Lamana's knows what they are doing. We packed our personal items, so the crew only had to move the furniture & boxes. They just needed us to direct them as to placement in our new house. In all, the entire process took about 5 hours. We should note my husband is immune compromised and all staff took precautions when it came to pandemic precautions. We are grateful for their professionalism and concern, in this regard. There was a GREAT article about Lamana's in the Albany Times Union on 9/2/20, this is a multigenerational family run business and they deserve the high praise and recognition. I've already passed them on to another friend who will be moving in the near future and to our realtor. I do recommend calling & booking as soon as you have a closing date. Also, our household goods arrived in excellent condition without evidence of shifting, which to me indicates that the driver took great care in hauling the load. On both ends, the drivers also worked to position the trailer in the most advantageous spot for loading and unloading. The three days to load and unload are more than ample if you are organized ahead of time in your planned packing and unpacking. As a final note, everyone I spoke with in making the reservation and throughout the move was professional, personable, and helpful. For me, and possibly for you, U-Pack made my move as stress-free as possible.

We had an issue when it came to delivering our two trailers. They did give us a range of dates that we could expect our trailers to arrive, which was fine. I received an email that stated our trailers would be delivered on Saturday, but I wanted to make sure so I called the distribution center which stated that "no they were not going to be there on Saturday", but expect them on the following Monday. Now I had to hire a forklift at $300 a day and a couple of workers (which I paid) to help unload. Monday came and no trailers, so I called the distribution center again. I was told they would be there Tuesday. When they didn't arrive by noon I called again, and I was told that they would definitely be there Wednesday morning. By 11am on Wednesday I called again and at this point I was told that they would be there around 3ish. It gets dark at 5 so now I have possibly 2 hours to unload and I now have paid 5 days of a forklift and 3 days of help. I called U-Pack directly and after explaining my situation I was given some money back. All in all I was satisfied with everything, except being basically lied to as to when my trailers would be delivered.

Movers didn't show up the day of the move after getting the permits for no parking, arranging time off of work and family members to help. They charged me to come back the next day and move things around so it was more manageable. Then I started noticing all the damage to several pieces of furniture. However there are now gouges and scrapes on the edges of all my tables and the frame fell off the glass from the bottom door of the barrister bookcase. When I contacted the owner as stated in his contract for damaged furniture, he said he was sorry I felt this way , they did a great job and to send him the court date.

I have no complaints for the actual move of the items, none whatsoever. They were careful and worked fairly fast. Crew is A++++++. My only advice would be to ensure to get the size of truck and any other prices up front. This move ended being a lot more expensive than I had budgeted for. I was moving from a 2 br to a house, I was expecting one large truck but ended up being a smaller Penske truck. This led to having to do two trips. The biggest expense was the fact that I was charged for travel time, round trip for the time it took them to get to my place and time it took to go back to Clifton park after the move, which amounted to one more hour. This expense was never mentioned so it would have helped to know it ahead of time.
