We stopped in here for lunch while we were at Chuckchansi. Often restaurants in a venue like this carry a hefty price tag. Not so here! The place is immaculate, and the atmosphere is fun and modern. The service was great and our food came quickly. We felt like salad, so we ordered a Chef Salad and a Cob Salad, and oh my goodness. Each salad was easily enough for two, and the ingredients were fresh and plentiful. As we mentioned, the price tag was reasonable with each salad being under $20. And, they serve fresh brewed iced tea- a winner in our books! If you're looking for fresh, and affordable, you'd have to try hard to do better. By all means, go! read more

I don't know how to pronounce the name of this place or the casino. We decided to come here after touring the buffet. We said "Noh" to the buffet. This place wasn't bad. It is more of a diner with cheaper food. My wife ordered the fish and chips while I ordered the prime rib. The fish and chips was cheaper, but, with the prime rib, I could of paid a few dollar more to eat at the buffet and had all the prime rib I wanted. Service was good. Located at the main entrance of the casino where valet and check in are. We came here for brunch on an early Saturday morning and it was BUSY! The staff member who checked us in, gave a fair warning that our server was also managing two other tables with 6-8 people and would with us shortly. But almost immediately as we we were sat down, our server greeted us and took our drinks. Only 3 minutes later she took our orders! I appreciated how quick the staff was on a busy Saturday morning. We would not have minded the wait at all but those servers were moving quick to get the orders out. We were originally seated at a table, but asked for a booth instead to be a little more comfier. The main seating area is spacious with options of tables and booths; if you're coming with a larger party, there is a second seating area in the back with much larger table space. According to their website, the whole restaurant is decorated with "NOH?O?" which is derived from the Chuckchansi word for bear! You'll see many little details of bears and the outdoors on the decor. We ordered the steak and eggs, had the steak done rare, eggs done over medium, with country potatoes and white buttered toast. The photos do not do it justice. One of the best items I'd recommend to get for brunch, it was very good. We would definitely dine in again. If you're in a rush, they also do take-out! You can get a discount on your meal if you have a player's card, but I do believe it has to be a specific tier or higher. The Chukchansi are an indigenous people of California who have lived in the San Joaquin Valley and Sierra Nevada foothills for over 12,000 years. The name Hoh?o? suits the place. My family frequents this cafe quite often as we visit Chuckchansi casino almost monthly. The space offers booth and table seating. It's always busy as it's one of the few restaurants on site. Generally, it's a solid breakfast spot. Can't go wrong with the chicken fried steak, the country breakfast or the pancakes. Their dinner menu, however, is not my favorite. The steaks are not the greatest quality, mashed potatoes are not served hot and the side veggies tend to be overcooked. If I am here for dinner, I generally stick to soups and salads. I absolutely love coming to this cafe with my family. We always choose to eat here since it's so comforting and the food is delicious. Fries on the side and a little cup of mustard, yes dip your sandwich into the mustard.. it's fire. Also ask for extra chilis on the side so you can take a bite and drizzle that juice on your sandwich. We also got the bacon burger with onion rings. Every time I come to Chukchansi, I'm either grabbing a meal here or at the Asian restaurant. This last time, I came on a Wednesday night with my mom to play some games and enjoy her late birthday dinner. As it was a weeknight, there wasn't a wait to be seated. There was plenty of seating and the restaurant is well lit. I ordered the grilled salmon, while she ordered the steak dinner, and we ordered some wings to share. My mom's steak was cooked well and the mash potatoes it came with were delicious. However, my salmon was a lot smaller than expected (refer to my pics) and very dry. Usually, I get the steak and eggs, and really regretted not doing that again this time. Regardless, their wings are absolutely delicious and cooked to perfection every time! My mom and I always order them. The servers were attentive and helpful, which I appreciate. They do serve beer and wine here, but if you want a cocktail, you'll have to go to the central bar in the casino. Overall, I think the prices are just slightly jacked up, but you can get a discount by showing your Player's Reward Card. And even better, if you play enough, you can get a Food Voucher from the Complimentary Services booth by the Casino Cashier area to use on your bill. The food is always decent for a casino restaurant. Prices of each plate are also decent. I've ate here several times before and service is usually good. When it's a busy night though, waiting for a table can take a long time. Tonight's experience: I've had the same dish several times and this was the first time