The name might be Tashmoo 2 or 10 DeHart, either way this is the restaurant & bar in the beautiful new white barn-like building that just opened on DeHart Street. Very short menu, a few apps, one salad, sandwiches $16 with fries, draft pints $8-8.50. Draft choices included Kane, Stella, Guinness, Kona and more but about half the taps were still dry on their second day open. Many tables inside and quite a few out front on the patio also. They kept the big front garage door open but we stayed outside this visit; table service only, no standing around with a drink. We'll be back when they fill out their tap offerings. read more

Nice dive bar in Morristown. Cute pub decor and a great place to meet some friends for drinks. Food was good and restrooms were clean. Waitress was just Ok. She seemed to be annoyed. No smile when we asked her to photograph us at we hadn't seen each other in some time. We felt rushed the whole time. She was not friendly at all. You will want to eat before coming to Tashmoo. The slight tip of the hat to the Martha's Vineyard town does not make up for a lackluster fish sandwich. Served here without flourish or any apparent flavor, this fish sandwich resembles the frozen puck of something white and flaky, but I'm not sure what it really was in its past life. No matter, I asked for AMERICAN cheese to cover up this fish substitute that may have been caught back in the Bush administration. They've really got to up their game on the tomatoes. Came here for a few drinks with a friend during the week. I believe it was a Tuesday. I've never been here before so I was unsure of what to expect. The place is dark and has a very chill atmosphere to it. There are tables along the sides and some high tops in the corner. I didn't order any food but would like to come back and perhaps try something. We sat at the bar and it was pretty empty that night so the bartenders were attentive. All in all it was a nice place to go meet someone for a quick drink...didn't experience much else to give a 5 star rating. read more

What can I say. Nice long bar, saloon feel, nice TVs, center of town, open late, good prices. The food? I'm sorry to think, cooked by Chef Mike Rowe Wave from frozen packages stashed in a dark cooler. The fries were good - crispy, thin and savory - my burger was rare not medium - I was hungry though. The clearly frozen beef patty was dry and flavorless, and the bread could not have been less than 3 days old. The onion ring on the burger was almost unbreakable - it bruised my palate, and the drinks were so watered down I thought "good flavor for water". We had other dishes as well but reviewing those would only cause me to relive the heartache and disappointment I felt when I consumed them. And I was even hungry! The service was lacking, not in the server's attitude but in the number of people a actually serving - there was only one server for everyone. The prices were too high in comparison to the dismal depth of the interest the chef has put in the food. The only good reason to go there is if you're starved and every other joint around is packed, and you're standing right next to it. Or if you're under 30 and you're cashing in on happy hour and it's midnight in Morristown and you're too dotcommie for Sona and the Black Horse is jammed. So definitely a thumbs down for me on the food. I can't speak of the atmosphere but "roadside" did jump out at me. read more

After helping a friend move Saturday 6/29/13, we decided to go out for a casual dinner and drinks. The four of us brought the total customer count to six. Initially I was impressed by the cleanliness and atmosphere of the place but this was ruined by the contemptuous staff. Unsure of what I felt like drinking, my boyfriend asked Joyce (the bartender) if they had a house menu. She looked at him like he had three heads and gave quite an attitude when he clarified that we would like a drink menu. Since we got the vibe that we were inconveniencing the bartender, I opted for my staple; a kettle and cranberry. We received the cold shoulder from that point on. Off to a great start. Not even halfway through my cocktail another employee, (brunette, server?) was extremely short and insulting as she poured a draft beer. In an attempt to hold a conversation one of the guys said that we weren't from the area and she replied, "where are you from?" One friend said "currently in PA." She snugly replied, " yeah, I can tell." When asked to clarify what that was supposed to mean, her attitude increased. I said, "My boyfriend and I are from NY, he's from NJ, and he's also from NY but lives in PA; so what exactly can you tell?" This struck a nerve and she avoided the question. My boyfriend chimed in to press her for an answer but was told, "I can tell he's from PA. God, you don't have to be so annoying about it!" As a bartender for 12 years, my threshold for this behavior is higher than my boyfriend's and his friend's. Throughout the entire 15 minutes in this bar, I tried to diffuse the situation and get my boyfriend to remain calm, despite the blatant lack of customer service we had received. Until the server said we were being annoying. Of course we were shocked, insulted, and appalled by both employees behavior, and at this point my boyfriend stood up and raised his voice. "Are you kidding me?" This was when the server told us we can leave and never come back, Joyce said to pay the tab and leave or she was going to call the cops. As we settled the check, we sent two guys outside before things escalated any further. Other patrons asked us what happened, and were in agreement that the entire scene was uncalled for. While I won't comment on the establishment itself because we were unable to finish a drink, let alone have food; I will say that the service was the absolute worst I have had anywhere! NY, NJ, PA, FL, Mexico, etc. I have served and been served and have never been so disappointed. Joyce, you and the nasty brunette should be ashamed of yourselves and regret not treating the millionaire from PA and his friends with respect and common courtesy that is expected from professionals in the food service industry! Management of Tashmoo, I sincerely hope these two do not represent your A-team, especially on a Saturday evening. read more

