came here with my friends for dinner since we were in the area, ample of street parking & a parking lot right in front of the store, plenty of seating with tvs around the perimeter for you to watch sports/news. there was no wait and the staff were attentive; however the food was just meh. i was looking forward to the chicken spicy ranch sandwich but it was SO dry , i genuinely couldn't take more than a couple of bites. i did like their version of disco fries (cheese+gravy on fries) though but even that you can't have too much b/c it starts tasting very salty. their fried pickle was just okay . my other friend got the wings which looked really big and juicy so maybe get the wings instead? overall, pricepoint wasn't bad. i would say this is the perfect place to get a beer & wings while watching sports with "the boys" read more

I've left a few different reviews here over the years. It started at 5 stars for the amazing wings, expansive dining area, and friendly atmosphere. It pivoted downward with worse service and management all the way to 1 star for the cockroach that crawled into our poker group in 2018 (and I'm removing that photo because - you'll see). And stayed at 1 star after COVID when they refused to invite our poker group back despite the pleas of the nice lady running it. Ownership here has changed. And while the poker group isn't coming back, they still offer the same happy hours with reasonable wing prices, the same amazing array of wing sauces and the ability to mix "on fire" into whatever other flavor I want, the same wide variety of other foods for appetizers, main courses, and dessert. And the same atmosphere, slow service that sometimes forgot to check on us while multiple servers congregate and chat... but at least no more roaches. They've cleaned up better, the restrooms got some much needed upgrades, so with that, I am upgrading my review up to 3 stars. 5 star wings, other things still need improvement, and maybe someday I'll be back to weekly attendance. We ordered some wings for pick up on a Sunday afternoon. We placed a pick up order around 11 AM, scheduled it for 4 PM and they were very punctual with it. I really enjoyed their Nashville hot wings! The general tsao wings were okay, but not my favorite. Their Parmesan garlic were not good in my opinion, as they needed much more sauce. They don't have any parking so you have to park across the street or find some street parking which is a little bit annoying. The inside of the place is OK. Went out to try Sharky's for the first time ever. This place is in Boonton. There are roadside parking available till 6 pm and free parking after 6 . As you enter, there is this sitting arrangement and the bar is just next to it. There is also this gaming zone for kids. We had some Hot wings, Thai chilli wings, shrimp with old bay seasoning, quesadillas and some wine and beer. They were pretty quick in their service. This was during a weekday and we got to enjoy their happy hour. Already recommend this place! read more

We have been coming here for the last 20 years on and off. The buffalo Wings were always a big favorite. Last night we decided to go for wings,,,, They were cold,, over cooked, dry,, with minimal sauce. As well as ordering Nacho Supreme, They were a big disappointment!! Minimal Cheese,,No Ground Chile ,, served with a very small container of Salas. We have been to many other Bar& Grill restaurants that have serviced much better Nachos supreme,, And much better buffalo wings. The server was very nice.. Totally dissatisfied with the food . But I will say the staff is genuinely friendly especially those behind the bar. There's enough TVs to watch whatever sporting event is going on at the time. Usually Im only concerned with how bad the Jets are but thats a whole other story. I do love the price points on their food though. They have pretzel bites for around $7 and tacos at $2 each. A glass of wine wont kill your wallet either. Sharkys is a very warm inviting environment coupled with an extremely professional staff. Been in this town 20 years & it's a tragedy what's happening with Sharky's. New management has ZERO idea how to run a place like this. The fried food is all but rancid & the beer taps are gross. The bartender at lunch ('Max') makes sure to finish the TED talk he's giving to the regulars before acknowledging other customers. I had to get up from my high top table to grab the drink he couldn't bother to deliver around the bar in the otherwise empty dining room. Only reason for 2 stars is the Sharky's Sauce still tastes good. I'll be sad when Sharky's finally implodes. I recently visited Sharky's West in Boonton and had to leave a review because of the consistently amazing service--especially from Ryan, who is truly an incredible bartender. He always takes care of me and my friends every single time we come in, and we have absolutely zero complaints. Worst Sharkys ever they need to close the location the staff is and cook is horrible I placed a order of 25 lemon pepper wings for pickup told crispy well first of all these wings was not crispy and the amount of Leno. Pepper they put on the wings would send you to hospital the cook butchered some simple wings so I called and ask if I can speak to manager and was told no manager was available so I asked if I can return the wings and get a refund and they said you can return the wings but that I wasn't getting a refund never again eating this place read more

