Ok it was a busy day. Valentine's Day 2016 and there were a lot of customers, mostly couples, browsing and trying things on. So needless to say the sales associates were busy. The salesperson who offered us help was wide-eyed, friendly, and clearly overwhelmed. We had stopped by to hook together my wife's wedding band and engagement rings since the cooler temps shrunk her fingers and the rings were spinning when she wore them. The sales agents explained the process of connecting the two rings temporarily and the cost (which I baulked at considering what I had already spent on rings) but we agreed to proceed. So she took the rings to the back for the work that should only take 10 minutest to complete. While we waited we were offered the complimentary water and cookies that Shane's offers all their customers. After standing around for about 15 minutes I caught the eye and attention of the same eager sales associate and her response upon reaching my wife and I really frustrated me and bewildered my wife; "How may I help you?" "WTF!!!" I'm poised and ready to "go off" on this eager sales associate but thankfully my wife piped up first and reminded her that she took her rings to the back for repair and we wanted to know if they were done with the process. The agent apologizes for being forgetful and tells us that she lost track of the rings since they just dump the rings on a table in the back for minor repairs and cleaning. After all the money I spent on those rings you tell me that you simply dump them all on a table in the back to be cleaned???? I am not happy! Shane's gets no more of my money. read more

***UPDATE*** Audrey at Shane Co reached out to me before all this covid stuff happened. After the covid shut down, she got back with me and gave me a full refund to have damage repaired to my ring. Thank you for your time, concern and the ability to have my ring fixed my way. ---------------- Beware and check your jewelry THROUGHLY before you leave this place. I recently moved from Ohio back to Georgia. I noticed that my center diamond was slightly loose so I stopped wearing it and asked everyone I know who they would recommend here ( the ring was bought in Ohio ). Most people said Shane Co. I went in yesterday to see if they could help me out. My ring is only two years old, by the way. I work from home so this ring has not had a hard life. After aimlessly walking around for about 15 minutes a nice gentleman came up to me and I told him my problem. He said let's see. He took it from me and went to a room with a window and grabbed something to put the ring on, came back out then said let's clean it. He took it back into the room with the window and came back out. He told to me that he also noticed the center stone was slightly loose so he said let's take it to the back and see. I didn't follow him completely, though I know now that should have. He came back and it looked okay. The center stone wasn't loose anymore but you could tell they had clamped down on the prongs. I SHOULD HAVE WALKED RIGHT BACK IN AT THAT POINT. I got home and noticed that a tiny diamond on the halo had fallen out. It was right next to the prong that was now bent. I have no doubt that this is due to them trying to make a quick fix. I took it back in today, right when they opened and presented my problem. The woman and a man that heard my issue went behind a door to "to see what they could do". After a few moments, the woman and man come back out to tell me that since the ring is not from them, there's nothing they could do and that I would have to pay for the fix. There were no apologies, no one saying we'll help pay or give you a couple free cleanings or inspections. Nothing. This is terrible customer service. The quote I was given was partial BS and to replace the tiny diamond wasn't too expensive. That's not the point. I came in for help, not for a quick fix. Like I'm going to leave my ring with you inconsiderate people to "fix"... I can only assume that if you're not a customer of theirs they don't respect new prospective customers. What a joke. Own up Shane Co and have better documentation when customers bring in their jewelry. I'll be going back to my jeweler in Ohio and will not set foot into a Shane Company again. Thank read more

UPDATE After my initial review I wanted to update and say that Shane Co. made everything right and actually surprised me. They wound up not only fixing my ring but they also removed the charge for it. In the age of horrible customer service Shane Co. did right to fix the issue. ---------- Don't let the ads fool you. You do have a friend in the diamond business, a friend that will stab you in the back the week before the wedding. Bought my fiancée and my ring there. The "sales associate" told us that the ring we got for myself was great and "There would be no issues in sizing, just come in the week before and everything will be fine" Turned out to be a complete and utter lie. They could size my ring but there would be a gap which I didn't want. They also "were not" sure if they could get my ring in time for the wedding so they tried to pawn off a completely different ring that did not match at all. I'm so happy that my wife went to Shane company. I love that I can go in whenever I want to have my rings cleaned. My first experience; my wife took me in to look at settings and see what I would be interested in. The customer service associate (will include name when I remember) was amazing! He knew the price range and didn't try to push us into anything else. He really got to know us and did not make me feel any different way when I expressed that I wasn't a big jewelry person and would honestly rather spend money on a kayak than a big ring. We found the perfect setting and my wife went back in a few