Very fun Murder Mystery dinner! Attended my first Sharpo event tonight at the 94th Aerosquadron. The cast members were very engaged and it was difficult to tell attendees from participants... because we were all participants and suspects! I even suspected my mom (who I came with) and our server might be the murderer at one point. Lol. The acting was great and there were surprises throughout. The posted clues were a little confusing and there was information provided and requested that didn't really have to do with solving this case, but they do a good job of reviewing all the really needed clues and making sure the key parts are repeated in case you didn't catch it right away. I liked the elements of magic before the show and the dinner and service were very good. There were even elements of comedy which were entertaining and made people smile. But overall, the story line was complex and complicated enough where I had a number of different solutions I wanted to give. Turned out my mom gave the best answer though and she proudly walked away with the "Hammer of Justice" Award from Sharpo! She was super excited about that. Very fun night. Great for bdays, families, and date night! They also continually change the story, so it is possible to attend again! I liked it- would go again. And the venue and cost are great. read more

I booked Sharpo in conjunction with the Glen Tavern Inn for a *surprise* bachelorette party for 13 people. The same reasons why I chose this idea for the bride and her friends is the same reason why it totally could have backfired - they're almost all actors and creative types (I'm probably the biggest exception). Eric and his team, however, knew just what to do with a tipsy (ok, drunk), spotlight-loving group of late-twenty-somethings. The four actors never broke character but still managed to be just deadpan-goofy and off-color enough to keep us in hysterics, never quite knowing whether we were laughing with or at them, or at ourselves. It was a fine line, but Eric + team walked it perfectly. I'm sure the Sharpo team would shine anywhere, but we booked in conjunction with an overnight at the Glen Tavern Inn in Santa Paula. The reasonable prices for dinner, drinks, and group-rate accommodations at the end kept costs relatively low (especially for a bachelorette!), and the two service providers worked magically together, with waiters being pulled into the charade when a stooge or plot point was needed. It also meant that we could investigate our murder around the hotel and then break to sleep on the solution (well, we did karaoke). Sharpo and the "living" members of his team came back and had brunch with us and we did the solution and awards then. Eric was super easy to work with, between emails and to-the-point phone calls, online billing, and his great memory for details. I wish I had another occasion to do the exact same thing over again with Sharpo + the Glen Tavern Inn. I'd recommend the combo, or Sharpo on their own, to anyone! read more

We hired this company for our end of the year company event and it was horrible. The actors that were promised where not great as promised. One was even insulting and obscene to our CEO in front of the whole company. I was the event planner for this event, and was highly embarrassed. I told him to tone it down, not be insulting, and that this was not that type of crowd. He ignored me. I had to speak to him a second time. The actors look like they went to a thrift store to choose their costumes. Some were dressed like they were in the 80's, others from the 50's, others from the 40's. It just made noooo sense! After we got back the surveys, it was the worst rated end of the year event in the history of the company. When I emailed them to complain, they asked for the chance to come back an do it right? My answer was no. I wouldn't pay again, even it was at a discount. They never offered any type of reimbursement. We hired Sharpo to do a Murder Mystery dinner for us at our annual Murder Mystery dinner we host up at our very own Restaurant at Kellogg Ranch (located on Cal Poly Pomona campus) and boy am I glad (1 million times over) that we booked Eric and his crew! Pre-dinner: From the minute I talked to Eric on the phone to the very night I actually met him face to face, he was every bit accomodating and understanding. He truly understands what Murder Mystery is all about and negotiated a very reasonable price for us. It is ALWAYS easy to get ahold of him and he will be on top of your gig... even if he has 7 other gigs going on. I talked and emailed with him a number of times before our dinner actually happened, and everything was just a cinch with him from coordinating our itinerary to the theme. Actual dinner: Eric. knows. what. he's. doing. Can I repeat that again? Eric knows what he's doing! He and his crew are really the creme de la creme, and he had our college audience cracking up the whole night!! They really know how to work a crowd and our crowd had not only college kids but also older groups and he worked both generations easily! They (Eric and his crew) actually mingle before the show and he does magic tricks as well. The crowd LOVES it and eats it up.. it's great! The actual show is just