Our kitty Farty started bleeding one day, stopped eating and moving. We took him to an emergency vet, and they basically said there was nothing they could do, and he was fine. After 3 days or trying to get to eat, drink, ect we, we feared that we would have to put him down. He was fading quickly, and we hated watching him suffer. My mom wanted to try and took him here, and thanks to the doctors collaborating and trying to figure out what was wrong, they were able to bring him back to his old self after weeks of care. He had a severe undiagnosed UTI, hyperthyroidism, and possible IBD. He was on deaths door, we were so heartbroken, and because of the caring of this vet, they were able to bring him back to his old self. I also recently brought my kitty Tiny in a panic due to her not keeping any food or liquid down, and they fit me in and were extremely understanding even though they were short staffed that day. This is the best vet I've been too and I always feel listened to, and I feel like they care about the animals so much. Every time I'm here, the phones are ringing off the hook, and I can see why. This is possibly the best vet in the area.

We went to a couple of places, one even where you can watch on an app that was closer to us, but when we went to visit the place, we did not like the "vibe" of the place. When we took a tour (just call, and they will let you take a look at the facility before hand) of Paws Landing, we immediately felt great! We had our puppy for an half day "evaluation" with Durenda, which also made us feel at ease. She is marvelous!!! When we picked her up from that, she went over everything she did, and how she thought our puppy would do. They had her in a small yard first and let our puppy feel safe before they had her with the other dogs. I really like too, how they have the dogs separated into "small dogs", " large dogs" and "very active dogs". She has a great team working with her, watching over them, and most importantly taking care of them all day. They will always send you a text and email to confirm your reservation, which is great. They go inside and outside to play all day. If they go "all day" they will get a 2-hour rest, so they get a break from all the fun! But, believe me, when you pick your dog, they will be tired when they get home, which is "good thing"! Pam will send you pictures later via text of your dog, which is great to see at the end of the day. Now, that my dog has gone for awhile, she gets excited when we get there, and she is excited to see Pam and her team when I drop her off. Look no further for a great place for "doggy day care", Pam and her team will take VERY GOOD care of them, like they were one of their own!!!

One visit I'm told what's wrong with my dog, and then later it's presented as something completely different without a clear explanation. Instead of leaving with confidence, I leave feeling confused. One experience that really stood out was when the veterinarian said my dog's skin was glowing under the light because of ringworm. She told me she was showing me, but moved the light so quickly that I never actually saw what she was referring to. When I said I didn't see anything, I still wasn't given a clear explanation. It left me feeling like I was expected to just accept what I was being told without understanding it. Communication has also been very inconsistent. I've had about four different staff members give me different answers about how many DAPP vaccines my dog needed. When I explained that my dog had already received the previous doses and only needed one more, I was simply told, "Well, that's up to the vet." It's expected that the staff should have consistent information, but that doesn't seem to happen. Overall, I feel like communication is poor and concerns aren't taken seriously and they try to milk you for money. Because of these experiences, I've decided to take my dogs elsewhere for future care. Please be very vigilant and pay attention to how they respond because I caught on.

It's claimed I berated their receptionist wit profanity when actually I was berating the situation. The receptionist took it upon herself to to become offended at me being upset. After I canceled an upcoming appointment telling them I would take my business elsewhere. I received a return call where I was told I was no longer welcome there with my other Animals (that they have received THOUSANDS of dollars for treating in the past two years) as if they are on some type of higher moral grounds with their demonstration of fake compassion and empathy for MONEY. So the takeaway from all this is to understand there is no loyalty points or frequent user awards given here if you show you're a real person and get upset or see their act for what it is - they will simply let your animals die rather than care for them. In addition if they can survive and be fine without the thousands and thousands of dollars I spend there annually, they obviously don't need your money either. Apparently they have pulled the wool over enough people eyes and hold enough medication for ransom from sick animals to keep them in the $$$ for quite some time. Unfortunately, the needless death of Bloomers the chicken is inevitable. Ironically, I doubt the needless death of Bloomers will have near the emotional effect on their receptionist as one of their customers getting upset. They may need to relearn to fake their understanding and compassion to include the fact that people get angry and upset at times. Beware! you are being recorded and they will threaten to use those recording to attempt undermining any negative review. Perhaps be aware of any other undisclosed recording devices being used at this establishment, you just never know.