days later to pick out the diamond. She found the most wonderful stone that was clean and clear. By far one of the best jewelry chains i have ever visited. Will be coming back here for all my jewlery needs. For those that dont know, Shane Co pays its employee's strictly on an hourly pay. And they pay a premium price (most employee's start around $17 an hour). Because of this, they dont make commission. No commission means no high pressure sales tactics like you might find at other jewelers such as Signet locations (Jared, Kays, Zales, etc). I went in and asked to look at engagement rings. The male staff member i spoke with was very kind and knowledgable. He asked my price range and brought me a few loose diamonds to look at. I told him i liked on but the others did not suit me. He asked what was wrong with them and after i explained what i didnt like about them he brought out a few more diamonds that had everything i was looking for. The price point on most items in the store is very reasonable. Of course they have large and expensive high quality diamonds if that is something you are looking for, but they also have diamonds of every size and every price for everyone. When i told him i was leaving there was no pressure for me to buy. He asked if there was anything else he could show me then kindly gave me his card with the info of the diamonds i had liked on it. Went here looking for an engagement ring and a watch for myself. Don't be fooled by their "we don't haggle" gimmicks. Their prices were outrageously high, and on top of that because I didn't tell them I had done my homework on diamonds, I was essentially spoon fed a very basic course that was false. The saleslady was nice, but basically told me that the cut and clarity are not important, because it's where they buy the diamonds that matters. The whole thing sounded unusual. I'm a previous jewelry sales person (having worked for a competitor of these guys) with JBAR certification and 5 years of jewelry appraising skills under my belt. [Disclaimer: I am NOT an employee of shane co nor paid or told to provide this review-- I truly had a top-notch review to give these guys that they earned!] I brought my love of 3+ years here to shop for her perfect ring. After just a couple minutes on a busy day, our sales guy came to assist us. Super down to earth, zero pressure environment where my lady was able to pick out some settings, try a few different loose stones. The environment: Very classy, upscale feel. Professional appearance, clean showroom, and even some perks like free coffee which me and my lady enjoyed while browsing. Some folks would say it's overkill, but if I'm dropping thousands on a ring, it's nice to know the store puts a nice effort to present a good image. The staff: Very friendly, my sales guy was no non-sense. He didn't overkill me with education as I told him I was a previous sales person myself. I did ask a few questions on diamond choices and band choices, which he put full effort to answer. After telling him our budget, he was aware that we were searching for something my lady liked but that I also knew would work price wise. We got a beautiful (I mean rock solid [no pun intended]) H color, I1 .79ct round at $2,200. Certified, Very Good Cut, beautiful radiance / glistening in the light--AND the inclusion was on the corner so we knew we could mount a prong over it to hide most of it. This was exactly what I was looking for and our sales guy brought out our perfect stone. They will mount it for free, with a free lifetime warranty, and she can come in anytime for cleanings and polishings. It's nice to not pay a premium for these. I took the time to view the diamond under a jewelers loop and compare the color. Although diamond grading is subjective, the stone in my opinion was graded the same way I would have done it myself as an appraiser. My lady gave me a resounding YES when I said if she wanted it. She cared about sparkle, I cared about the details, this stone was it! Overall: As much as I dislike their commercials, I've always heard good things about Shaneco when I was previously employed at another jewelry store. Tom Paquette went out of his way, above and beyond for me and my, now, fiance to make sure her ring was perfect. I went to Shane Co after visiting a few other Jewelers and had an ok experiences with the others. At other Jewelers they hound you like used car salesmen, trying to make you buy the upgraded (most of the time, uglier) ring. With Shane Co not being driven by commission, they are amazing to work with and work as a team to best serve you. We had found a ring that my fiance had fallen in love with at another store (don't want to name the place but for some reason "He" went there, whoever "He" is, he made a mistake) and when i went back a couple days later to buy the ring, they let me know they sold it and there are no others anywhere. So after panicking, i went back into the store and they told me they could make one but for 8-10k... right... Many years ago, I bought a tennis bracelet at the Shane Company. I've worn the heck out of it, and over time, it began requiring repairs, since the links began to break. One day, I was at the store, and the manager noticed I had been in a few times, and she asked me if she could help. After she heard my story, she completely replaced my old tennis bracelet with a brand new one. Same appraised value, and didn't charge me a thing. She said it was their goal to have their customers be completely satisfied with their purchases. I never imagined that meant for as long as I owned the bracelet! My wife and I are about to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary and I wanted to get her engagement and wedding set re-mounted. I wanted Platinum since her last set was