I received a super dry chicken with the Alfredo. The dish came to me lukewarm like it's been sitting in the back for a bit. Service wasn't the best this time around. Took 10 minutes to get my soup and about 40 minutes for our food. Every time we needed something (napkins, water refill) I had to ask someone else and they would go and tell our server to come and assist us. The waiters were very nice, the place was super clean the food was good it's just the smell of smoke I couldn't get over it. The fries for me were on the salty side. The clam chowder was really good. The mashed potatoes were delicious. The country fried steak had a chicken fried flavor, which wasn't bad it was tasty. I can't count how many times I have visited this restaurant, most items are hit and miss but my steak and eggs have stayed consistent as well as their club sandwich. I tried their pancakes and well they were a bit on the dry side. The croissant, I gotten ham and cheese, expect a thick slice and not those thin slices of ham. I absolutely loved it. For some of you who don't know, Noh' O Cafe used to be named Gold Fields Cafe, located in the Chuckchansi Gold Resort & Casino in Coarsegold, CA. For being a cafe in the casino, I can say they have good quality foods and reasonable prices for their dining guests. I've been to Black Bear Diner and eaten at Table Mountain; they don't hit the spot like over here at Noh' O Cafe in Chuckchansi Resort & Casino. Their Club sandwiches are amazing, along with their crispy, somewhat battered fries and their chicken quesadilla. Also, some of the servers I had were attentive, friendly, and some not so attentive. The only thing that doesn't make this a 5-star review is you can smell the heavy stench of the second-hand smoke coming in the dining area. The service was what earned a star. But the food was horrid. What happened? I usually order the prime rib, rare or medium rare but they said someone goofed and there was only medium well and well available. I figured a ribeye was a safe bet as sn alternative. I sent it back because it was cooked with absolutely no seasoning. When it came back the second time it was the same absolutely no flavor no salt no pepper. The vegetables? Also no seasoning it was like it was just steamed and thrown on the plate. They could've used lemon juice and salt or something. It was almost like they're catering to people on no salt diets. Winner, winner, chicken dinner! that's the saying right? Hahaha The Gold Miners' Fried Chicken is a hit! What made it stand out was the toasted buttered bun that looks like a brioche (?). It wasn't a normal bun. It was burger goodness. The fries? WHOA! a good portion that was perfectly crisp (not soggy or sad looking) and seasoned well. Again, from first sight, I knew the fries would be on point and yes, I was right hahahaha if you like ranch to dip your fries, their ranch is ok but you're better off just dipping it in ketchup. Ask to be seated in Bernice's section! She was an awesome waitress. She let us know that she knew we were seated and got everything and anything we asked for quickly. The restaurant was clean and the servers and staff members were friendly. They have the traditional type of breakfast fare: eggs, bacon, omelette, biscuits and gravy, pancakes, etc. The menu isn't large, but they have some thing for everyone. I created my own omelette with four ingredients: spinach, onions, bacon, and jack cheese. The three egg omelette came out fluffy and hot. Instead of hashbrowns, I ordered tomato slices. It was very fulfilling. My friend ordered the eggs Benedict and stated that it was a little more saucy than usual, but good. We had coffee with our meal, and they brought out a carafe with hot coffee so we wouldn't need to ask for refills. The coffee was really strong for my liking, but it worked. read more

I was traveling from the Yosemite area back to Los Angeles early on a Saturday morning and needed breakfast. Given the lure of the cheapest gas in the area, I thought I would give the casino a try for a meal. I'm glad I did! The room is well lit and features high-ceiling big-timber lodge decor with a river-rock fireplace as the visual centerpiece. The service here is excellent - likely the most attentive I've experienced in a long time. I was seated immediately, with coffee and water (with lemon wedge!) dropped off in moments. The menu is classic American diner/cafe and is exactly what I needed. I know this menu is somewhat out of fashion right now but for me it's comfortingly nostalgic. My "create your own omelette" with spinach, bacon and cheddar was perfectly cooked along with hashbrowns and sourdough toast, which were exactly what you would expect for a place like this. The portions of spinach and bacon were generous, and the eggs were perfectly cooked. My water and coffee were kept topped up throughout the meal and my payment was promptly collected tableside. Goldfields has really good Fried Chicken. It's always on the menu. For some reason they haven't served the Fried Chicken for a few months now. We enjoy Goldfields Cafe about once per week. We always hear patrons asking for the Fried Chicken, yet they say sorry we don't have it at this time. Goldfields seems to have no answer why ????????
