Had a fun time going to Pub N Grub while watching a FIFA games. We got seated quick but the service was initially slow since it was busy. Someone could have come by to say it'll be a few minutes or something. One we did get our order in, food was quick and everyone enjoyed what they had. Our experience at this restaurant was very disappointing. We never saw any signage regarding a no-outside-food policy, but once the host informed us, we respected the rule. We left the patio with our children and their pizza while my husband stayed behind to wait for the food we had ordered for the adults. As we were leaving, a truck was parked very close to the patio gate. We were careful to hold the gate open and guide our children through so that it would not come into contact with the truck. Despite our efforts, the bartender, Ashleigh, came outside with an attitude and told us not to hit her truck on the way out. She then went back inside and told people sitting at the bar to come look at her vehicle. We approached the people who came outside to check the truck and explained that we had been very careful and had not allowed the gate to touch it. One gentleman was polite and said he believed us. We went back inside to speak with a manager, but one was not available at the time. Later, we called Mike simply to inform him about the bartender's behavior and how unnecessarily rude the interaction had been. He said he would address the issue with the owners and review the security cameras. We welcomed that suggestion because the footage would clearly show that we did not hit anyone's truck and had no issue complying with the request to leave the patio with our children's pizza. The situation could have been handled professionally and respectfully, but instead we were treated as though we had done something wrong when we had not. read more

Pub N Grub is a great spot to get a good burger and a beer. We came in just before closing time and they totally took care of us. Thank goodness because it was the last place open. We ordered the chicken wings for the table and I opted for the Western Bacon Cheeseburger. The wings were good size and crunch battered coating. Not bad at all. The burger was big and delicious. Thankfully, the Mono Hot Springs Burger I had at Shaver Lake Pub and Grub was anything but sad, even if our attempt to have a leisurely lunch felt a bit like a game of Tetris with our toddler and 5-month-old. Let's be clear, the burger itself was fantastic and exactly what I was hoping for. But the real highlight was the staff, who were incredibly helpful and attentive through it all. Making a family with two very young kids feel comfortable is no small feat, and they handled it perfectly. The atmosphere is exactly what you'd expect: a rustic, comfortable bar scene that's perfect for a tasty, no-frills meal. The food was hot and delicious, we first got pot sticker appetizer, they were fried to perfection, crispy & tasty!! Our food came out after our bar drinks, we had a Cali beer & baileys cream hot cocoa. The shaver lake burger with side salad was amazing and the BBQ western burger & fries were so good, loved the onion rings inside. Typical mountain pub and diner, wood ceilings, cement floor, and cozy fire stove right next to our table. Kids loved their quesadilla and BLT sandwich. This actually might be the worst restaurant I've been to in a long time. It took forever for our food to come close to almost an hour. Our whole tables fries were cold and our patty melts were rubbery disgusting. It felt like we were chewing on hard rubber with also an untoasted bread. For the time that we waited to get our food we thought it would've been worth it but it actually really ended our day with such disappointment. I shared the Short Branch Grubber which is a burger with an assortment of toppings including cheese, bacon, lettuce, thousand island dressing among others. This tasted good! I kind of had reservations after looking at a cross section of the burger. The patty didn't have a freshly ground appearance. I also shared a order of fish and chips. They use Pacific cod. It included three pieces of fish. The fish seemed dark in appearance but nonetheless tasted good. The same could of been said for the onion rings. Dark in color and looking over fried but tasted crunchy just the same. The food is good. Worth trying again. read more

First timers! Ordered for pickup. Everything was packaged really well and our order was correct! The chili was delightfully good. So warming and flavorful. Wish I had more now! The Western Bacon Cheeseburger was great, we ordered it medium rare, and it came medium, which actually I think tasted perfect that way. The fries were definitely not crispy and a little under-seasoned, but I admittedly prefer my food heavily salted. The ranch for dipping was great, huge plus. The Mono Hot Springs burger had very little flavor, but was cooked perfectly and the brioche bun was a nice touch. The fish in the Fish and Chips was great, very crunchy and delicious. The onion rings were nice and crispy. Order was ready in 20 mins. Definitely would order again, just might add a little extra salt to everything. read more

Last night, our food was not only disgusting, inedible and the server Brooklynn was rude and could not figure out the Fish and Chips included French Fries! The onion rings had no oninos inside them. Had a good late dinner at the Pub n Grub on a recent Friday night. By the time we arrived, it looked like some of the ski families were getting frustrated waiting for their food. But we had no such issues, thanks to a female waitress who negotiated to take our table from the obviously overwhelmed male server. It was solid fried food - typical of Shaver - but the salad yielded some much needed nutrients. Good beer, was fresh. Service was friendly. Good food, ok prices and a mountain type restaurant, which I like, a bit rustic and countryish. Nothing fancy but kinda fun and relaxing place in shaver Lake. My spicy chicken sandwich was good but needed more sauce and the Ranch dressing I had for my awesome onion rings did the trick. My wife had the extra large quesadilla and liked it. 3.5 stars. Solid food, slow service. I was in a group of 6 on a Saturday evening and we got seated right away, but waited an hour for our food. Most of the food came out right but there were some mistakes. My sister ordered fish tacos with the sauce on the side and they clearly forgot because we all got served a good 15 minutes before her, and then our fries were switched (I got fish tacos with sweet potatoes fries) and we had to ask a second time for ranch. They had cute little cups with lids for the kids and the server was nice, but a little frazzled. Everyone enjoyed their food for the most part but I wouldn't order the fish tacos again because of the chewy hard tortilla. read more
