Thought I would try this place, seems to be pretty decent. Reminds me of an old Junior big boys from back in the day. As you walk in you see all there pies. That look so delicious. Place seems pretty legit though. The place is really quite early in the morning. But as I say here eating my breakfast it was starting to pick up and quick! My food came out cold though. Had the pancakes breakfast with 3 eggs, sausage, hash browns and side of wheat toast. They way I look at it breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Waitress was ver attentive and very polite and was on point! I sure do enjoy old school places to eat at. Everyone is so nice and respectful. Will be back here for sure and try it again. Came to enjoy a nice pick me up breakfast to myself, ordered a brioche French toast combo with the caramelized pecans and chocolate chips. Unfortunately I was served a plate with no toppings asked for. Chose to not even sweat it until i felt a hair with a spoon full of egg thinking it was my own just to my horror it's a strand of dna cooked upon my breakfast. Of course I made the heart wrenched decision to ask for my plate to be fixed. Stopped here during a long road trip with a large group. We were seated quickly and sweetly by a wonderful hostess Suzy. She served with a smile and was so kind and attentive. Our meal was served as quick as possible for a group of over 10 and was thoroughly enjoyable. The food was good, "THE best French Dip I've ever had" (one of our members). Terrible terrible terrible. First off the restaurant was probably 60-65 degrees inside, shivering while trying to eat is not fun. Secondly it took over 40 minutes to get our food, and it was not packed with people. Thirdly I guess they allow dogs in the restaurant and ON the tables. There was an elderly lady that had her small Chihuahua looking dog in a Christmas sweater, holding her dog at the table and it was pretty much on the table. That is very unappealing to see when trying to eat. Overall would never go back. Terrible experience and less than mediocre food. read more

Growing up my great-great-grandfather used to bring me and my sister here at this location at least three times a week and it was always full and busy and we would have a waiting line and it was just so lively when you would go in there The food was great it was just an amazing restaurant to eat at. Fast forward at least 16 years, And the place has just gone downhill. I had moved away after my great-great-grandfather had passed and just recently moved back not too long ago and of course feeling nostalgic I wanted to go eat at Shari's and sit in the same booth that we always did And just relive those memories. And it was very sad not because I missed the times I had there but because the waitressing and the food and the service itself was not there. It reminded me of a ghost town of how it used to be growing up when I would go there to now. And the food just was not as great as it was. Their menu has been like completely changed and the few times we did sit there and eat anything that I had asked to order they were out of. Zero Stars!!!!Long wait... they don't have enough help. We waited 5 min to be seated at 15 min. we asked for coffee then 10 min. later they brought sugar and silverware. After 20 minutes they took our ORDER then 30min. Later our food was ready, we asked for condiments and never got them. No refill on coffee and no waters either. It just gets Worse every time.....I've even walked out 3 times before after waiting 20 minutes sitting down and not getting out beverages....... Table was really sticky carpeting was dirty needed vaccum. On this day they had one cook and 5 wait staff. Waitress was very friendly efficient and attentive. The food took a long time to arrive and was warm and fresh. I did not like the biscuit and gravy(pic) not the country fried steak. Biscuit had cheddar in it and was very spongy, steak was super salty. Eggs and hashbrowns were both very good. In summary, trash outside window dirty table and food I did not like... 2 stars. read more

Went last night. The service was good and the food was good. There was a line when I went to pay so I went to the bathroom and my husband took our son to the car. While in the bathroom I heard our waitress complaining to someone that we walked out without paying. Yet my husband was standing at our car in plain view and not in a hurry. When I came out there were still the same people standing and waiting and when the waitress saw me she got very snotty about me being annoyed at her accusations. Needless to say I did not tip and wrote a note on the receipt as to why. read more

