Food is nasty and expensive. I think the key is that you go there after lunch time so they have used up all the leftovers so you don't have to eat hummus that taste like a week old and pita bread that is bone dry like a napkin. Otherwise I dont know how people can give them good reviews.

Decided to stop by since I was in the area. The restaurant was about to close early so I was one of their last customers. Service was quick and very friendly. Also the prices were okay. I got a chicken shawarma entree (chicken, rice, and a side salad with garlic and 2 pita breads) for about $15.99 + tax and the portions were big. However, the food was just okay. The food was lukewarm and not fresh, but I did come in at closing so I got the last of the preparations for that day. Also the dressing for the salad was not tasteful at all. The food is not terrible but it's better shawarma spots in Metro Detroit.

Continuing our exploration of restaurants near our hotel we had a late lunch at Shawarma Grill. We used to regularly dine at a similar restaurant in Sterling Heights and thought SG might be a good replacement for this side of town. They are open for dine in as well as take out with limited seating capacity. We had studied the photos, reviews, and menus and had a pretty good idea of what we might order before we arrived. I wanted what I always ordered at the other place: Chicken Shawarma Wheat Pita with Garlic Sauce and assorted veggies. While some places have the chicken pre-sliced in a warming bin, here it is freshly sliced when ordered! It was then rolled, wrapped, and put on the grill for a few minutes. My wife had recent oral surgery and she has been on a liquid and soft food diet and chose the Curry Stew. The verdict is in and I'm certain that we will be back to try more menu items! Good food, good service, good portions, and reasonable prices!

I stopped in for a quick lunch. Chicken shawarma was hot off the spit. I was offered a choice of bread and garnishes. Facility was clean. Staff was helpful. WiFi is good & safe (encrypted). I will return.

My job sent me to Detroit for work and on the way into the office from the airport me and my coworkers stopped here and we were glad we did after we got our food. The initial greeting was a bit rough as we didn't know what we wanted and needed help and explanation (first timers) and they seemed annoyed kind of. But once all 3 of us ordered and received our food it was absolutely delicious. I ordered a chicken bowl and it was seasoned to perfection. The spicy rice was not spicy at all though. And my coworkers also loved their dishes as well. One ordered a wrap and said it was really good.

Awesome place!! Friendly, delish and cheaper than usual. Beef kufta was so good. They added all kinds of veggies too, very nice people!! Their lentil soup was with some noodles that blended in really well with the lentil itself. I will be back!

Great, fresh and excellent food. I drove by this place for over a year and decided to stop by few weeks ago for lunch. After that stop I'm there at lease once a week with my colleagues if not more. The owner is nice and their XL sandwich is amazing. Keep the good taste and service and for sure I will keep coming back. read more

Little restaurant with big flavor! You can customize your order with different veggies which is nice if you're picky like me ;-) The chicken shawarma wrap was delicious, well cooked and flavorful. O.k., this little place is a good find. Classic Med menu with a twist. They build your sandwich in front of you with a bunch of little options. Delicious. Simple. Fresh. Good prices. Owner was nice when we got there but chick on phone was a nightmare. My fattoush was iceberg lettuce and NO FLAVOR CHX OR SAUCE .... how do you mess up garlic dip? So glad we gave house of falafel a second chance that's the only place we'll go now.... sorry shawarma grill read more

Website said 45-60 minutes for delivery. Waited 90 minutes, even though the place is literally 3 minutes from my home. Food was cold when it got to us and we ended up only taking a few bites. Wouldn't recommend it. read more

Great restaurant for a quick meal pick-up whether just a sandwich, salad or tray for catering different sized groups. Always fast, friendly and the food is always great. Portion size is great for the price. Family loves all of the choices. Call ahead to have it ready. You may have to run in quickly. Sometimes parking can be difficult. read more

Best shawarma sandwich in Michigan! They have pita sandwiches and rice bowls... you pick the toppings and there are many choices. It's a middle eastern version of chipotle or subway. The staff is very friendly, the food fresh, and the portions are large. Your palate won't be disappointed. Enjoy! read more

Can't say good or bad. Couldn't walk in. The display of old boxes mixed with garbage in the window was well matched with the garbage scattered on the outside. How can a restaurant represent itself like this. Gross. They deserve a citation from the city. The entire center was dirty to the point of scary. Never turning into 'La Mirage' center again. Pity the mall turned to this. Shame on the land lords. read more