This is the worst place to be in Morristown. Last night I had been there after a long day of work and put my head down because of a migraine just for a moment. After doing so I was told I have to leave right after my significant other had ordered a drinks and food. I was fine with leaving but it was all paid for already 36.70 and we didn't even get our food to go. I was leaving with no argument just trying to walk out but a worker grabbed me viciously by the arm. I now have cuts and bruises as well does my girlfriend. This is the worst establishment I've ever dealt with. I would not recommend this to a single soul and the worker should be fired. read more

Nice, calm place to get a drink. I like Tashmoo because you can hang out without having some guy with a baby Gap tee, big muscles, waxed eyebrows, and spiked hair bumping into you. You can actually relax and enjoy yourself as well as the person you're with. The only caveat here is the food. It's not bad, but its definitely nothing mind blowing - its your typical pub food. I love Tashmoo! I've been here many times for a very quiet and quaint happy hour. This place is a very cool and trendy place in Morristown. I highly recommend this place for all that it does and for all that it is. It's simply chill, and its just normal. Sometimes you want to dance, and sometimes you want to be with others...or sometimes you heaven forbid actually want to talk to the person you're with. This place is the place for that! read more

Great little bar here in Morristown - I've only had the quesadillas (sp?) and the wings, on two different occasions, but thoroughly enjoyed them both. The bartender was a good dude also...nice to chat with...but not too intrusive (it was a Saturday both times...same guy...but forgot his name). I'm not much of a beer drinker, but it seems like they have a nice selection. **2.5 Stars** I had been to this place before but only for drinks. It's not very big and it has a large open window in the front which makes it quite airy inside. It's a seat yourself bar/restaurant with very good service. Our waitress was very friendly, prompt and accessible even though she was busy and the only server. We started out with the sampler platter (good wings, terrible mozz sticks, decent chicken tenders and eh poppers). For a meal (although I was told to go with the burgers there) I opted for the pulled pork in a wrap with cheddar cheese (on the menu it says it was one of it's most popular dishes)....terrible mistake! The PP tasted "funky" and a few bites were like chewing a tire which should not happen. The fries (a bit of salt, pepper and a little garlicky) did make up for it as I only ate 1/4 of the wrap. My buddy had the Thai chicken wrap which he wasn't impressed with either. The service was great, the food not so much. This place is good to go for a drink but the jury is still out if it warrants a 2nd visit (although as mentioned before I heard the burger here was good). It's just a bar, the smells - beery, the bartenders - angry. The best part about this bar is the fact that they have the Xlerator Hand Dryer, in the rarely seen black color, in the restroom. The most advanced hand drying device on the market. They seem to have a decent beer selection, didn't try much. It's definitely a popular place and everyone seemed pretty nice, no fights. I think you could get a better idea of how this place is by going for food and hanging out, we came here at 11:00pm for a beer, so it's just a bar at that point. read more

