I booked this hotel after all the great reviews raving about this place. I also stayed at the motel down the road the last time I was in this area and I was deeply traumatized (still am!), so I was really looking forward to my stay here to see whether the reviews were right. I was ECSTATIC that it was SUPER DUPER clean and the reviews were right! The looks of this place looks a little questionable at first esp when we got there, their main parking lot was blocked off. I found out they were resurfacing/resealing it and that was why it was blocked off. But do not fret, this place is super safe and clean despite being a little in feom the main road by 93. The lady who checked me in was friendly and very sweet. Once I entered our room, I was SO HAPPY to see it was spotlessly clean! The towels they use were fluffy and did not smell moldy or musty. They were fresh and thick! Everything was clean, even the AC unit, which unlike other places did not smell old or musty at all. I am telling you, this place was/is SUPER clean and all the reviews raving about this place weren't lying, they were definitely justified and this place fully deserved it! The shower pressure can be improved cuz it was very weak but since it was clean, this is very minor. The room are keyed entry locks which is very modern. Ours was a little finicky but once we figured it out, it was no big deal. The bed was VERY comfortable. We slept so well and was so happy we found a lodging gem in Wells, NV! This hotel can be booked directly on their own web site, so try that instead of going through a 3rd party platform. (I will do that the next time if I go through here again). I spent 2 nights, recently, while there for a ranch celebration of life. The motel exterior belies the wonderfully remodeled room. Owners were very friendly. I enjoyed my room with my small dog. I needed a bath mat for the slippery shower. I'm sure that was an oversight. I will stay there again. read more

Well maintained quaint old roadside Motel in a shady part(pretty much all that is left in Wells is a ghost town of former business buildings) not sure there is a NOT shady part of town. Checkin was seamless and pleasantly accomplished by the gentleman at check in. At the Sharon they advertise to have the "cleanest rooms in all of Nevada", and I can honestly say that, after staying in 3 other motels in Nevada this week, the Sharon is not overselling their claims. To be clear, the room we stayed in was VERY clean. Bed was comfortable, nice sized simple room did the job and was very reasonably priced. My only complaint/suggestion is; that given the very unsavoriness surrounding the motel each room should have a deadbolt lock in addition to the locking door knob. read more

This sweet motel is proof that a small, quiet, family owned hotel in a place that may not be the ultimate destination for some, can be a million times better than the big corporation hotel with greater resources. In fact, The Sharon Motel goes beyond all that. This is truly a gem - a unique, super super clean, warm, cozy, home away from home experience. The beds are insanely comfortable and the bathroom looks like someone checked it with a white glove! It sparkles! The decor is heartwarming. It feels like if my sweet great aunt had a hotel in her guest room, this would be it. I am in love with it. The fridge is better than any of those fridges in the bigger chain hotels. It is not a full size, but it has a real freezer for my freezer packs, and there is enough room for me to fit my cold drinks and two salads. It is early May, so I can't speak to the heat o n mid-winter, but I am a naturally freezing cold person. I am always worried about being warm enough when staying in hotels. Hope checked me in ( she is a total delight and I love her sense of humor), and gave me a good tutorial on the heat. Let me tell you- I am super cozy and it is WARM in here. LOVE IT! Shower pressure is good and towels are...Wow! Super white and luxurious. I always bring my own towels because I travel a lot for work (and they keep my travel budget low) and have been burned one too many times. This was a rare occasion that I actually had to use the room's towels because they were so white and soft! Like I said, I am traveling for work and just passing through for the night, b ut I wish I could stay here longer. This is a great hotel and I really just want to hug the owners for having such heart and such pride in their property. It is a gem, gem,gem. Yes, I am going to stay here when I have to drive back through, but maybe I'll stay an extra night just for fun! Don't let the 'old school' exterior freak you out. It was our first time to stay in Wells and we were pleasantly surprised with the Sharon Motel. It was clean and cozy -- just as described by other reviewers. On a long drive from SoCal to Idaho, we arrived late at night after the office had closed. No worries, because the manager texted us with instructions and left the key along with a copy of our bill taped to the office door. The beds were comfortable. All rooms are non-smoking. Free WiFi. Plenty of tv channels to chose from. Breakfast was a cup of hot chocolate, a bottle of water, and a delicious pear. It is an older property; so don't expect too much in the way of amenities. Do not book this place through a third party. We booked through Orbitz and after driving 7 hours we were told they don't have a room. She looked up our reservation and saw it but said that there's nothing that could be done. So just know unless you book through a site that charges your card at the time of booking, IE: non refundable, you may not have a room when you get there. I also want to point out I travel extensively and use both direct bookings and third parties. If I have a confirmation number from Orbitz, I should not have to call to verify it with the hotel. It should work the same as a direct hotel booking. That is the point of a reservation. I have never had to call to confirm a booking before and I chose to frequent mom and pop place over chains if possible and this is the first time I've encountered a problem. In fact I was just in LA last weekend at a family owned hotel that was lovely AND was booked via Orbiz and I did not call to confirm my reservation and my room was ready when I arrived and they were super friendly. Maybe a hotel or motel should not affiliate themselves with a third party booking site if they are not going to honor reservations made with such sites. A hotel or motel does not have to work with third parties, that is a choice. And if a hotel or motel are not going to honor those reservations the same as if a customer booked directly then maybe they should rethink the partnership. In conclusion, I called Orbitz. They still saw the reservation as active with an active reservation number. The hotel also acknowledged the reservation. Who is at fault here? I guess thats up to personal opinion. Apparently per the hotel it was me, since although I had a reservation with a reservation number it wasn't good enough since it was through a third party. Just be cautious if you book this place through a third party. Call them to confirm the reservation. Better yet, don't use a third party just book directly with them. read more