My dog was lifted in and out of my vehicle by me, my dog has not been subject to any unusual day to day activities since I picked her up. She started exhibiting her symptoms as soon as we got home. Previous stays have resulted in Urinary tract infections in both my dogs on separate occasions which leads me to believe my dogs weren't getting adequate water and their room wasn't kept adequately clean. BUT the owner of the facility basically told me I was a crappy per owner and they could have come to boarding already sick. (Total bs). My Great Dane has come home with screaming raw abrasions on her elbows more than once and I'm pretty sure it's because they remove all bedding from the room HOURS before they get picked up and she is forced to lay on the concrete. I tried to voice each concern with the owner separately in a phone call, not only was he flippant and rude, he barely let me get a word in edgewise over his constant excuse making. He pretty much told me to never bring my pets back to the facility as they'd be better off without my business, and I sure as hell won't be! I worked for a 13 room luxury boarding facility for 2 years before we moved to Texas. Never in my life have I dealt with someone so nasty and rude.

I called my pets veterinarian office in the presence of the same staffer who checked me out. I paid $75.00 for an emergency visit. Upon completion of my visit to the veterinarian, I returned and told the same woman my dog has an eye infection which she did not have when I dropped them off. I presented her with the receipt from the visit and requested reimbursement. She said she'd let the owner know. NO ONE FROM THE ESTABLISHMENT HAD THE COURTESY To CONTACT ME AND ASK HOW MY DOG IS DOING. Jerome the owner requested that I get my dogs veterinarian to write something stating that they caused the problem. REALLY? They identified the problem and treated my dog along with prescription. My biggest problem is no staff could say when they first saw the problem with my dog. They had my veterinarian information they had 2 different contact phone numbers . I left a small bag of IAMS dog food , when I picked my dogs up I was given the bag of food almost with the same amount of food in it. Both of my dogs lost 1 1/2 - 2 pounds and I have the proof. It's very obvious they weren't fed as I informed they are self fed. Bottom line, Board here and hope nothing happens. Lesson learned, I'll board at the luxury pet hotel next time. They give you a link to your dogs room and because they have nothing to hide, you can check in on your pet children at any time and see how they are doing. It will be worth it.

TERRIBlE EXPERIENCE AT SHANGRI PAW RESULTING IN INJURY TO MY DOG!! $ UNSAFE I am extremely disappointed with my experience at Shangri-Paw Dog Daycare in Harker Heights. I boarded my two dogs there, and the experience turned out to be distressing and frustrating. 1. Unsafe Conditions: My dog, Patton, sustained a serious injury while in their care. They placed him in a kennel with a piece of sharp, broken wood, which caused a severe cut on his side which the vet said was blunt force trauma and required surgery and stitching. This injury required an emergency visit to the vet, costing me $635.50, not including the boarding fee which resulted in this injury. 2. Unprofessional Response: Rather than taking responsibility for the unsafe conditions, the facility's staff insisted that our other dog "pushed" Patton into the sharp piece of wood, which was told to us by staff this wood was broken when our due to a previous dog and was never repaired. They refused to release my other dog until the vet bill was paid and continued to demand payment for the boarding stay. 3. Poor Communication: The owner was on vacation and refused to discuss the situation directly. Despite my repeated requests, they would not provide access to the video footage or photos that could have clarified how the injury occurred. 4. Financial Exploitation: On top of the distress and additional vet expenses, I was left feeling exploited as I was forced to pay for services that clearly did not meet basic safety standards and return home immediately, costing additional money in airfare. Overall, I would strongly advise against using Shangri-Paw Dog Daycare. The lack of accountability and poor customer service made a difficult situation even worse. I hope they take these concerns seriously and make the necessary changes to prevent such incidents in the future. read more

I would not recommend this business to anyone I know. We had our dog there for awhile and the owner was disrespectful and doesn't care about his customers needs or the situations that they are in. The prices are too much to be dealing with people like that. But after reading the reviews this obviously is how he acts towards anyone. read more

Recently visited this store to purchase tropical fish. A prominently posted sign on a tank…read moreindicated that all tropical fish and plants were 40% off. The person who retrieved my fish selections confirmed the info on the sign about the 40% off and told me which tanks that applied to. I got a couple of higher priced fish from those tanks knowing that the discount would help with the cost. When I got to check out the cashier told me that discount was only for their Rewards customers .. which I am not nor wish to be. I do not have an issue with complying with store policies IF I know in advance what they are. All they had to do was put the words "for Rewards Customers" on the sign. I suspect that the store is trying to take advantage of customers who would not pay attention to what price was charged at check out. Not only is this a bad business practice, the store lost a sale and I will use one of the other pet stores in the area. And I suspect continuing this misinformation will not help you compete with PetCo or PetSmart, Which BTW are just a 15 minute drive from your location. I read some of the negative reviews before doing this one. Mr. Business Manager. Respectfully Sir, if you choose to reply, please know that I am not your "neighbor". I am the customer with the money to spend and help your bottom line P & L. I, like others here, are educated consumers that know the value of positive or negative social media comments.
