryani was simply terrible and very very mediocre to bad taste. We also ordered a chicken kabob and they were so undercooked that we had to call them and we asked about it. They said they would replace it but we were not interested because we were so disappointed. Overall we are very disappointed Go try other options of similar food all around Devon Ave. Bundoo Khan is way overrated and we will not be going there again.
