You can spend more money at the newer hotels by the highway or stay here and save a few bucks. It's clean and comfortable and cozy. This is one of the best maintained mom and pop hotels that I have stayed at. I like that there's a screen door. There is a refrigerator and microwave. Everything works, including the wifi. There have been some updates but it still retains its charm. Check-in was just wonderful. There's no breakfast but there's coffee and hot cocoa to-go as you hit the road. If I ever pass through Wells again, I would stay again. read more

The Sharon Motel provides a comfortable room at a reasonable price. The front desk is very friendly and accommodating. We called ahead since we were not able to arrive by their 10 PM closing time. They arranged to leave us our key and provided instructions for check in and check out. The key was where they said it would be. The room not only looked clean but it smelled nice. The rooms are basic and reminded us of the 70's. The microwave had a knob dial. The shower floor looked like it might be original tile. They don't make things to last like they used to. read more

The Sharon Motel is an excellent value, providing a comfortable bed and clean bathroom and linens for under $40. Add to that a fridge, microwave, wifi and Direct TV, and you've got a steal! As an added bonus, you get free morning coffee. Fred, the owner, is very proud of his establishment. He runs a tight ship and may appear to be dry, but you'll appreciative the benefits. Very serious about no smoking, my room had no cigarette scent, unfortunately too familiar in other "non-smoking" rooms. And, while the furnishings were dated to maybe the late 60's, everything was in perfect condition, as though I were in a movie set. Call ahead for reservations, as rooms book quickly. Super cute and eclectic little slice of the past, from the retro sign to the mismatched potted plants and chairs outside of each room. While this isn't a modern hotel, this gem is very well kept and clean. They have WiFi and a TV, so you still get modern amenities. I love that there are only a dozen rooms and the motel is set up in a way that encourages socialization with other guests. The staff is friendly and informative. The mattresses are also crazy comfortable, and they accept dogs of all sizes for a $10 charge. In the mornings they serve fresh coffee and hot chocolate. I plan to visit this area again, and I will be looking to stay here again. read more

Serviceable. No shampoo or conditioner, you just get a bar of soap. Sheets needed replacing during the bush 1 administration, the shower head was for crap and the flow needs to be checked by a proctologist. Everything else was par for the $46 price. Would prob stay here again on the wells biz trip, the other hotels in this town are good for murdering but that's all. will just remember to bring more than just a toothbrush to this one. read more

Don't hesitate to stay here! I almost stayed at the 6 because it was $20 cheaper but impulsively stayed here because of all the great reviews and I am SO glad I did. Here is what the extra $20 gave me: super clean room. NO weird perfume, cleaner, or smoke smells. (I am sensitive to strong smells and get horrible sleep in some hotels because of it). A very very comfortable bed! It was like sleeping in a cloud. It was super quiet. Blackout curtains that blocked out the outside lights very well. Overall I had a really good nights sleep because I felt like I was staying at my grandmas house and not a weird hotel! Other bonuses: super friendly and attentive staff and really good quality (Pete's) coffee! I wish this hotel was available everywhere I needed one! read more

Wells is a rather depressed town with some abandoned buildings, but we needed a place to spend the night while traveling. Sharon Motel was perfect. The bed was very comfortable. I should have wrote this a year ago when I stayed but better late then never. I was driving between Yellowstone and Vegas. Wells was the halfway point for me. I found the Sharon Motel online with good reviews and I wasn't disappointed. I arrived an hour early and was greeted by a nice friendly woman at the counter. She gave me some advice on restaurants and directed me to my room. The room was spacious and clean. I mean it sparkled it was so clean. AC worked like I like it. COLD! When I checked out, the office was empty so I dropped my keys and left. I guess the same woman who checked me in was in the back. She saw me getting in my car and came out and wished me a good trip and she hoped I enjoyed my stay. Yup this place gets it. Clean and friendly service. Good job. Cute little motel in a small town. We got into town super late last night and needed a couple extra hours this morning . They charged us for half a day which is reasonable....room was $60 total including tax and $30 for the extra charge for late checkout . Room is clean and comfy but bathroom is small. If you find yourself in Wells, NV I highly recommend Sharon's motel. There aren't any fancy hotels in town but there are several motels to choose from. I read reviews and we drove around town -it's very small- looking at the outside of all of them. We are very picky about cleanliness. Sharon looked well kept on the outside so we asked about rates. It was competitive with the other motels and when I entered the little lobby area was very clean so I asked if we could see the room before we committed. the very friendly lady at the desk handed us a room key and welcomed us to look around. The room was very clean and comfortable looking so we stayed. There are no fancy linens or soaps but honestly a clean comfortable room with friendly people for under $60 - what more could you ask for? I've read some people complaining about no coffee but I'm not even a coffee drinker and I saw several signs about free coffee in the lobby which is no more than a 30 second walk from anywhere on the premises. I also heard the train but it was after I was already awake so it didn't bug me at all. It didn't wake my husband. You can't go wrong staying at Sharon's. read more

