Love this place! I came to visit oregon for the first time and had the pleasure of having breakfast here. Wait time was not bad at all, took about ten minutes to get seated in a busy diner (even waiting 30 mins would have been worth it for the good food and for how busy they were). The waiters were incredible. They all were talking to us as if we were family and were really helpful and kept asking if we needed anything and kept our drinks refilled at all times. Food was great too and good sized portions for a really good price. Ill definitely eat here again next time i come to corvallis! read more

My dad took me to Sharon's for breakfast for my birthday- my first visit. Odd exterior, but a typical old-school, no nonsense diner feel to it on the inside. The coffee was so-so (typical diner stuff). The waitress greeted us quickly and was chipper, and without much delay, our food was delivered. The servings were enormous. I ordered biscuits and gravy and it literally took up an entire dinner plate. My sides, the toast and eggs, came on a seperate full size plate. Great taste and texture and needless to say, super filling. This is a real, all-American cafe. By that I mean booths, tables, two counters, newspapers to read, coffee on, local art on the walls, and a waitress that call's me 'hon. If you need trendy, you might not like it unless you want to broaden your horizons. There will be a camo hat or a lady with a walker in the clientele. Some country music playing at a low level. Reminds me of Missouri, in a good way. Deal with it. Breakfast is great. That is if you like real hash-browns, and you're fine with jelly in the little plastic tubs; the cook knows what 'over easy' means, too. For lunch, I imagine you can't go wrong, I never have. Authentic Diner Food! We've only been there in the morning for their big plates of tasty breakfast. I'm partial to the SanFrancisco Jo (spinach and sausage in scrambled eggs), my husband likes the Skillet #2 (variation of the old Oscar's Potatoes--hashbrowns, bacon crumbles, cheese). The coffee unfortunately is diner-style, too, but they keep it coming! You don't go there for the coffee. Wait staff work their tails off at breakfast because it's usually full with the tables turning over quickly. If the tables are full sit at the bar and chat with some authentic Corvallians. read more

I really enjoyed this place in the past, last 2 times not so much, I was told i could sit at counter, but would be served last behind the 15 people in larger parties behind, what's the point of the counter (Party of 1) today i find out they longer take credit cards or debit cards. I was told they cant afford 1000 bucks a month in fees......... WTF at 2.5% a month in fees means you do 40,000 a month in sales (open 5 days/wk) I call BS. Had Sunday brunch with a group of friends about a month ago and had a tasty chicken fried steak with a fantastic peanut butter milkshake. Wife loved her cinnamon French toast. Ordered biscuits and gravy, took over 1/2 and hour to get the food and when we did get it the gravy tasted like they cooked with with an orange peel, the sausage was WAY over cooked and was cold when I got it... My Fiance got bacon which again had a citrus taste too it. Tried to talk to the servers and that to almost 20 minutes. When we did it took talking to two of them to talk to a manager... that's when my story gets worse.... Guy had the mindset that the food was always perfect and that we were just making waves...he took an attitude and wouldn't shut up when I was trying to explain why the food sucked. He made us pay for the only thing that was eatable on the plates (toast) and our drinks...Customer service was bad enough for me not to come back even if the food had been OK...But combined? Tried stopping in Sunday at noon for some breakfast. Already closed despite the sign on the door saying they close at 1pm.

Didn't even get to the food. I had picked up coffee from my favorite local shop on the way to breakfast. First words out of the waitress' mouth was "you will have to take the coffee outside." This was my first time dining at Sharon's Cafe. My friend and I went on a Saturday at 11:45 a.m. It's a clean and simple diner, with country decor and an orange wall dedicated to OSU. Even though there was no one ahead of us waiting to be seated, the place was busy and we were told the food wait would be 30 minutes. We were quickly seated and promptly offered water and coffee. Our waitress was attentive and quickly took our order. We ordered a veggie omelette and a dinner salad & cup of chili. While we were waiting for our food, we were offered coffee and water refills on a regular basis. As it turns out, the food took 45 minutes to reach our table. The veggie omelette was small and was good, but not great. The dinner salad consisted of iceberg lettuce on a HOT PLATE with a plastic cup of salad dressing on the side. The chili was lukewarm, bland, and tasted like they forgot to put the spices in it. Although the wait staff is friendly, attentive and hard-working, the quality of the food offered needs some definite improvement. Prices were average for this type of restaurant. Looks like a nice big restaurant, but half was closed even on a Sunday morning, so wait was really long. Menu for breakfast was nothing special and seemed pricey. Place was a real dive, but not in a good way - no natural sunlight and colors were dull and dingy. Looked like a cross between a cafe and a bar. Service friendly but slow. I've tried to dine at Sharon's restaurant a few times this past year but cannot get a table or I am told that there will be an hour wait on food. I've tried dining here both on Saturday and Sunday mornings, sometimes before 9am and sometimes after 12pm. They need to hire more staff. read more

I used to love this restaurant and if anyone asked for a recommendation I would always send them here. I no longer will recommend or eat here again. I tried to take my daughter there once before. We got seated and were looking forward to the Chicken Fried Steak. The server came to take our order and told us they were out of gravy so we left. She was here this week visiting with her boyfriend and we decided to try eating here again. We were standing there waiting to be seated and some guy came from the back and told us they had just got a rush and more or less that we should leave because they were overwhelmed. Probably one of the best kept secrets in Corvallis. AND they just added booze to the menu! I got a classic two egg breakfast with gravy to put on my hashbrowns. They menu is big and if you have a hard time choosing something you can always get a skillet. The service is great with bottomless refills on coffee. Visiting from out of town. Arrived at 11:38 on a Saturday and they had their "Sorry, we're closed" sign up. Google said open from 6am-1pm. Door said noon.
