Went here on 12/23/23 and was sick for two days with diarrhea and vomiting. Never again and no I wasn't sick prior to eating from here

Not too busy, polite employees. My first time trying Shane's. I ordered a walk up to-go order ( couple lbs bbq pork and 2 large sides). Took over 20 min. , saw quite a few other customers walk up with online to go orders only to be told " it's being prepared". They were still waiting after after I got my order. Pork being the highlight of me being there was kinda squishy but not over cooked, lacked any sort of traditional southern bbq smokey flavor. Sides were decent portions but nothing special. Can't say I'll be be back or recommend. What I ordered tasted just plain average in my opinion. read more

Terrible! My mother and I order the smoked wings and baked beans. First off, the wings were not smoked they were completely burnt. So hard and nasty we couldn't even enjoy it, and the beans had 0 flavor. Nothing like the Shane's in the metro area where we live. This Shane's should just close down. Food used to be great here. The chicken fingers are half the size they were a year ago, and the prices are all up 30% or more. The wait times are generally longer and one if the speakers has been blown out for months so the music sounds horrible. I come here about once a week. That'll change. Also, they refill their Heinz ketchup bottles with cheap ketchup and leave the Heinz label on. Shady. read more

Just had Uber eats deliver dinner from Shane's for three of us. I was not impressed. Ribs and pulled pork was dry and over cooked. The green beans were burnt which is hard to imagine how that happened. We ordered fries, sweet potato fries and onion rings and did not get any ketchup. I am not sure how they put our order together with food in that condition and feel good about it. read more

If yall can't handle the heat, get out of the kitchen: Let me preface by saying that Shane's was always my go-to when it comes to take-out. I've ordered the rib plate from there more times than I can count because it is to die for. I used to genuinely consider myself a big fan, I know someone who used to work there, I was even gonna ask them to get me a T shirt or something to show my support. I was obsessed. Then Covid happened. Ever since quarantine, the quality from Shane's (when delivered by Uber Eats) has been lackluster to be kind. The overall tastiness of the food has gone down, almost as if to imply someone in the kitchen has stopped trying. The last 3 times I ordered I got no bbq sauce, so had to choke down the fries dry. This didn't wouldn't to be a problem usually, since the fries from Shane's are usually fresh, crispy and nicely salted. But this last order I just got just kept the trend going in decline of quality. Bearing my last 3 instances of 'forgotten' sauce in mind, I specifically requested extra sauces in the notes menu of Uber eats, thinking that if I made a special note, they'd give me something to dip my fries in this time. Instead of the 2 or 3 cups of sauce I expected in requesting them specifically, I got 0. Again. So no big deal right? I'll just eat the fries dry again, they aren't too bad on their own. Except now the fries have changed too. Chewy. Cold. UNSALTED. Cardboard. What is happening Shane's? I used to love you guys and am genuinely worried for the business if this keeps up. I got the Shaniac Burger, payed a lot more than a normal burger costs knowing full well the extra pulled pork on it is probably very expensive and adds to the price. My burger came with no pork. Instead of a serving of pork I was helped to an extra serving of coleslaw. What was supposed to be a burger showed up as a fucking salad with some buns and a bit of patty in between. I almost spit it out first bite, but am a struggling/starving college student whose dollar HAS to carry it's weight, so I scraped off the mountain of coleslaw and choked it down. Can't say the same about the fries, there's some things you can't force into your body no matter how hungry you are. Like cardboard. The only reason I left 2 stars instead if 1 is because I WANT to see this restaurant prosper. I WANT to be able to see a Shane's in any state I visit, and grab a rib plate wherever I am. But this is not the way. I don't have a lot of money so I can't be spending what I do have on places that prove time and time again they've given up in the face of this pandemic. I love their bbq, delicious, fries, tea...it's awesome, but we recently ordered hamburgers and mine was missing all the toppings, lettuce,tomato and onion and the meat was VERY salty, it was like a mouth full of ocean water every bite, BUT being that their bbq is so good and service is always so good i have to give 5 stars because let's be honest, it happens. read more