so much fun and so much entertainment--I guarantee you will love it. Eric managed to make everything funny and witty. Not to mention.. he has a GREAT memory for detail. Like many other reviewers on here say, we picked a couple of people for him to "pick" on and it went GREAT. The crowd was just roaring and he remembered every single bit of information I wrote down for him about our people to "pick" on. Eric coordinated with our staff and coordinators up at our Restuarant and it went so smoothly. Sure, there were very small hiccups the day of... but nothing that couldn't be fixed quickly! You don't have a clue...Not even one. How do I know this? Because I didn't either when I went in search of an original entertainment idea for my daughter's wedding. Quite frankly, I was miffed because I had dancing in mind but she didn't want dancing or a dj because she and her fiance' don't like to dance. So after searching six zillion ideas on the internet I somehow hit on Sharpo. Since the wedding was at the Museum of Photographic Arts and had alot of black and white old Hollywood characteristics to it, I thought the murder mystery could be fun. Kind of a CLUE-ish thing? My kids went crazy and thought I was the most clever person ever (they are right). Here was my experience: They are super easy to deal with. I gave them the concept and they knew just how to work it into a wedding along with some great ideas. I touched base a couple of times during the many months before the wedding (mostly because I'm a control freak) and he assured me that everything would be just fine and kept me calm. Right before I sent him a brief list of the guests along with some key bits of information on the more interesting ones to hopefully give him something to talk about. It was pointless...he didn't need it at all. He clearly has such a brilliant memory that he can talk to someone for 3 minutes and get their whole life story AND remember it! Being at a certain point in my life where I can barely remember which car in the driveway is mine, I have to give him big time kudos for his memory. Not only that, but seriously....next party I have? I'm inviting this guy just to come hang out. He is super fun and a very entertaining party guest. Ok...I think he did tell me that I looked young enough to be the bride...more than once...but that has NOTHING to do with it :-) The murder mystery itself is so fun because 1) They never take themselves too seriously 2) It really gives people something to think about other than how to get to the bar and have another drink 3) It is so unique at a wedding The delivery was super funny, very clever, he called everyone out and got them involved. The kids loved it, the older people loved it, and the younger set started out acting like they were above it, but got into it as it went on. All over the party you could here guests asking each other..."Would you kill for revenge, money, or extra closet space?" It was hilarious. My guests can't stop talking about it. If you are thinking about something unique and fun for a wedding, private party, office party I would highly recommend it. Yesterday we attended Sharpo's Murder Mystery Dinner at the Leonis Adobe in Calabasas. This time to fit into the "feel" of the environment, each one of the many characters were in western wear costumes!! It was terrific. As you entered the event, Eric was playing his harmonica while another one of the characters was playing his guitar, sitting on the veranda of the adobe. Talk about atmosphere!! I was tasked with organizing an event for about 40 people and we decided to go with Sharpo for the entertainment. Why I was chosen to organize a social event eludes me because I am the worst host and the most socially awkward person you can imagine. Sharpo and his team of actors came in about an hour before the event in order to setup and I challenged them to a staring contest because I had nothing to say... to anyone. But they took charge! I attended Sharpo's Murder Mystery Dinner last Saturday night, which was hosted by our Company at Braemar Country Club in Tarzana. The entertainment provided by Sharpo and the other actors in the Murder Mystery was fantastic and everyone had a wonderful time. I shared over 25 pictures with the rest of our employees this morning and we noticed that people were laughing in almost every one. Our Company had this same group of actors at a dinner over 8 years ago at the 94th Aerosquadron Restaurant and decided to book them again for this dinner since the response was so great. I brought my son for his 17th birthday, my son and his friends laughed the whole time., they were so engaged, asking questions, blaming, accusing...... I cannot remember the last time I laughed so much and completely enjoyed the company of strangers, which usually is bit awkward. No, I will not reveal anything about the show because I would not want you to miss out on all the fun my husband and I had at this murder mystery dinner. I will suggest that you order the prime rib instead of the chicken, or ask for extra sauce on your chicken. With that one exception, all the food is delicious ...and the cheesecake! Ingenious, Mr. Sharp's wit, humor and kindness is unmatched, he is the man! is the man!
