My favorite hummus known to man. Expensive hummus but well worth it. Really love the unique cheese options both in store and at local farmers market. I always sample and end up leaving with something I wouldn't of otherwise considered. The restaurant itself is casual, humble and welcoming. The falafel isn't my cup of tea given it has a different almost sweet, nutty flavor profile. The baklava is delicious! Love the little thrift store in the back though prices are high.

How could this gem be in this tiny town but there it was nestled next to a historic theatre and a bookstore across the street. It's middle eastern food so think: Good for you. I had the squash soup which was served with toasted bread slices and spinach pie. Everything tasted homemade and fresh. The presentation is colorful and so tempting. It's rare to find a restaurant made soup where salt is not the main ingredient. The orange of the squash is what you taste. Doesn't get more natural than that. The workers are courteous and helpful by explaining the ingredients and how the items are prepared. This spot also sells formerly worn clothing and other recyclable pieces which were interesting and in good shape. This is a spot definitely worth visiting.

Right down the street from the 1850 Inn. Even though the Inn provided a grab and go breakfast, we ate at the big cheese two days in a row. You order at the counter end they bring it to you. Everything we ordered was $10 or less and about twice what we expected. The egg sandwich was a screaming deal at $4.75 and the Cheese panini was huge. My daughter's open face lox and creame cheese was worth of a lunch. This place is a find. If this was in Seattle, I would be there every week.

We came for brunch but my son was not wanting to try new things. I wanted everything lol. But I stayed back to grab some to-go homemade hummus and baba ghanoush. OMG both the best I've ever had! I wish I lived closer bc I'm obsessed. The owner offered bread to go with it...I said yes although I myself am celiac, for some reason I new it was going to be amazing-my boyfriend confirmed:absolutely delicious! I will 1,000% be back in the future.

Stop in here for lunch while working in the area. I ordered the vegetable soup and my friend ordered a grilled chicken sandwich with greens. I have to say my soup was very tasty and my buddy said he loved his chicken sandwich .. They have a small area inside to sit down and they also sell vintage clothing in the back of deli. Price wasn't too bad for my soup it was $5. for a bowl. Ken sandwich was like $12. If you near new paltz or Rosendale stop in .Ohh I forgot to mention they have desserts there too

    Vintage shop inside too!

This place is magical. Sweet service, delectable food and even a small vintage shop! We enjoyed some sandwiches, pastries and kombucha on the back patio. I was happy to eat outside but it was pretty hot and buggy. They could stand to add some fans or something to keep down the flies. Food was fresh and tasty. I was a little bummed they tapped out of the third kombucha variety. The vintage shop was great, fun to snoop and try on items. I would surely go back to explore and eat more!!

Outside view, was too chilly to eat outside but they have a few tables inside

Pricey but decent quality. Staff wasn't very nice. The falafel had a piece of a rock in it that I bit into.. probably wouldn't go back.

Thankfully it was today and I loved it! The ambiance is beautiful. Neat. I got to meet the owner's granddaughter Gigi. She was the sweetest. She runs the place. We arrived at the place around 3 pm, and all the baked goods were sold out. We were lucky to try the almond croissant and the chocolate orange biscotti. Both were yummy. We tried their hazelnut coffee and macadamia nut coffee - both were great. I can't wait to come back to try more baked goodies.

The two times I went, there were a few patrons with toddlers playing with games/toys making the vibe less conducive for quietly reading or working, FYI. The baristas served not only great tasting coffee, but it looked amazing too! I ordered a drip coffee with oat milk and in my second visit, the cortado. The pastries were fresh looking but most had hazelnut or Nutella in them on the first visit (I'm allergic). They had a new selection of pastries on my second trip but sadly I didn't have any. Nice space that's modern and a great addition to the PK area.

After dinner we were looking for a decent bar to enjoy a quick drink before heading home. This place surpassed our expectations by a mile. Neon lights, edgy signs and the aroma of incense draw you in. The bar keeper greets you under the disco ball. You take a look around, cool clothes and even better decor. The bar is set up with mint infused water and glasses. I love the attention to detail, and anticipation of customer needs. After talking to the bartender; Thomas about their cocktail options, I settled on a draft IPA, although I had my eye on their Filthy Twisted Martini. Thomas described it as breaking all the trad martini rules and it sounded delicious, but he let me know it did have a bit of spice. I couldn't tolerate anymore spice so I decided to try that one another time. My Wife ordered their botanical lemonade, she loved it, describing it as the best lemonade she ever had. Y'all!! It's delicious, a must try, with the option to have it with or without alcohol. We decided to sit on their rooftop patio, people watching and enjoying the cool summer evening. Their menu is extensive and impressive; they have some all-star dishes on their permanent menu as well as a rotating daily menu with a legendary lineup of seasonal items. I really appreciate that they have dishes that are hard to come by such as lentil loaf and lasagna, and these never disappoint. The lentil loaf is unique; it is a little brick of lentils (not your traditional sliceable mush of breadcrumbs and minced veggies). It's very well seasoned and the tomato sauce on top is not overly sweet. The mashed potatoes and mushroom gravy and (very) garlicky greens make it a great meal. The lasagna is one of my favorite dishes. It's pasta-free and just made from layers of sliced zucchini and other veggies sandwiched with their delicious crumbly housemade cashew cheese. The herby tomato sauce is super flavorful. The side salad and garlic bread that accompany it are great also; an ultra comforting meal. We enjoyed the macro meal, although honestly not as much as the other dishes. The pan-seared tofu was delicious, but the arame seaweed salad was super seaweedy and salty - a bit much for me. I'm also not sure why they didn't serve it in a bowl, which would have made the rice etc. easier to eat. It seemed to be missing something - perhaps avocado, or a hunk of sweet potato. A few items at the Garden Cafe are a little perplexing, compared to how perfect most of their food is. The tempeh is just ok. It's heavily marinated in a sweet and salty sauce and kind of strange. Also disappointing that it's just a big brand tempeh rather than one of the local tempeh brands available in the area. The housemade focaccia is also bizarre. The texture made me think it was gluten-free (but it's not). Is it whole wheat?? If that's the case, awesome, but they should mention that on the menu, so you aren't taken aback when you don't get pillowy airy bread and instead get something flat and gray that could be mistaken for a biscotti. We LOVE the Garden Cafe and wish more places like this existed serving organic classic meals. We wish they would open a location in New York City, but until then, we will be making the drive!

I decided to try the 209 hash. Two eggs, Potatoes, bacon, sautéed mushrooms, sausage, and tomatoes. While the food was good and the over easy eggs were done right, everything was pretty oily. From the potatoes, to the mushrooms, everything. I mean yes, there was bacon and sausage, but there shouldn't have been so much oil on everything else.
