Love this place! Everything is fresh and made to order. Delicious food and great atmosphere!

We came here around 830 on a Saturday morning and the place was pretty busy already. There were 4 staff members and at least a couple were related, so definitely a small business. There were a few tables inside and a few on the outside. We ordered to everything bagel breakfast sandwiches and a latte and chai latte with soy milk. Overall the bagels were a little dry and not toasted and the cheese on the egg was not melted, which was surprising. We did ask for some cream cheese for the bagels and that was nice. The eggs were cooked in a pan to order which was also nice. The drinks were pretty standard and nothing special. Overall we enjoyed our food and drinks here and are glad it's an option but there could have been a few improvements made to the sandwiches. read more

In a busy city, I would give this place a 3-star review, but because of the limited opportunities in this mountain town, it gets 4-stars today. Small coffee shop off the main road from Bobs Market. There is room for about 13 seating inside including two pub style tables. Everything is made fresh to order so don't expect a quick in and out especially if there are other patrons her. There was a one employee working and could have been a bit more friendly, but to each is own. There is a sign at the register that reads "please be patient, everything is made to order. We are a small business, not Starbucks." The coffee is good. The breakfast burritos are just ok . There wasn't any salsa or hot sauce for the burrito so it was a bit plain. The fact that they are open on a Tuesday morning while the competition is closed Tuesday and Wednesdays like a few other businesses to match China Peak days/hours is pretty good. Cheers! read more

We waited 45 minutes and still didn't get our coffee drinks so we asked for a refund. Major waste of time. By the time we got the refund back they were on 02 and we were number 08. Don't go here if you value your time. The owner was nice however and would come back if it were empty. read more

I came here two days in a row for lunch and breakfast. Lunch order was a turkey sandwich and a hot matcha, and breakfast was a croissant bacon/egg/cheese with black coffee and muffin. The two employees where incredible gracious and friendly. They asked for a little patience in getting my food because everything is made to order. It didn't take long at all and was absolutely delicious. It was extremely clean inside the cafe and I got to enjoy sitting on the patio to read a book for a few hours. This was a lovely little retreat during my camping trip and I hope they know they are appreciated!! read more

I can definitely appreciate this coffee shop. As it's the main one in downtown Shaver . The food was good, service was fine just didn't seem too friendly or maybe the guy was a little anti social. Anyway, as I've mentioned the coffee was great just didn't end up taking photos of our food/drinks. We got a turkey wrap and a croissant breakfast sandwich. Mountain Tripper is a little coffee shop that is open early and has a wide variety of options for morning coffee as well as some quick breakfast. It seems like it's a pretty popular spot and frequented by many of the locals. It is a quaint little shack tucked into a shopping center with pine trees, and a cute little raccoon carving out front. We went there early on Sunday morning and there were quite a few people coming in and out. We had a pretty large order, but it was ready almost right away. The breakfast wrap was a bit on the small side, but super tasty and enough to keep the hunger at bay. My daughters enjoyed the açai bowls and the oatmeal was also pretty great with some beautiful berries that were on top. Overall, this is a pretty good place to grab a coffee and a quick breakfast on your way out to the lake or the trails. Five stars! read more

Would never come back. Whoever the guy taking orders at the register with glasses septum ring and Pink Floyd shirt RUDE. Asked how his morning was and just stared at me. Took our order and we waited 40 MINUTES for 2 breakfast sandwiches was told it got "lost" but there were 4 orders including ours. Shaver Lake, Ca. We stoped in here around noon to get a couple of lattes as we were in need of a coffee beverage. I decided on a hot one Steph chose the iced version. This is when we were informed that the lattes are $7.50 each, much more than what you would even pay at an airport! Steph mentioned that they must be really good lattes for that price but they were nothing but average for the iced, below average for the hot one. While plenty hot, it lacked any flavor at all except weak coffee flavored milk. We were thinking of buying a lunch but I decided it probably is a further waste of money, so I don't know how anything else measures up. We did try a pastry that was ok, nothing special. I asked for directions to the bathroom and was told there isn't one. I asked if there was one close by and I was told "I don't know". read more