Extremely bad restaurant! Restaurant did not deliver all my items. When contacting them they refused to offer any help. Did not offer replacement or refund for missing items. Tried it for lunch the other day after being open only 2 days. Best hummus I've ever tried, hands down. They're trying to do a middle eastern version of Chipotle and it works. The flavor of the food is fantastic - best beef shawarma I've had in Detroit. Also tried a sample of their beef kabob and it was out of this world. Once they get their service routine down it will be a excellent place. Highly recommended. read more

Fast delicious fresh lots of choices How much fun to point and choose from such sn enormous variety of things like red cabbage spinach sometimes even kale along with regular lettuces pickles tomatoes goes on anon I love the baba gnosh on my wrap Go after the lunch rush and the service is fast and there's no wait. It's come in handy after my visits to the Karmanos Cancer Center isn't easy drive down West Highway between Inkster and 12 mile By the way the price is very reasonable and the serving is plentiful read more

The BEST customer service I have EVER experienced. I'm big on walking into an establishment and catching the vibe that the person on the other side is excited to help me. There has never been a time that I've come over for lunch and I didn't receive the warmest welcome I've ever felt. The staff is so personable. & you can tell that they ALL really take PRIDE in making sure that the customer is not only happy but overly satisfied. Today I went in to purchase a salad (The fattoush salad (add onion, garlic and black olive) - it was my first time having it and it was amazing. I'd eaten half the salad and decided that I wanted to replenish the salad and add more toppings. I went back and asked for extras and they gave me what I asked for and more without me asking at all. They re-boxed my entire meal and added a few extras with a smile! not one time did either one of the staff members come across annoyed or careless. I walked out excited because I TRULY appreciate the pride this establishment takes in giving the BEST to their customers. from the food to the staff! I'd come here any day. read more

The first time I came here the food and service was ok, but the place looked dirty! Being a manager myself I took it as maybe a bad day! I gave them a second shot today.... HORRIBLE. They guys working looked confused with what came with the order, they gave small portions and forgot my dressing! But the worst was the place was FILTHY... garbages inside and out overflowing and the cooking stations were dirty! Didn't look like anyone had picked up all day! Needless to say I won't be back and I don't recommend it! If your in Southfield I recommend Shish Kabob Express, better food larger portions and always clean! read more

We stumbled upon this place by accident. We needed a veggie meal and the falafel were great. We had a picnic and we ordered two trays of shawarma sandwiches. One tray was meat and the other was chicken. They were great hits with all the people that attended the function. They were so fresh and well made, we are regulars at this place. I think the guy that I dealt with was the owner. He was so welcoming, gentle, and service oriented. If he keeps it up, this should be a multi location well respected operation. We had falafel as carryout from this place . I expected some fresh ones. Was disappointed that they were fried from frozen ones. Their service was very poor. There was unhygienic handling of food. She carried out falafel with both her hands together against her chest so that they don't drop. Additionally I felt they could be more courteous to the customer for the amount of time we were made to wait when they were not busy. Finally after I sat in the car and placed the bag found the outside of the bag was stained with hummus which spoiled my clothes!!! read more

If I could give it 6 stars, I would. Purchased a groupon for this place curious to try it out and I am so happy I did. I got the pick 3 combination (PLENTY of food) it was delicious. Have tried this place 3-4 times hoping it'll be better and it's just not good. The place itself is small, gets extremely busy during lunch, but staff is very friendly and working as quickly as they can. The beef and chicken shawarma are extremely oily. The falafel sandwich is average. Both types of rice are oily as well. My coworkers have tried it as well and felt the same. Unfortunately won't be going back. Shawarma Grill was established based on the idea of providing our customers with fresh and fast middle eastern cuisine. Chef Neil takes the cuisine and culture of his homeland to the next level with a breathtaking restaurant and delicious flavors with very reasonable prices.

Meet the Business Owner: Ziad B.

The restaurant is led by Chef Neil Kaskorkis, an industry veteran. His restaurant experience began 25 years ago in the Middle East. As mentioned earlier, Neil started cooking 25 years ago as a Chef in Iraq. Neil quickly mastered these and began experimenting with his own dishes. The feedback from his family was always very positive. He knew one day he would have to parlay this skill into a business opportunity
