Shark Reef Las Vegas, NV June 2026

I had a fantastic time at Shark Reef. It's been years since I went last. There are more poster boards, info screens, and aquariums. My favorite part was the hybrid pupfish. I included a few pictures with signs about the pupfish & the hybrid pupfish swimming around.

It's so awesome that there's an aquarium on the Las Vegas Strip. I've gone to Vegas so many times since I became an adult, yet it took this trip to finally cross this place off my bucket list. I think the variety of sea creatures is amazing. I've been to aquariums all over the world, and this one feels unique!

It's kinda short for $39.50, but we love aquariums. We were there for 12 minutes. The sharks were pretty cool to see.

What a fun kid friendly place! My kids loved the "tunnel" going through the fish, and especially the tide pool. It was nice to also see other animals besides just marine creatures too. It is a bit in the smaller side for an aquarium, and depending on how young or easily entertained your kids are, you may or may not be done quickly. I know my kids could probably be happy here for hours and hours though. If you aren't a local, then I'm not sure if the ticket price on top of having to pay for parking would feel worth it, but then again that is dependent on each person and what they want to do for their family. This was our first time to the shark aquarium, even though we've been living out here for about seven years, and also a first for me even going to Mandalay Bay despite visiting Vegas often before having kids and moving out here. Just from the area of walking to go to the ticket area inside, Mandalay seems very spacious and beautiful. I could even see myself spending a good amount of time with the kids just walking around in the non-casino sections.

Kid friendly aquarium in the casino! It does take a bit to walk back through the casino and convention center to get there. My daughter had an amazing time inside! She loved looking at all the cool fish and marine life. There were so many different things to look at. The shark experience at the end was so cool! So many viewing areas to see everything. You can easily walk through this aquarium in 15 mins, or spend a few hours enjoying it.

I really like this aquarium in Mandalay Bay. I took my toddler here and she was quite entertained! They give a great locals discount and kids over 5 are free. They have a wide variety of fish, sharks, stingrays, turtles, crocodiles, dragons and more. You'll see all shapes and sizes when it comes to the fish here. My favorite area is the massive shark tank! This place is a nice treat to visit!

We went to the Mandalay Bay Aquarium, in order to experience their behind the scenes tour and to feed their Sea Turtles. Mike was a great guide who explained everything about the aquarium. From their filtration system, the way in which each animal is cared for and handled, and how their conservation program engages other aquariums across the world. Feeding the Sea Turtles was a magical experience. It's amazing how much they consume and how they interact with their handlers. After feeding the turtles, we went through the entire aquarium. There, you could see a lot more sea and land animals, as well as a shallow skate petting area. The Shark Reef Aquarium is an enjoyable, and educational experience, that should be visited, especially out in the Vegas desert.

I really wanted to like the Shark Reef Aquarium more, but unfortunately, my 16-month old decided to cry the entire time. So we were in and out in about 30 minutes or so. My eldest (5 years old) enjoyed seeing everything, especially the sharks and jellyfish. My middle child (2 years old) was indifferent. She stayed in her stroller the entire time and didn't want to get out to see anything. Also, the ticket prices and parking are a little steep for the amount of time spent there.

This place has been here forever but it never ceases to amaze the kids and the young at heart. It's a short spread but you get to see a lot of sharks , tropical fish and some alligators! Also a Komodo dragon. You get to touch a stingray if you dare . I brought my kids here 20 years ago and now I'm back with my grandkids. Still a worthy place to go to. This is one of the memorable places my kids will never forget . Come see it !!!

Getting to the Mandalay Bay aquarium felt like quite the trek. It was nice walking through the hotel and lots to see but still quite the walk from the monorail. Overall a nice aquarium but exhibits were quite narrowed with lots of turns which can feel crowded when kids are running around. The pirate ship and large shark tank at the end was nice. There was a small sting ray petting exhibit but not much activity and movement happening while we were there.

low key, it's fun there's an aquarium on the strip, but it's not the best. it's a pretty tiny aquarium. $29 for adult tickets weren't the worst price ever, but that's a lot of money for not a lot of exhibits. we took pictures at the entrance, and they wanted $40 for a print off of one photo! oh my god that's ridiculous. they did have a couple sharks and i enjoyed the touch pool with the stingrays! but i live by the newport aquarium, and it is nothing compared to them. and i don't even really like the newport aquarium! oh well, it was fun to visit here, but i wouldn't do it again.

