Tiny's has some terrific ice cream! I've been here a few times and the last time I came I got an Ice Americano and added a scoop of Vanilla Caramel Crunch. They have so many options of ice creams and great service. The drink I had tasted refreshing with the right amount of boldness from the espresso/water and sweetness from the scoop I had on top. Tiny's lives on its adorable namesake and picturesque storefront. This particular location doesn't have any seating. Ordering is at a farmhouse-esque window and pickup at an adjacent window. Lines can be long and customer service individualized, so wait times are variable. Tiny's chocolate cookies are my preferred variety: soft and moist center, slightly crispy edges, on the thinner side rather than stacked like the Levain's version. There are plenty of chocolate chips, but the fragrant dough flavor still comes through (unpopular opinion, but it's still my favorite part). The chocolate white chip version is also good, though slightly drier given the chocolate powder in the dough. I like the ice cream flavors at Tiny's, especially the fresh strawberry and fresh mint, which boast of true fruity strawberry and herbal mint. The creaminess is fine, but definitely not the most decadent in a city that is obsessed with ice cream. Coffee is merely passable, and I've tried a variety of lattes and seasonal drinks. It's just too acidic for me. The matcha is abysmal, murky and dusty tasting rather than the fresh fragrant matcha I've been spoiled by in Japan and specialty matcha stores. I tried the seasonal earl grey matcha with vanilla cold foam, and it was probably the worst drink I've had in recent memory. In addition to the dusty matcha, the earl grey syrup was sickly sweet and artificial tasting. The vanilla cold foam on top was straight chalk, super powdery tasting with a hint of vanilla aftertaste. I tried really hard to take more than two sips of this drink, especially at $8 a pop, but just couldn't get past the unpleasant combination. Even with the famous namesake of cookies, Tiny's claim to fame in my mind used to be its dark chunky brownies. Those things were decadent, dark, and insanely satisfying. The cocoa was so dense that the brownie slabs were close to black, yet somehow the texture was still the perfect balance of chewy and moist. The edge pieces are always my favorite, but I'd even eat the middle because the whole chunk was so dang good. Then.. Tiny's changed the recipe, and now its brownies are a shadow of what they used to be. The new version is made with lighter (perhaps not Dutch processed?) cocoa powder that tastes mildly of chocolate compared to its predecessor, and the texture is crumbly bordering on dry. It's a shame and definitely cut my visits to Tiny's by more than half. I'll come back for the cookies, maybe have the ice cream in a pinch, avoid the drinks (especially matcha), and continue to mourn the loss of the prior dark brownie supreme. read more

I didn't do my research so when I came to this location, I thought it was the one closest to Tiny Boxwood, but instead I was next to Tiny No. 5 (which ended up working out for the better). I decided on 2 cookies & a kids sized cocoa. Service was pleasant and as I waited, it was nice to see regulars walking up for their everyday fix. Lots of kids and dogs so it's that kind of place where everyone seems to know one another. I liked the window setup they had, and you picked up your items to your left. One woman did come up to complain that one cookie was soft and the other was hard. They did switch it out for her as she was told that they were like that. I enjoyed my own cookie regardless, and I ended up getting more for the flight crew on my return trip at Tiny No. 5 after lunch. Amazing soft cookies and other goodies. We were visiting Houston for the first time and were recommended to come here. We tried their chocolate chip cookies, ice cream, and their famous cinnamon roll. Everything was so good, that I had to slow down and savor it all. I'm in love with this ice cream shop. Living nearby is a bit dangerous because I find myself eating more ice cream and cookies than I should! I've used the patio area of Tiny Boxwoods (their parent restaurant) a few times on a weekday afternoon to devour my sweets. Located in the heart of West U, they offer a nice stop to any West U natives or students after a day at the elementary school across the street. Now for their offerings - the chocolate chip cookies are arguably the best in Houston. (Trust me - I've done a taste test). Soft and heavenly, they offer the right chip to cookie ratio, are decadent, just the right level of sweet, and filling! On one occasion I tried a menu item where you can put a cookie at the base of your ice cream cup - mixed with the milk and cookies ice cream, it's heaven on earth. The milk and cookies ice cream flavor is my favorite because it mixes my two favorite things - vanilla ice cream and tiny's cookies. Always a solid choice (which means they sometimes run out early!) I've tried a few other flavors including their more recent death by chocolate which was absolutely delicious - though the milk and cookies flavor still takes the cake (no pun intended!) They have a great little set up for this area. The cookies were pretty good although they shorted one of our many that we ordered. The vanilla caramel crunch ice cream was a big hit but the mint chocolate chip ice cream tasted like spearmint. We stood in direct sunlight behind 3 others while waiting for our turn at the walk-up window to order treats. We noticed a family of four squeezed under a very young, sparse tree. We felt optimistic as we got closer to the bakery-fresh smell in the air. The cashier was very friendly, knowledgeable, and quick. For the price we paid, I would have appreciated a better experience for the customer-- maybe cold water, more shade, dog water bowls? The chocolate chip cookie was shareable and very chocolatey. I would 1000% recommend it. The lemon crinkle cookies were lacking lemon flavor. The brioche bun was filled with a pasty cream-- such a pleasant surprise. They're a little cute window open at the side of a restaurant offering cookies, coffee, and icecream. I decided to get a vanilla latte with almond milk and my friend got the coconut sugar latte with regular milk and cinnamon. My drink was solid but I think I shoudlve stuck with regular milk because the almond milk made it a little too nutty for me. I liked my friends drink a lot more. This is the first time I've been to this Tiny's location, and it was super cute. The little blue barn door aesthetic, and the walk up to the counter is adorable. I've always been a fan of their cookies, and they didn't disappoint this time either. The cookies are always super gooey like they've just been baked on the spot. The chocolate chips in my chocolate chip cookie are always on the verge of melting or they are melting when I pull the cookie apart, which is exactly how they should be. It functions as a stand so there really isn't anywhere to enjoy the treats other than the restaurant patio but I wish there were tables just for Tiny's Milk and Cookies. Service was friendly, but I was disappointed all of my first choices of baked goods weren't available. I ordered a chocolate chip cookie. It wasn't served warm so that was a bummer. Tiny's cookies for is probably one the best bakeries out here in Houston area if not top 3 hands down i have been to. when i first ever tried tiny's it was instant that I KNEW this place was my new spot. i must of have tried almost most their menu, just keep in mind that their menu is mostly the same in all locations but they tend to have different limited/seasonal items at certain locations i would look at into their social media pages to see what locations are offering what. The best thing of course is that chocolate chip cookie that is amazingly delicious soft and gooey i'm sure most can agree that have been here, also on a side note pair the cookie with their honey lavender iced latte its such a delicious drink and refreshing the honey and lavender taste is so well put together. if you get there early right when the place opens of course you'll get the freshest of the freshest goods there is, i go early i do recommend trying their sausage & cheese biscuit small and tiny but packs flavor biscuit is not try and the sausage is delicious or try the ham & gruyere croissant that is amazing the croissant is so buttery, soft and baked to perfection. the cinnamin roll, glazed donut & choclate donut were awesome just keep in mind these items varey on location. the cheddar rosemary scone and everything croissant with cream cheese was bomb the list goes on. the place is a bit pricey but definitely worth it and you pay for quality and good product and Tiny's definitely has quality. service was great and staff is friendly. so come with a sweet tooth and bring some home it's worth it. read more