So, Sharis is usually my go to for pie, but last week I bought a banana cream pie that looked like it came out of something's nose. The "filling" was extremely runny and gooey and it was the most unappealing and unappetizing "pie" I've ever seen. We couldn't even take a bite....I mean slurp of the soup. After saying something online on the website, it said they would forward to the manager. And low and behold, we haven't heard anything. This is the first time I've ever eaten at Shari's. Even though it's a chain, I like the idea they got their start in Hermiston, OR - and now they've spread to several states. That's really cool, and obviously a success story. That being said, this location, at least, really needs to get their act together. They offer online ordering - which is always a nice feature, when it works. I'll say it's probably better to actually call to place your order - again, at least at this location - because if they have an item showing on the menu that they are actually out of, chances are it won't show up as being out online. Last night I ordered dinner, along with a piece of apple pie and a piece of the marionberry cheesecake pie. When I arrived to pick up dinner, I was informed by the server that they were actually out of both of those kinds of pies. In fact, they haven't had apple pie in months! Also, when I asked if I would be refunded what I had already paid for the pie online, the server had no idea how to do that. Y'all need to fix issues like this! This is 2022 after all. Now on to the food - so rather than dealing with trying to figure out how to refund what I'd paid for the out-of-stock slices of pie, I ended up just getting a slice of regular marionberry and a slice of cherry - both of which were actually pretty good. We also ordered patty melts and fries - also not bad - would have probably been better if we could have eaten them hot (not Shari's fault). Honestly, if I could split them up, I'd give the pies a 5 and the dinner a 3 - edible, but could make better patty melts at home. Surprised that there is no review yet for Shari's. It's been around a long time, and still is a great place for a nice meal. We ate here this morning, and my experience was typical of many times I've been at Shari's. We were seated at a booth very soon after entering. the menu is easy to read, lots of pictures, lots of good deals. The wait staff was pleasant and attentive. The food and drink quite good. The surroundings are clean, comfortable, with a fair amount of elbow room. We each ordered a meal that included half a sandwich, soup or salad, and a slice of pie, all for $7.99. We upgraded the sandwiches to full size, adding $1.99 to each meal. I had a "Grown Up Grilled Cheese" sandwich, with Italian Wedding soup (sausage, lentils, spinach), and a slice of "Burst of Berry" pie (marionberry, blueberry, and blackberry), with a tall glass of mango-flavored lemonade. It was all very good. My wife had a pastrami pannini sandwich, loaded potato soup, and a slice of pecan cheese cake pie, with a soda. We switched halves of each sandwich. Her pannini was EXCELLENT! I liked the grilled cheese (featured cream cheese and sliced tomato), but the pastrami sandwich was very tasty. The Italian Wedding soup was good, but I much prefer the loaded potato soup (baked potato with all the trimmings, made into a soup!) Just a few small disappointments. Although pleasant enough, the wait staff seemed just a bit distant, as if waiting on people were not their absolute favorite thing to do. I really like to be treated special when I eat out. I like to see big smiles and friendly banter and frequent checks. The wait staff was just fine, but not extra special. The food seemed to take longer than usual this morning, although it's never been very quick. It didn't seem to me that there was a huge crowd, so no obvious reason why service would be slow. I place an order over the phone, and when I got there, order was never placed. i talked to the Manager and she was apologetic but you would think I would have gotten a meal free. I went back 2 days later, the Hostess never acknowledged me and when my to go order was ready, she didn't bag it up until 3-4 minutes later when she know I had been waiting 10 minutes already. Did you know that this is the first Shari's Restaurant? I didn't until I went to the Sacramento one and I read the story behind their restaurant. We went to the Hermison, OR location in June of 2013, I'm just really late with regards to reviewing it. For starters, I was traveling with my then-fiance who is a commercial truck driver. We had a load to deliver at the Walmart DC up there and needed to find somewhere to eat REAL food that was "truck-friendly." Luckily, Shari's has a huge parking lot and we were able to take up a few spots, it was a light evening so we weren't taking up anybody's prime spots. :-) I had been to Shari's in Sacramento but my driver had not. He was surprised at how this wasn't just "diner" food. He was hooked. The service was great, the food, great quality.....what else can you ask for after you've been on the road for over a week?!?! We ended up driving around Hermiston and since we were there the next day as well, we went to other shops/eateries and we determined that the people of Hermiston are pretty awesome. It's a town I'd like to live in, except I guess they get snow there? A Cali girl has no business being in snow. I cant' wait to visit Hermiston and the great people at Shari's again. :-) read more

I did work for the Shari's in Hermiston on Nov. 30th. of 2021. The manager called and asked how much the work would cost I gave her a price and she got it oked. I have called on a number of dates and nothing. I have called the corporate # and left messages and no one has called me back. Apparently, they like having companies do work for them and not pay. Probably one of the poorest places to eat in Hermiston. Flies where noticeable but overall a clean place. Waitstaff was friendly. Ordered a basic breakfast one egg sausage and French toast. Not sure if the cook even knew what scrambled eggs where but they looked like leftovers from someone else's omelet, the eggs were flat triangle pieces. In other words don't order eggs here go to Denny's that's five minutes south on 395. The other order at the table was a bacon cheese burger. Fries looked excellent and tasted crisp and cooked. Burger was cooked nicely no complaints about having lunch at breakfast time. Overall you can get better food through a McDonald's drive through and that's if you get the correct order. Save your time and money you can get better food for $20 read more