I love Shane's. Their barbecue is delicious and fat chunk free, unlike some places. Sure, it's not pit cooked or smoked like many classic southern bbq places do it, but it's still a great option for casual barbecue on the go. In this town, Shane 's comes second only to Vandy's, and it is an admittedly stark difference. However, the food here is good for what it is. The interior is updated and inviting. The service is always excellent. The sauce is very different from any of the competition. The sides are pretty delicious as well. It may not be the absolute best in town, but it is still very much worth trying for yourself. You're likely to find yourself coming back for more like I have. read more

3 different types of sweet tea....HELL YES! The BBQ is wonderful. The hot wings are a nice vinegar base so I liked them a lot. My daughter had their shack wrap and it was huge and delicious ( i tried everyones food lol ) The price is really good. we feed 6 adults and a child for $60 that includes tax drinks etc. The food for the price is outstanding. Nice place, great fried okra, baked beans and BBQ. The staff there are super nice and considerate. Ate there three times after my son had surgery and we were staying across the street and had a pleasant time at every visit. read more

I've eaten at Shane's many times in the past but yesterday was the best food I've EVER had from Shane's. I'm not sure if they have a new cook or changed their recipes but the food was incredible. I was hesitant to go due to Covid but they had every other table closed and when you order, they assign you a table number. Somehow I found this wonderful place off the beaten path. What a pleasant surprise. Where to start? I first had a cheese burger with fries. The Cheeseburger was so big, I took half of it home. I don't know what they do to those fries, but they are crispy, seasoned and hot. Perfect! Onto the onion rings. Just heavenly. My mother in law can make a large order disappear! So tasty! The bbq is, of course, great, with yummy sauces. I have a salad waiting for me that I picked after appointments in town. Looks good-can't wait too dig in! Don't forget the friendly staff! Was not clean, especially the bathrooms. My fries were cold and the ribs were tough --- worst I've eaten. Ever. Anywhere. No one checked to see if everything was ok. It seemed as if it was college kids and no manager on duty. Disappointing $50 spent. Will not be going back. read more

Came here tonight to eat and it was the worse experience. My cousin and I ordered the Sampler: chicken tenders, pulled pork, ribs and 2 sides. Our order came out and it was incorrect. I had grilled chicken tenders on my plate with pulled chicken. The young lady came out and told us to switch tenders. Oops mistake. My husband is a chef that is a no no. Went to eat my pulled pork and it was chicken. I asked her to bring me just an order of pulled pork you can't take my plate and swap things. Walked up to register to ask to speak with manager and I could hear her in the kitchen talking about me. Another young man came out and apologized and refunded me my money. This chick was rude and unprofessional. My cousin and friend ate but the food was cold. Last night in GA and this placed ruined my mood. read more

The ribs are always good. Mac and cheese is probably the worst side they have. Overall its pretty consistent.

Been to this Shane's several times. Barbecue is mediocre, at best. Sides tend to be greasy and cold, except the green beans, which have too much pepper and stay hot for about three days (must be served boiling). Tried a hamburger, ribs, and chicken fingers on our last trip. Burger was borderline burned. Ribs tasted like they had been reheated. Chicken fingers were tough and greasy. Also, way too expensive for what you get. They should be charging around $5, not $10. Lastly, the men's restroom smelled like it hadn't been cleaned properly in a while. The sweet tea was awesome but, the service was awful. After being told they were out of chicken and BBQ, we decided to stay and have ribs. After waiting 25 minutes for our food - they announced they had chicken AND BBQ. So I just should have kept the $8 plate instead of the $14 plate. The food is good and the service is good. Their chicken fingers are very tasty as are their ribs and sides are pretty good as well. Not fantastic barbeque, but certainly not bad. Prices are reasonable, but not great. It can get crowded at times. read more

What a SUPER disappointment! And Embarrassment! Ordered 4 racks of ribs and 20 wings tonight for my Food Network guests/family as an example of good Southern BBQ. Both meats were flat, obviously lacked any smoked cooking environment. Doused the meat in what sauce was provided and decided $95. Take out doused in dollar store sauce is nothing more than a sad disappointment in the world of southern BBQ. Monday I will resurrect the legend and take all to Vandy's downtown. read more

Pretty good food but for some reason there is never any ice for your drinks. Every time I come here the machine is always out.