We stopped at Mountain Tripper Cafe after we checked out of our cabin for Memorial weekend. It was really busy and the parking lot was nearly full. Lots of people were also leaving the area after checking out so it made the food and drinks take a bit long but I understand it, really cute and cosy shop with 3-4 employees in a small space. But they did a good job of handling the crowd and we weren't in a rush cause we took in the last of the area before heading back to Fresno. The smoothies were really refreshing and made perfectly... the breakfast croissants were also really good. I believe the wrap was good but I didn't ask my brother-in-law. Great place to get coffee in the morning . All of the drinks tasted pretty good . Went here a few times since this looked like the only cafe in Shaver lake. They have sandwiches and breakfast croissants . I really loved my breakfast croissant . It was cooked perfectly and it was delicious . The sandwich was ok . They didn't put much turkey in the sandwich. Would probably skip this the next time. I would say the pricing is a little high . I purchased 2 coffees and 2 sandwich's and it was almost $40 . The Mountain Tripper is my go to for morning coffee and bagels. Awesome little shop, tucked right off of the main drag. Always greeted with a smile. My Carmel Macchiato was perfect, substantial coffee taste, unlike most. Great Carmel flavor, as well. The everything bagel was lightly toasted, with cheese, warm egg, salt and pepper to finish. Came to this spot twice while visiting the area because the breakfast sandwich was so yummy! I got the croissant with ham and was less to surprised when the eggs came out seasoned to perfection. My toddler loved it too. Great coffee as well, not generic or bland. This was full flavor! Ask for half and half behind the counter and you shall receive. Friendly staff but I can see how during busy seasons it could take a few minutes to get your order, so bring your patience and remember you're on mountain time out here! My boyfriend and I have been coming here for years now, even before when it was called "Bob's Blue Sky Cafe." Maybe it should've stayed that way. After having a sudden change in lunch plans, we decided to come here because we didn't have a lunch prepared. After spending $10.95 on each sandwich and leaving a tip it was a total of about $24. For ONE piece of turkey? On top of it, we felt almost like a bother coming inside. Considering it felt like we were one of the first customers in a while today, it was just us... very empty, we don't understand why the attitude was poor. Came to this little coffee shop Oct 5th. There was an older man working with a young kid. Horrible customer service. Ordered bagel with bacon. The bacon was not fully cooked. They gave us wrong coffee order. Definitely wasn't a friendly environment. I would try somewhere with better customer service experience. read more

He spoke so kindly about Eli and the other staff. Stating the hospitality was above and beyond, the coffee was great and loved the ambiance. Decent small coffee house. Service is fairly slow but the women working here were friendly and laid back. Breakfast wraps could have really use some salsa but fueled us for the long ride to our lunch stop. What a gem in Shaver Lake. They just bought the place in December 2021. They are kind of hidden back behind Bob's Market but have easy parking because of that. We had a club sandwich on sourdough instead of a wrap and it was great. They use ranch dressing instead of mayo which was good and a little different. Love the option of the Maui potato chips! Ice tea was surprisingly good and the service was great. Will have to try their espresso next time. read more

This is my favorite spot in Shaver to visit. After a long hike the best thing to do is visit Mountain Trippers with my folks! The peanut butter smoothie and their iced teas hit the spot perfectly. Their coffee is great too. They have a super cute and cozy deck with plenty of shade to relax and sip away. The inside is comfortable too if you prefer to sit there. Plenty of parking and easy to find. You won't regret visiting the best kept secret of Shaver Lake! Their service is excellent too. Loved eating here! Got the avocado toast which is sourdough, hummus, and avocado. I'm craving it again this morning! It's a really cute shop inside and out. Very friendly staff that made sure to fill us in on the drink and food of the day which was a fun charcuterie box and fresh lemonade. I'll be back for sure. read more

I'm not from the area, but I feel confident in saying this is probably the best coffee spot in the Shaver area. It's a pretty small area with very limited choices so this place was a gem. I got an iced vanilla latte. It's simple, but I thought the place was cute and the service was quick. Good amount of outdoor seating and I really enjoyed my coffee.
