Cantonese BBQ Roast Pork 叉燒 per pound 每磅

We stopped by to get some BBQ pork to take home. Very fast service as there was no line up. You order from the staff at the counter then take the slip to pay inside with the cashier. The lady cashier said something about giving us a discount ( we got 20% off ). The meat was very tasty but it was a bit too lean ( my own fault as I could have asked to choose another piece ). I will remember to do that next time.

I got a number of items on my visit to Shanghai You Garden! I had their scallion pancake, turnip cake, seafood udon, shrimp dumpling, shrimp rice rolls, and potstickers. I think my favorites were the rice rolls, turnip cake, and the shrimp dumpling. I like that they also give a number of free things! I got their soup dumplings and a dessert. I would describe the dessert as a sweet egg drop soup with tangyuan.

Overall, the dishes we ordered were very good. We ordered the sea bass specialty, pan fried noodle with shredded chicken, soup dumplings, scallion pancake with beef, sticky rice sui mai style, sui mai, crab filled pan fried dumplings, mochi balls filled with salted egg, roast pork and pea shoots. Service was fast. And I loved the free duck baos and dessert soup!

All points considered, still solid spot to frequent for Shanghai cuisine cravings They have regular menu, they have takeout menu, bbq/prepared meats menu, and dim sum menu A lot of variety, there's likely something for everyone. When I went this time they didnt have my favorite rice rolls or Peking duck promo. Understandably so since Chinese new years is around the corner. I still had majority of what I wanted to try and all were spot on. Very good food Service was busy, but speedy. Food was plated in front of you almost the moment you ordered it. Very quick service and packed when I went in the afternoon. The peak hours on the weekends Interior has decent amount of seating with enough spacing between tables. There's like a privacy screen between tables too which was nice Overall great spot, worth the trip

Always have a great time here. We go probably once a month and it's consistently good. We tried some new stuff this time like the pork cabbage but we always get the soup dumplings, roast pig, and roast duck because they're the best.

Came here to bayside location for some Soup dumplings. We decided to be adventurous this time and order new items. We ordered spicy beef and tripe, crab noodles and crab pan fried buns. This all came with an order of free soup dumplings. The spicy beef and tripe was served as a cold appetizer. We would have enjoy it more if it was served hot. We also ordered the crab roe noodles, this was interesting to try. It was very tasty for the first bites. As for the crab pan fried buns (new menu item), we got this because we love pan fried buns especially the one in new rold mall food court. This was not as good as that but decent for Shanghai You Garden. Overall, we kind of wished we got our usual order but still had a fun time here as always. They accept venmo and zelle in case you forget cash like I did haha

I became obsessed with Roast + Crispy Pork over Rice in Q4 2025. I decided to visit this place which I've gone past for over 10 years. The food was a bit salty, but it still hit the spot and was a GREAT value. I ordered and it was practically ready. Will definitely becoming again to hit that craving

Definitely a place to visit when in bayside and if you are craving Chinese food. They have a lot of seats and kinda have a dim sum vibe when you walk in. We ordered a huge spread of food and as always, the food here is great. I personally just did not enjoy the spare ribs and the duck slices seemed a lot thinner than usual. Other than that, the noodles were great and came with a side of peanut sauce, one of my favorites. The wontons were nice and juicy as well as had a nice kick. And my absolute favorite, the grandma braised pork. That is basically why I always go to Shanghai you garden. I think their braised pork is one of the best I've had and the quail eggs are nice and tender and have a very nice pop to them. The service is good. They will go over as soon as they can when you wave them over.

Most of the items at this place are poorly done, the majority of items here are either way too tough or too oily, with that said this place is a solid option for one thing and one thing only, their soup dumplings. Came here several times to order their soup dumplings, I love the fact that they give a complementary order of soup dumplings with orders over a certain amount, and a complimentary dessert soup. For 10 dollars you can get two orders of soup dumplings and a complimentary dessert, which really is a steal with how expensive everything is now a days

A classic for sure. I just wish they didn't get all nitpicky over my bird (which was in a carrier so it couldn't get out). It kind of ruined my dinner because I had to worry about if my bird was freezing in my car. Also the seating is pretty tight. Also it's cash or Zelle only. However the food was really legit good. There are some dishes you can't find in other places. The malantou was my favorite app. The jellyfish with turnips had interesting consistency and was not bland. The roast beef app was good but did not stand out. The soup dumplings were delicious too, the pork was complimentary and Classic delicious and the crab was deliciously savory. I also really enjoyed the Peking duck and ham hock. The duck was cooked nicely crispy and ham hock had a nice balance of fat and meat. Did not really like the lions head, was more dry than tender. Also they were out of most greens except for bok Choy, which was cooked perfectly. The pickled cabbage fish soup was standard, not my favorite. But the bowl it was served in was cool - a fish. Also appreciated they got us some free dessert - sweet dumpling soup. Overall will come back and try other things!