He said "we" don't have change. I decided ok I'll get change somewhere else. My wife and mom were sitting at our table and he shouted across the room can I help you? There weren't any customers and it was inexplicable why he won't get off his rear and ask them when he was just sitting there. My wife and mom came into the restaurant and ordered a Blue moon. The beer came out flat as could be, I went to the counter and explained it was flat I asked for a Samual Adam's and the same flat. I didn't ask him for anything else. If you love wings -- sharkeys is an institution. And while the Clifton location is probably the more popular location, the West is actually my pick between the two. The one that is considered "Sharkey's west" is located in the quaint town of Booton which is spacious, easy to find parking and the bar is never as packed as the shoulder to shoulder standing room bar in the Clifton location. The service here was great, very laid back but professional and timely. They have a great selection of beers and drink options such as ciders and hard seltzers. We ordered wings in the flavors mango habernero and Thai chili. You can opt to add a mountain of fresh garlic on the wings for a small additional cost. And while Sharkey's is predominantly known for their wings and bar food, don't sleep on their seafood dishes such as the banging clams. The seafood has no grit and is super fresh which is sometimes unexpected at a dive bar. read more

Ok. So this place is absolutely nothing to look at. It's appeal is more of a college town bar replete with a sticky floor. I KNOW IT'S LONG BUT IT'S WORTH THE READ BEFORE YOU WASTE YOUR MONEY OR WORSE I rarely post on this app because my experience has been that most restaurants usually fall somewhere between not great to pretty good. So I only post when a place is exceptionally good or exceptionally bad. Having eaten in this place over many variations for more than 30 years (since it was Duff's), it absolutely breaks my heart to say that I'm posting because this place is NOW EXCEPTIONALLY BAD. Anyone considering eating here should invest the time reading this review or they may as well just set their money on fire. We called in our pick up order - 2 cheeseburgers and fries, mozzarella sticks and clam strips. When the person answered the phone, they said "you realize that you're calling Sharky's West in Boonton, right?" At the time I thought that was a strange thing to say, but by the time I left I think I understood why. I walked in to pick up (30 minutes as instructed) on a Saturday afternoon at 12:30ish. The place was an absolute ghost town (only 2 tables seated). As I'd done a thousand times, I walked up to the bar to give my name for pick-up. These three guys were talking to each other and didn't even notice or greet me. No worries, I politely excused myself and said "Hi, I'm here for pickup" and gave my name. One of them said, "yeah, yeah... go over there she'll be with you," waiving me away toward the host stand. Odd, I thought, since normally one of the bartenders almost always handled take-away. I asked one of the waiters if there was a change in ownership and he said - "yes, in March". Another 10 minutes went by without anyone coming to the host stand. Finally someone came over and said it'll be 10 more minutes. Politely, I just shrugged and said, I know it's not your fault but it seems odd that, since there's only two tables, jt takes an hour for 2 burgers and two of fried (frozen) apps? So I sat and waited. Eventually one of the guys chatting amongst themselves (manager?) came over and said "So sorry, so sorry, it's just super busy..." the place was empty except for two tables. Ten minutes later another server brought me the food and intimated how it's been pretty bad since new ownership took over and that they have mentioned it to the new owners and about the loyal following the restaurant has had and that they just don't seem to care. I felt so bad for that server and I wish you could've seen the face of despair that they had. And now for the food - it gets worse. Not only were prices higher, each of the portions were way smaller than previous- especially the patty size and fry portion. We used to look forward to the flavor and seasoning of the burger and the fries - now they're just bland and below mediocre. I was able to bite into the burger about 1-1.5 inches all around and get nothing but bun. The garnishes like pickles, lettuce and tomato looked like they came from the floor (we threw them away). The clam tenders barely had any clam in them and were almost entirely breading. They used to be full of clam. A NUMBER OF THEM WEREN'T EVEN COOKED. Thankfully I spotted that before eating them. Before I posted this, I did some research and apparently I wasn't the only one who had issues with seafood being undercooked. BE CAREFUL. We used to love coming here for the steamers but there is absolutely no way that we'd take a chance and get those now (if they're even still offered). So for that experience we dropped $70. You'd be better off spending that money almost anywhere else - McD, BK, Taco Bell or even White Castle (exaggerating, but kind of not really). It's NJ - throw a rock in any direction and you're bound to have a better meal at a diner. I guess everything in life changes, but this was just really sad on so many levels. I'll never understand why new owners feel the need to mess with a winning formula (see PizzaTown USA) - I've been reluctant to believe that it was purely to skimp on ingredients to increase their profits at customers' expense. I suppose it's true... I hope I've saved your wallet and stomach from upset. I think I now understand why the person answering the phone asked me if I realized I was calling Sharky's in Boonton... I'm a big fan of the Sharky's in Clifton. I took a hike the other day in the area with a friend and afterwards we wanted to grab some food. I mentioned I was craving wings and we needed up here. I knew I'd enjoy it as I enjoy the Clifton location. Upon arrival. We weren't greeted kindly. The hostess was about to take us to our table, and we asked if we could grab a high top instead. A yes or no would have done fine. Sadly, an eye roll is what we revived. The place wasn't busy but there was errors occurring. The bartender came and took our order quickly. We noticed pretzel nuggets on the side wall menu and asked what those come with. We were told cheese dip. We ordered them and they came with honey mustard. When we asked a server to please bring over cheese dip, it tasted and looked like cheese wiz. It was cold and chunky. We also got charged for the cheese even though we were told before ordering that it came with it. Wings were amazing as always 10/10. Very saucy and delicious. Can't go wrong with that. We also got told they would come with celery and blue cheese. I ended up substituting carrots in. Sadly, blue cheese did not arrive. Had to ask for that. The place itself is nice and spacious and has a good vibe. However the workers seamed a bit uncertain of the menu and what came with what. Very misinforming. Made the sit down meal less enjoyable having to ask for things that should be coming with the items we purchased. Overall a good experience with the food. The rest needs a little work. read more