Had a great time here! Nice little aquarium tucked behind Mandalay Bay. Spent at least an hour here looking at all the fish and exhibits. They had some lizards, Komodo dragon, snake in addition to the fish, rays, and sharks. Loved the educational aspect and how there was a touch pool for the sting rays and a small shark. The tunnels were so immersive.

From Excalibur hotel there is a free tram that takes you to the Mandalay Bay hotel, which takes 3 min.- It opens at 9am. From there, walk through the hotel until you get to the aquarium- it takes at least 10 min. (all flat terrain & all indoors) Once there, get a ticket- we went on July 7th & there was 0 people in line. The exhibit took us an hr, but we walked through slowly. We enjoyed seeing the sawfish, sharks, pirañas, turtles, jellyfish, & many types of fish there. We also got to touch the rays in the pool, & from the glass tunnel, we watched the aquatic creatures swim above & around us. At the end of the exhibit (included in the price) is a short theatre experience where you wear a VR headset and immerse yourself in a journey under the sea. A fun little extra we both enjoyed. NOTE 1: There were lots of little children so it got a little noisy by times, but it was still very relaxing if you don't rush. NOTE 2: This is a tiny aquarium compared to the Monterey Bay Aquarium or the Aquarium of The Pacific. However, the price of this aquarium is almost the same price, if not more. NOTE 3: Definitely a popular choice for families, or anyone who wants to enjoy the free AC, & get out of the hot Vegas sunshine for a bit.

Shark Reef Aquarium at Mandalay Bay Reviews in Other Languages

Ask the Community - Shark Reef Aquarium at Mandalay Bay

Has anyone attended the locals Tuesday for $10, what time did you go and how was the line? Thanks!

I've been when I lived there!! Line was and not too shabby at all! You're still able to get good pics and spend some time watching without it getting over crowded, it just gets a little hot as we know lol. Hope this helps! :)

What is the best area to park for the shortest distance to walk, does the aquarium have its own end? We have someone who can't walk long distance - TIA

If I remember correctly there is an outdoor parking right next to the aquarium

    Is this aquarium dog friendly?

No unfortunately it's not we tried to bring ours

Do I have to buy a regular admission in order to do the shark feeding?

Admission price for an 8 and 2 year old?

How much is the ticket to the aquarium?

$29 for timed entry pass and $36 for anytime pass for adults. You can get discounted entry with GoCity cards, Groupon or casino rewards. Enjoy Vegas! 😉

Has anyone done the shark feeding?

Yes, it's $100. While the aquarium as a whole was fun I'm not sure if I'd do it again for that price.

    Is stroller wagon allowed?

We saw strollers. Not sure if a wagon is allowed.

    Is it decorated for Christmas?

    No it is not

What are the age requirements for a child ticket? My son is 3 and idk if he needs a ticket or not, also my brother is 13 and idk if that qualifies as a child or an adult ticket.

Children ages 5-12 years old are $24.00. Children age 4 years old or less are free. Best to buy your tickets online because you have to request a time slot due to covid restrictions.

Are you able to bring a camera and take photographs without using a flash?

Yes. We were able to use our cell phones. And saw others carrying DSLRs inside as well.

    How's much for a ticket?

$25 for adults and $19 for kids

    Are strollers allowed?

Yes, nothing is impeding strollers from having a good time

Why are there seat numbers when I'm purchasing my ticket online? It also says 7pm on the ticket. Why does it say that when you can walk around at any time of their opening hours?

The seat numbers are there to keep track of how many tickets are sold. Also if there is an issue, they are able to look up the exact transaction and find the seat numbers for the purchased tickets. 7pm is the last admission Sunday-Thursday, so you…

    What is the polar journey?

It is a bunch of polar themed attractions/activities including a 4D movie, some interactive activities, and even a large piece of ice like an iceburg. The interactive activities are very engaging and good for teaching about both poles.

Is there an admission discount with a players card?

There is a discount for seniors and Nevada residents and a "package" price for the aquarium and Polar Journey if purchased together but no discount for players club cards. I actually got my tickets for free by playing the My Vegas (and related)…

Does the aquarium admission include feeding the sharks?

You need to buy a seperate ticket for that

The size of this place is deceiving, when we first walked in, I thought we would be in and out within 30-minutes. We were actually here for over two hours and every corridor we walked into offered a new smattering of lizards, bunnies, snakes, otters, huge fish, and even a massive saltwater tank filled with small sharks and stingrays. I realize a lot of the animals here are rescues, but I truly felt sorry for all of the mammals here... do they ever see the sun? Are they allowed to go outside and get fresh air? Or do they just stay inside basking in the fluorescent lights? I feel like if they had that information posted it wouldn't be as a bummer seeing capybara's, wallabies, and tons of birds, in small cages; inside of a mall. If you're local and you haven't been here yet, it's definitely worth at least one trip.