Older motel which has obviously had a thorough upgrade of the rooms. Don't be put off by the exterior. The room was spotless. With many motels of this genre, the rooms are tiny but our room was spacious. Even with a table and TWO chairs and a queen bed, we had room for two open suitcases. The reason for the four stars is the heater. Too small for the January climate. It took all night for the room to be decently warm and even then we couldn't face a shower in the still chilly bathroom. The had made a big point of not burning anything in the room or I'd have brought in the tent heater we had in the car. read more

Clean! Comfortable! Right Price Point! NO BED BUGS! From the outside, you would drive right past this place but that's okay, we weren't planning to sleep in the parking lot. Our family of 4 stayed in a room with 2 queen beds(may be too soft if you are accustomed to a firm matress), frig, microwave, flat panel TV with cable service, AC, and WIFI. This small motel was a great place to stay overnight. There is nothing fancy about it but it was clean, beds were great and the office desk woman was very nice. There was no ice machine so I asked the front desk for ice and they brought ice to our room for us. We also had our small dog with us and they welcomed him (for a small $10 fee). I stayed here for a night with my cousin during a long road trip and.... it was amazing. just amazing. the beds were SO COMFORTABLE. the room was so incredibly clean. our receptionist was so welcoming and kind. traveling as two females can be nerve wracking, but I felt genuinely safe here. the water pressure in the shower was also GREAT. the water gets hot FAST. Fred was very warming and courteous. We made advance reservations, Fred was expecting us and was thrilled when we arrived. We requested a king sized bed, Fred called us two days in advance of arriving to say he did not have one, a queen was OK. We arrived at 8:00 PM he was very accommodating. After staying at a much more expensive motel in California and driving all day, the Sharon Motel was awesome. It is very cheap and quiet (I guess that part isn't so surprising, though, since it is in Wells, NV). It is a nonsmoking motel, which can be hard to find on the road. WiFi is free and fast. The rooms are clean and spacious. The TV was a nice flat screen and they have Direct TV. There was a nice fridge and microwave as well. I was very pleased with the motel, and I would have expected to pay much more for the room. The owner even made sure my car was ok after I told him I had car troubles earlier. I would highly recommend the Sharon Motel. read more

Fred welcomed us to his squeaky-clean little retro-fifties motel with a big grin & a very wry sense of humor. Truly, it's not retro, this motel was actually built back in the day when there was no Interstate 80, and the Sharon fronted right onto the paved remnant of the California Trail, now the very quiet Main Street of Wells. So it's funky, with 50's touches that are now considered annoyances, but the charm, basic functionality, and tidiness makes it a big bargain at Fred's incredibly low price. read more

Great diamond in rough ... perfect spot for layover on a long drive. Definitely will consider this Sharon Motel over similarly priced lodging in Ely and Twin Falls ID. (I'm north / south traveler.) The Sharon Motel, is a vintage, very clean, and extremely reasonable Motel. Fred, the owner was nice enough to call and inform me that he had found an earring that I had left behind. He said he would mail it to me, and he did!!!! Loved the No Smoking benefit, I have stayed in other non smoking rooms, which means nobody smoked in the room in the last 2 days, this is truly a No Smoking Motel, clean, fresh, & reasonable. read more

Was staying in Wells and had a less-than-satisfactory experience at a national chain up the street. I tried the Sharon Motel on the basis of the Yelp reviews. I'm sure the motel is 60 years old, but it is perfectly maintained and quite comfortable. The "no smoking" policy is strictly enforced - a welcome plus. I would go for 5 stars, but the heater wasn't quite up to the sub-zero nights at the time. All in all, though, a very pleasant experience. read more