white gold and started to turn yellow (which is normal). I also wanted to do this ring "right" and have something that will last her forever. We went in and initially spoke with Meagan and she showed us everything they had in Platinum, which was a decent-sized selection. I liked how she gave us the little shopping "cart" holder and only kept the sets that my wife absolutely loved - this made the decision process much easier. I had a budget of about $3000 in mind, but my wife found a set that was about $5500 that she kept going back to. She is not the type of person who wants the most extravagant thing, she would have been perfectly fine with the smaller set that was her second choice, but when I saw her eyes light up when she put the other set on, I couldn't resist. Meagan brought in another associate to help us, I suppose because we started asking some more "involved" questions. This was fine, as Misty really understood what we wanted and helped a lot. She went and got a loose Emerald-cut diamond about the same size as my wife's and put it into the settings so we could see what it looked like. There was no rush and she answered all of our questions thoroughly. We told her that we lived a good ways away and she said they would have it done that day if we wanted it. We ended up getting that set and it turned out incredibly beautiful. While we were waiting for the jeweler to put the original diamond into the new setting, Misty asked what we were doing with the old set. I mentioned that I would probably put it in the safe deposit box and maybe let one of our sons use it one day if they wanted. She said that she wanted to show us something and took us over to where there were some loose sapphires and put one in the setting and it was gorgeous. We ended up buying a sapphire and had it mounted in the original setting, which was a great thing because my wife can wear that ring on her other hand and it won't be sitting in a safe deposit box not being enjoyed. We also ended up buying me a replacement Platinum wedding band while we were there, which the last two purchases were totally unexpected. I say that not to complain about anyone being "pushy" which is totally not the case. Quite the opposite, but what I liked is that Misty gave us other ideas that were more suggestions and they made such good sense that we ended up taking them. I love Shane Co! (Read my other 5 -Star Shane Co. review for all the wonderful reasons). This location though, I'm not a big fan of at all. But due to the unfortunate closure of my favorite Shane Co. in Marietta, I'm stuck with these guys. My last visit caused me much emotional distress. I came to get my rings cleaned (one of the perks; free cleaning and polishing!). Usually, I roll in, hand over my rings, and 20 minutes later I walk away with my jewelry looking sparkly new. Well, this time, I rolled in and was told by the very snobbish Manager that I would have to leave my rings overnight for cleaning and return the next business day to pick them up. Hunh? I know it only takes 20 minutes on a busy day! Surely he didn't realize that every time I feel for my very precious rings and they're not there I have a near panic attack. Surely he didn't know that I drove a descent distance from my house to get to that location and surely didn't want to make that drive again. Surely he must realize that this new policy sucks! Is it a ploy, I don't know? I saw multiple people decide not to get their jewelry cleaned because they were either uncomfortable leaving their jewelry or didn't want to make the journey back to the store... or for whatever personal reason, they decided against it. I hate the new policy and the attitude that comes with it. Customer service first Shane Co! Give the customer an option; maybe there is a "rush" fee for same day service or maybe you can just drop the new policy? read more

I went with my fiance to look for engagement/bridal sets last week. We were greeted by a woman who didn't seem very knowledgeable about the merchandise. Perhaps she was new. This woman showed me a couple of rings and said that another salesperson would be better at showing the rest to me. I had narrowed the ring I wanted to purchase down to two. This male salesman was very annoying the whole time. He kept telling me stories about how horrible some of his other customers were and we told them that wasn't important to us. We were there to buy jewelry, not hear about other people. He then had another salesman come over so they could retell the story for us, which again, we told them that it wasn't important to us and we didn't need to hear about the story. This annoying salesperson also told us about how people go to the other stores in the area and badmouthed those companies, which was helpful because that's where we went after we left. We told him we were ready to buy, but before that, he needed to teach us about the four C's, and that would take a while. We assured him we were already knowledgeable about this because it's true, but he told us that he needed to make sure we knew about it by sitting with us and that may take about half an hour. He then continued to talk about how so many people don't understand how they need to buy their jewelry from there instead of others because the other places will lose everything and they have no warranties. After this, we just left because it was just a waste of time. It seemed like we would never be able to check out. I wanted to just get a different salesperson, but I figured that would be a hassle and he would just continue talking bad about other people. That's why we bought elsewhere. Point of story: If you decide to go there, don't go to the guy who has been there for four years and has a strong accent. He will not sell you anything. read more