AFFORDABLE EATS!!! All of this food for ONLY $24.99 + tips?! We didn't finish it! If you spend $10+ and have a group of 7+, each person gets a free Peking duck sandwich, but if you're less than 7 people, you get an order of pork Xiao long bao that comes in 6 pieces. The food was filled and the service was great! They came and checked on us every so often and inquired if we needed anything. This place is also accessibility is friendly. It's connected to the Peking Duck Stall. Also loved the decorations and music choices. I found some new songs to add to my playlist. 10/10 would recommend

Bbq pork, steamed dumplings, soy sauce chicken and peking duck sandwiches were very tasty!! This place requires a wait- especially on weekends! You have to take a # and they will hand you a buzzer. Meanwhile, majority of the dishes are solid. This is one of the most IG/tiktok mentioned places for NYC cheap eats. Decor doesnt seem that way but our dinner for 4 ppl was $57! I have not tipped just $10 in a looong time for a dinner in a while! So because of that, I'd give more gratuities since service was great- wait staff were attentive. Plus they gave free things- sounded complicated like if you ordered $10 worth of food- which is a bit unreal to NOT order over $10 for dinner, esp in this economy. Not sure what's up with that but so nice they provide cool stuff like this for customers! The rest of the reviews are all over IG and tiktok - they summarize it all a lot better with visuals .

Well, seems to be an annual visit around my birthday since we discovered the Flushing location back in 2017 attending Lady Gagaga's Citi Field concert. I was very surprised how busy this place was, we had to wait for a table, not very long, but In any case we ordered: Shanghai Special Chicken (cold), Sautéed Crystal Shrimp, Shanghai Sautéed Pork Fried Rice with Vegetables, Soup Dumpling with Pork (2X), Fermented Glutinous Rice (dessert), Shanghai Pan Fried Udon Noodle, Nest Style Cashew Chicken and Steamed Roast Pork Bun Once the orders were placed, within a few minutes the first items started to arrive - special chicken, soup dumplings... all delicious & some leftovers to take home. Love this place even though it's 45 - 60 minute drive. It will not break the family bank.

Now there are some standout dishes that absolutely shine. Here's my top 3. * The Soup Dumplings. These are worth the visit alone. The skin is thin and light, offering just enough structure to hold in the deeply savory and satisfying broth and filling. * The Dry noodles. The noodle dishes are well prepared and I have a clear preference here. Opt for the dry noodle variations. Unfortunately, the soupy noodle dishes fell a bit flat as the broth, while perhaps visually appealing, was surprisingly tasteless and lacked depth of flavor, IMHO of course. So Stick to the dry versions. * The Thick-Cut Pork Belly. Wow! The meat is cooked to tender perfection. The fat renders beautifully, creating a melt-in-your-mouth texture, while the meat remains succulent. The saltiness is not overly salty, but seasoned deeply enough to enhance the rich pork flavor without overwhelming it. This dish is a masterclass in balance and indulgence. Ishanghai offers delicious, authentic Shanghainese cuisine with some truly exceptional items on the menu. Some notable must haves are the scallion pancakes with beef, pork chive dumplings, crispy pork chops and shredded pork with rice cakes. Don't forget to order from the $5 daily dim sum specials (Dine in only) offered between 11-2:30pm. A great Shanghainese restaurant in the Bayside Hills area that is worth the trip!

Family favorite dim sum spot for almost 10 years!…read more We love coming here for weekend dim sum and occasionally dinner. Their fried dim sum dishes are great! Also, after 11:00am, the kitchen opens so you can order any rice, noodles, and other main dish items to go with your dim sum. Our favorite dim sum items include: - Taro with salted egg yolk bun(?) - Fried shrimp rolls (ha tiew) - Fried shrimp wrapped in bean curd And our favorite main dishes: - lobster fried sticky rice (they make it the best here!) - peking pork chops - honey walnut shrimp - fried small fish (shown in picture, not sure of name) You can't go wrong if you come here for dim sum or dinner. Plus, I feel like they're always open even in inclement weather. Other tips: There is a small parking lot in the back, but we usually do street parking as their parking lot is hard to get in/out of! If you come on the weekends, try to come before 11:30am to guarantee a table without a wait.

I also have not been here for a while and decided to update my previous review since my experience this time was much better. We came as a group of seven for dim sum today. It was MLK's Day, so the restaurant was quite busy. With that said, I'm not sure why much of the food was served barely warm or room temperature. Thankfully, the taste of many items were quite good. That included the Pork Stuffed Tofu Skin, Salted Egg Lava Buns, Phoenix Claws (chicken feet), and Fried Fish Paste Dumplings. Everything else was fine in general, except the Sesame Balls and Fried Sticky Rice were underwhelming. Honestly, I wouldn't drive this far out to have dim sum when I have plenty of options in Flushing. However, it's nice to know that I have a decent option if I'm in this neck of the woods.