Before we even got there, we tried one of the new Zoox autonomous vehicles that are currently operating as part of a free pilot program in Las Vegas. It seats up to four people, the ride was smooth, the air conditioning was wonderful in the Vegas heat, and you can even choose the lighting ambiance inside the vehicle while listening to either the built-in music or your own phone. The only downside was figuring out the pickup location. If you've never used the service before, you may find yourself wandering around for a few minutes trying to find the correct pickup spot. As for the museum itself, the tickets were not inexpensive, but I felt they were a fair value considering the experience and the opportunity to see genuine Titanic artifacts that most people will never have the chance to see in person. Seeing "The Big Piece" alone made the visit worthwhile. One thing that surprised me was the atmosphere. I've walked through the Luxor many times and have never personally felt anything despite all the haunted stories people tell. The moment we stepped into the Titanic exhibit, though, my entire chest tightened. Whether it was the music, the lighting, or simply the weight of the history surrounding those artifacts, the feeling caught me completely off guard. The exhibit itself is immersive, with photographs, music, recreated spaces, and historical information that really helps you imagine what life aboard the ship was like. At the beginning, each visitor receives a boarding card with the name and story of a real passenger or crew member. At the end of the exhibit, you discover that person's fate and see their photograph. It was such a simple idea, but it made the experience feel much more personal and emotional. If you enjoy history, I would absolutely recommend visiting at least once. It was thoughtful, respectful, educational, and genuinely moving. I'm glad we went, and it's an experience my wife and I will remember for a long time.

I got the expedition admission with two animal experiences: porcupine and wallaby. The expedition admission gives you an animal encounter every 15 mins which was nice. We got to pet and hear about a wide range of animals while we were there and waiting for our paid experiences. The paid experiences were a little underwhelming. For the wallabies, we were put in a small pen with another family and it was so tight that they couldn't close the door comfortably. The other family had 3 small kids who were unruly and jumping all over. They should have split the families up so it wasn't overcrowded. The wallaby experience was just being inside the cage and getting to pet the wallaby twice which I DO NOT think is worth $25 a person. The workers had handfuls of lettuce with them so I thought we would be able to feed them, but they said no when I asked. Getting to touch a wallaby with 2 finger pets twice was not worth the charge for the experience. The porcupine encounter was a little better where we got to feed the porcupine but not pet it. When the worker came with a giant bowl of food, I assumed we were going to be able to feed the porcupine all the food. But we each got 3 pieces to feed and then they dropped the bowl in the pen. I was let down with this experience as well. I think the admission was good for what you get for the value, but the additional animal experiences were not worth it at all

I haven't been to Circus Circus in like 20 years, maybe longer. However, on our last trip to Vegas (beginning of August 2026), we took our almost 7 year old and 4 year old to check it out. We spent most of the first afternoon in Adventureland. For $60, our 7 year old (barely 48" tall) had a blast. He was able to do all the rollercoasters and rides since he was tall enough. For $30, our 4 year old did a lot of the smaller rides and she was a little jealous that she couldn't go on the bigger rides (but she's not tall enough). Parents need to buy a $60 ticket (wristband) if you want to accompany your kids on the rides. The two big roller coasters were fun and a thrill a minute. One has a double loop and double twist and is fairly fast. The second bigger rollercoaster sits 4 people and has lots of twists and turns and gravity events that keep you moving all over your seat. My son also went on several bigger rides by himself and had a blast. The lines aren't too long. I think we waited at most 10 minutes for the longest line. After leaving Adventureland, we walked around the arcade and played some claw games where you can win prizes. There's lots of claw games inside Adventureland too. The ones that were popular with my kids were the ones with the dumpling prizes and Needoh prizes. One great thing about Vegas is that when it's hot outside, all indoors locations have good AC and Circus Circus lived up to the bill. I hate having the blazing sun beat down on me, so it was good to be indoors. That weekend it was up to 117 degrees outside!!! Ouch! Parking was free in the lot (many places in Vegas on the strip are now charging $20 to $25 dollars to park for the day). Overall, a good time at Circus Circus, so much so, we went back the next afternoon and let the kids go on more rides by themselves. Xie Xie!