I reserved for group of 5 last night before a show at Mayo Arts. Three of us arrived early to perfect corner table away from the bar. We told our server that the other 2 in our party were stuck in traffic from road closure caused by Trump arrival at his golf course! not only was she patient and .understanding but she was concerned about us making the show on time. When our friends arrived late we ordered wings and steak quesadillas as appetizers along with several wraps pulled pork and a pasta entree. Everything was fresh warm and delicious and served on a timely basis, with enough to take home leftovers. We even had several happy hour specials available to tables as well as bar! We left with plenty of time to spare thanks to our gracious server and their staff. We now have a go to place in Motown before a show read more

A great local spot, we love coming here during the week for dinner and drinks. The bartenders are really chill and nice, and food is great for pub food. Their burgers are really as good as they advertise, and my husband loves their crab cakes. There's daily specials for drinks and the crowd is usually older than the younger scene you find elsewhere in Morristown near the Green. read more

Had a pretty "meh" experience here. This place is nothing to brag about. A group of friends and I wandered into this place on a whim for his 30th birthday celebration. First of all, there was only about 4 people in this bar when we got there. This was around 11:30 on a Saturday night. We wanted one or two more beers to close off the night before we got a ride home. The bartenders were rude to us and begrudgingly helped us as if we were disturbing their night. As if they didn't want customers in their establishment. One of the people I was with accidentally dropped a glass which caused it to shatter on the bartop. The bartender then refused to serve us drinks for the remainder of the night. They clearly did NOT want to serve us and jumped at the first chance they could to refuse service causing us to leave. As we were leaving, one of the staff members was literally PUSHING people out of the doorway. This place has a clean and first class appearance with a dive bar attitude. I'm hoping this was a freak/rare occurrence, and I'd love to give this place another chance. However, the events of this night leave me a little weary... read more

We have eaten here several times and Tashmoo is hands down the best bar food in town! My favorite is the fish tacos made with blackened Tilapia. The huge burrito and the chicken gyro is another favorite. A+ for service and hospitality! read more

Been here a few times over the years and found it to be a pleasant experience. Food was always good and they have drink specials that help keep the cost down if you want to hang out for a bit. Little disillusioned with my experience last week however. A group of friends and I went for happy hour. Right away the waitress acted pissed off at us for no discernible reason. I noted how other reviews mention the bartenders being aloof or cranky, so I guess we got one. We wanted to look at the drink options before ordering, but she kept coming over, asking us what we wanted and walking away in a huff when we asked for a minute. We had to ask for time twice because there were literally seconds in between her asking us. We asked very little of her throughout the night. We only ordered drinks and apps. No one made any special requests and we were a quiet group. We only had probably two rounds, so she didn't have to keep running back and forth. At the end of the night, she hands us the bill. Granted, we all forgot to ask in the beginning for separate checks, but most of us have a restaurant background and know its not a big deal to split things up. When I asked her (and apologized) politely if she could split our check up, I was met with "I can't possibly remember what everyone had. Just write it all down and I'll see what I can do." So we spent the last few moments of our happy hour searching for a pen and a clean napkin to create a itemized list of who ordered what. I only had one app, one drink and I think another person in the group had two drinks max, so I found her request (and her attitude) toward us to be off-putting. I would be willing to return here and I doubt my review will make an impact, however its going to be awhile before this place sees any of us again because we all have reservations about it now. I've seen a few other reviews where people have referenced "cranky" wait staff and bartenders, so perhaps management will read this and make some changes. One suggestion I could make is perhaps have a little more staff for the busy nights. The place is small but one bartender and one waitress probably didn't help the staff attitudes that night. read more