Currently participating in a roadtrip from Kansas to California. After spending the night in a Motel 6 earlier this week in Wyoming, I can safely say that Sharon Motel is truly unique. We walked into the office and were greeted by a kind woman that asked us about our trip and made us feel very welcome. We entered the room to find that it was in perfect condition. Everything was clean and tidy and the room smelt amazing! The beds were incredibly comfortable and anything we could possibly need had been already provided. There was even streaming platforms such as Netflix available on the TV! The bathroom was spotless and the toilet paper was new and there were extra rolls, at the Motel 6 the roll was half gone! Can genuinely say that this motel provided my friend and I with a pleasant experience and we know where we will be staying if we are ever in Nevada again! read more

A perfect throwback motel in the tiny railroad town of Wells. Very clean. No smells in room. They do have dog rooms. No cats. No real amenities here except coffee at 6am. No pool, just a tired old town, that is hanging on by a thread. With the beautiful Ruby mountains and outdoor living nearby. This is a tiny motel only about 16 rooms so a reservation is recommended. Beds are comfy a bit on the soft side but not tired, and should be firm enough for most. A real gem. Everything worked, except the rest of the town's neon signs from yesteryear. I checked in late one cold January night and my room was freezing. It took well over an hour for the little space heaters to warm the room up. The owner said she got too busy and "forgot" to turn the heater on and no one was in there the night before. Nice lady but freezing in a motel room in mid January is just not ok. I have stayed at the Sharon Motel every year for about 10 years. For the people who know the old man that used to own and run the place by himself no longer is there, I believe he has passed. The new owners and people that run the motel are nice. They have made updates to the motel such as new carpet, fridge, beds, wall art, bathroom updates, added table and chairs. The updates have been much needed for a long time and I am glad they have put some money back into the motel for their guests. For all the things listed above and the items to follow only apply to room number 6. I have only stayed in this room for all of my stays because in room number 6, they have second room attached with a third bed it in. That being said other rooms might not offer or provided the same items in room number 6. My last stay here in October 2021, I saw they had removed the large dresser that used to be along the wall as you walk in. I was disappointed to see the dresser be removed because I used it to put my clothes in but also to store things on the large open space on top. They did add a standing dresser that the tv is on but again I liked to open space on top of the old one. I place of the old dresser they added two chairs and I believe a round table if memory serves. Again didn't like the chairs and table because I am not in the room most of the time just to sleep so I don't see the relevance on chairs when I can just sit on my bed. Lastly the thing I will comment on is the new towels rack that was added to the bathroom. I am a large man at 6' 2' and 220 pounds and for me every time I used the bathroom my right shoulder would hit the towel rack as I was standing in front of the toilet. I would have to shift to the left and stand at an angle to use the bathroom. Hopefully they will look at a few things to tweak but all in all great place, friendly staff and many fond memories to look back on. read more

Nevada is taking its toll on you as it does all living things, and you wonder what terrible retribution will be thrown upon humanity for inhabiting this expanse. Do not panic. Sleep here. Very clean rooms, neatly set up with a good refrigerator (with icebox) and microwave, something the last hotel didn't have. Slept in a king bed, one of the better nights sleep I had during my trip. Ice was provided upon request. Park in front of your door, a big plus. Only thing keeping it from a top rating is the occasional train passing. Heavy sleepers probably wouldn't notice, but it's a consideration. I would definitely stay again, good value for the money. read more