I both go here and have done take out here numerous times. As far as going here, been to Sharky's probably 100 times. Not exaggerating at all. I would say the time frame of about 10 years. What threw me over the top is I went online to order delivery (never have ordered delivery from here for myself). I ended up ordering pick up as the price difference was $27 BEFORE the tip. It would have been a $35 difference. Will the extra $35 change my lifestyle and should you pay a premium for delivery and convenience of it. Yes you should but at a certain point you feel like you're getting absolutely taken advantage of. It also stated $00.00 delivery fee. They bump up the delivery price menu is how they get you. To add insult to injury they gave me one absolute tiny thing of blue cheese dressing for 16 wings. Take out here is also never as good as when you eat in. Sharky's West is a little bit less crowded, a little bit less loud, overall a little bit less divey than Clifton. All of this can only be considered a plus, so why not the 5 stars? Well, it turns out it's a whole lot less consistent as well. While the food is good, it's never consistently great. So far, we've been there three times and the kitchen always seems to mess something up each time. First time, it was great wings! Super plump and lots of sauce. However, we found a bit of wax paper cooked in our burger. Second time, burger was cooked well even if the cheese was not fully melted, but wings were shriveled dry with barely any sauce on them. Third time, burger was *perfect*, wings were moist, buuuuut the additional garlic (+$1) was missing. JFC, Sharky's West, I want to love you so bad, but can you please get it together? read more

Took forever to initially take our order , then I ordered my first beer. It sat on the counter for 15-20 minutes while our server, "Mike P" sat around and ate ice cream and didn't serve our beer. By the time it got to me it was warm and extremely flat. Possibly the worst beer I've ever had. Second beer, pretty similar experience. Sat out for 10 minutes until we said something to the hostess and she grabbed it. I went to sharky's for lunch yesterday. I was so looking forward to it visiting from Fl use to be one of my favorite places but when we got in there found out, there was new ownership. The food and the service were absolutely horrible. The wings came out with the wrong sauce, then 5 wings came with the sauce we ordered. They made us 10 more wings to replace the original batch but they came out with the wrong sauce again. The french fries were very cold. My son's salmon was salty as heck. It was just a very bad experience. I hope the new owners get their act together soon. I hate to see the place go under. read more

They gave me a fishbowl and our waitress who was absolutely lovely even asked them in the kitchen to grill me a cheese. They let me keep the bowl so i could show my wife because the sheer size of this thing was absolutely crazy despite only being 24.99$. the fried pickles were fantastic, and my friends really enjoyed the sandwhiches they got with the sharkys sauce and bleu cheese. 10/10 for the extraordinary service alone. My friend took me out to Sharky's Wednesday afternoon before Thanksgiving. She's been giving Sharky's high praises for their wings and pork rinds, telling me that I had to try them and that I'm missing out on a life changer. So going in, my expectations were high. I will say that Sharky's not only met my expectations, but exceeded them. So good! Plus, because we met up after work, there was a 70 cent wing special, so could order any number of wings (and different sauces) without being limited to the increments on the normal menu. My fav sauces were lemon pepper and lime chilli, and I recommend at least trying the fresh garlic on top of your wings (*drool*). If you like pork rinds, you must order some from here. They are made-to-order fresh and crackle when they are brought to your table. I never had that before and it was, as my friend attested, a life changer. Note about getting there: I'm not from the area and drove over after work to meet up with my friend. There's a parking lot across the street with meters. Sharkey's Boonton has incredibly good chicken wings and is our go to place for them. Their beer selection is great and is second to none. Having said that, their service definitely needs improvement. The last few times we were there, the waiter was inattentive to us (talking to the other staff members most of the time) and I had to constantly had to flag him down to do anything for us. My husband and I loved this place, both the Clifton and Boonton locations but stopped going to Boonton after we had horrible experiences. I went with friends from work after a 4 year hiatus to give them another chance and I'm happy I did. Phenomenal service, friendly staff and my friends loved the .80 cent happy hour wings special.