First of all, after a year of cruising around the Morristown area, I haven't heard or seen of this place. I'm not too sure whether this is a good or bad thing. When I first came in, I was like ok, this is an average bar. Probably not as nice as the other ones down the street, but it's ok. My boyfriend loves it here because they have different types of scotches. He recommends the Japanese scotch, not sure of the name. I had the Sangria, it didn't taste bad, but it just wasn't very strong, and the glass was so tiny. Maybe I'm being petty, but for $7.50 of sangria, if you're going to give me a tiny glass, at least make it strong. However, if you want to come here and have the specials, then its pretty good. For example, when I was there on mid- day Saturday, it was $3.50 for bud lights and there was $2 off nachos. But a lot of bars in the area that are nicer have the same specials. The bartenders were really nice and friendly. They gave great service, but it may be because the place was empty. This bar is basically priced the same as all of the other bars in the area, but not as nice. I would come back here, but only have the specials, because I didn't like to be overcharged there. read more

My group along with many others went to watch the band Hoi Palio but they canceled the show at the last minute. Tashmoo never told the band and evidently new they weren't having the show early in the day. If they would have announced the cancelation when they made the decision we could have went to an alternate event that actually did kick off. Disappointing that the management chose not to be truthful in order to fill there location. The food was ok and our waitress/bartender Chloe, was great! If it wasn't for her we would have not stayed past our first drink. Typically this bar is our go to meeting place in Morristown usually a starting place or happy hour location before going to dinner. Do NOT order a drink after 1:00am. I spent a lot of money at this bar with the last ordered round of drinks coming at 1:30. At 1:50am my friend was approached by the bouncer in an abrupt manner where she was touched by him saying "you have to leave". She told him we were just sold a drink and we will finish by 2:00am when you close. The owner came to us and SLAMMED his hands on the bar and told us we have to go. The bouncer told us he will "hit us" if we don't leave. When we told the owner he said "that isn't okay". YET, when we continued to finish our drink BEFORE 2:00am, the owner came by us again, 5 minutes later, and screamed at us to leave. My friend was SHOVED by the bouncer before 2:00am, cursed at, threatened, and called derogatory names. I have NEVER been assaulted and treated like that in my entire life. This bar is a good bar is you want to catch up with someone. It's quieter than most of the morristown bars. The staff have always been friendly. Last time I was there my mixed drinks were made right. They also just added angry orchard on tap. I had an alright experience. Nothing to rave about. I have one suggestion, the hand dryer in the women's bathroom would be better in a different spot, it turns on when you make any movement in there. A relaxed, friendly place. Extensive beer, liquor, and wine selection. A friendly staff, and a menu to please anyone. This is a great place to watch a ball game without being a sports bar. What I like most about Tashmoo is that they stay open late on weeknights. I found the place one night when everything else was closed, and I'm glad I did. Now I drop by regularly. Each time I do, I'm greeted warmly, and I invariably strike up a conversation with another guest at the bar. It's just that kind of place. read more

If you are looking for an older more mature clientele this is where to go in Morristown. At the other bars you will find the younger kids out and about partaking in havoc and bad hair gel jobs. This is the place to go to for a more adult atmosphere and a good beer. They have brooklyn on tap which appeases me much and a couple of big screen TVs. I have not had a disappointing night here. The restaurant has a really chill vibe and is a great spot to just grab a drink with friends. The service is awesome....the bar has quite a number of regulars. Met up with a few coworkers and friends in the middle of the week and the place was pretty packed despite the not so great weather. They have a vast selection of drinks and food options. Although I'm predominantly a vegetarian I couldn't stop myself from trying their chicken tenders which was appetizing especially with that spicy mustard dip. The pasta that followed was also surprisingly good! I don't quite recall which one we ordered but I was a fan. Having been here before on a weekend, the bartenders were on point with their drinks. Received my margarita instantly and wasn't watered down at all! This time we stuck with beers and my friend who's not much of a beer drinker ended up liking her beer so much she had a second glass! Overall, the service has been on point both times I've been here, food was delicious and definitely a cool, hip place to spend time with friends, coworkers or bring a special someone! read more

Their wings are great, and the Tashmoo burger is delicious. Great little place for drinks and scotch on a weekend night. Lots of drink options at good prices with multiple bartenders, i've been there a bunch of times and never waited more than 60 seconds to place an order. It has the feel I wish Sona Thirteen would have on a weekend with a much smaller crowd: chill 20-30s place that's never packed and filled with meatheads.
