Sauces need to be cleaned. Disgusting gunk under the lids. Make it part of every opening or closing. Food took 25+ minutes to get. "Kitchen is slow. (plus eye roll)" No bottles of honey BBQ available. "We don't want to open a bottle, so I'll bring you some containers." It's more costly. Staff needs much better training and leadership. Picked Shane's as a good looking spot to stop for what we were hoping was good BBQ while on a weekend trip in the area. Easy parking, great/friendly and staff that was patient with first timers. Settled on a Shack Sampler (what else do you do when you can't decide?), with Coleslaw, Baked Beans, and threw in some Peach Cobbler for good measure to make sure were stuff by the time we left (spoiler alert; we were stuffed!). The sampler was great. Now, would I say it's the best BBQ in the entire world, well, no, but that's not what we were looking for! We wanted a great meal, and an affordable price, and we were not disappointed in the least. Ribs, pulled pork, and chicken tenders were just the doctor ordered! And, while we "ain't from these parts", and we may not really know (yet) what peach cobbler should be, for me it was the only thing that was slightly disappointing. I guess I expect some peaches in my peach cobbler (there may have been one or two slivers of peach, maybe). However, overall, I would NOT hesitate to return for another feast. The staff was very friendly and polite as we entered the building. The menu was easy to read and useful to choose a meal for whatever a customer is desiring. The dining room and bathrooms were clean and free of odors and trash. The pulled pork was very good as was their different sauces. The only reason I gave 4/5 stars is because the baked beans lacked a flavor that I'd expect from Shane's Rib Shack. If that's fixed by my next visit I'd gladly award 5 stars to the Elijay store. Love, Shane's rib shack here in Ellijay, Georgia, everybody's always friendly. The food comes out hot and tasty. It just has a really good vibe in the restaurant. Nice restaurant that gets BBQ right, but the sides are kind of lacking. Tried the pulled pork plate, which was great and a huge serving. My buddy and I also tried the gluten-free, half-rack ribs, which he said was really good, but I thought was a bit dry and not as meaty as some restaurants. Sides: I don't recommend the coleslaw, just too runny and ground-up too much. Green beans were to be expected. The Texas toast was a nice bonus. Sauces are important at a BBQ place and this place sells their varieties in bottles, so clearly they are desired. What I didn't understand is why during Covid they aren't asking what flavor sauce we want. Then when I went up for more and asked for honey they gave me one, but the other was more original sauce. Maybe the honey flavor is limited like gold. The atmosphere is good inside and they also have a screened outside area for when weather is nice. Drinks are varied out of a standard dispenser with Mr Pibb, Barq's root beer and Cherry Coke being my favorites. They also have several teas. Service is order at counter and they call your name. Only comment was I was already done with my entire meal before my buddy's gluten-free ribs came out. Good thing I didn't wait or mine would have been cold. They explained they had to clean the entire grill, which is more than many restaurants do. Overall I would go back, just try a different side item. read more

I keep hoping they would update the quality of their food because of the negative reviews but I guess not. I had the sampler platter today. The pork and fried chicken tenders were very good. The ribs needed some work. You would think a "Rib Shack" would serve killer ribs, but not here. The bones were not seasoned, bland and would not separate. They still had the back membrane attached which is common here. I took them home, seasoned them, wrapped them in tin foil and baked for two hours at 250. They were 100 times better and the meat fell off the bone. Maybe the owners should take lessons from Texas Roadhouse. Avoid the ribs. The other food items are ok. read more

The food was moist. I was not a fan on the mac and cheese but my son was as he ate my helping on top of his own. He also loved his grilled cheese. I had the big dad pulled pork and the Texas toast was toasted just right and you could taste the butter which was delicious. my husband had the chicken tender sandwich and the chicken fingers were huge. He had to take one off just so he could fit the sandwich in his mouth. My son had the Shaniac which is a cheeseburger with pulled pork and cole slaw. He said it was good but it was messy. The inside ambiance is so so but it is considered a shack so I won't roast them on that one. The portions were big for the prices. For a family of four it was under 50 with a tip which is great for my wallet. The service was good and they were quick to bring out the food. read more

Easy to get find and park. Good and accurate service. Plenty of seating at dinner time. Clean dining and bathroom facilities. Ordering is done at the front. The menu is on the wall in large lettering. Inside dining offers free refills at the tea station with extra BBQ sauce there too. Napkins provided on the tables. I chose 10 chicken wings, 5 teriyaki and 5 lemon pepper Parmesan. I will get these as a combo every time if available. I also tried the ribs, but they were not my favorite although still good. 100% on the wings though! read more

I entered an online order and showed up at the drive up on time to pick up my order. The wait was 30 minutes long and they still got my order wrong. So a word of caution if you are hoping for a quick pick up. Food was decent but not enough to warrant such a long wait. read more

While in Elijay, craving some good BBQ and decided to give Shane's Rib Shack a try. Must say we were pleasantly surprised! We had the Shane's sampler which consisted of baby back ribs, chicken tenders, and pulled pork. The ribs were a tiny bit dry with some burnt parts but otherwise tasty, the pulled pork very flavorful. This dish came with two sides: I had the coleslaw and fried okra. The coleslaw was very good, fried okra crispy and came out hot. Our son had chicken wings, which he enjoyed! Overall great spot, friendly service, food came out quick too. We will be back when in Elijay again! read more

came here after a long day of working hard, wanted to enjoy a nice meal with some old friends. and we got booed at , we were verbally harassed by this man in a ponytail who i think is the manager. we got stared at the entire time which made us very uncomfortable. they tried to make us eat our food outside. children screaming in the back, playing "WAP" by megan thee stallion. someone was making barf sounds, i asked for boneless wings and got cut up tenders. everyone hated their meal, one of us even has food poisoning. avoid this place at all costs. read more

The best ribs I've ever enjoyed. I'm usually a beef brisket kinda gal, but if I am ever lucky enough to eat at Shane's again, Ribs. Shane's catered a recent family celebration. Great food, great service. And, p.s., the mac n cheese is almost as good as the ribs. read more
