First time trying this restaurant. We ordered take-out on a Friday night. We ordered a waygu beef egg rolls, a chicken shawarma plate, as well as the waygu beef shawarma plate. The egg rolls were delicious. They were drizzled with a garlic/yogurt sauce and served with tangy and yummy dipping sauce. Both shawarma plates came with the following sides: parsley tabouli, hummus, and rice. The waygu meat was moist, tender and had a hint of smoke. The chicken was also tender and moist, delicious! Sadly when we got home, our meal was missing the Naan. Since it was too far to go back, we had to go without an important part of our meal (which was a bummer) and hence taking 1 star off the overall review.

I have tried many locations for Shawarma Guys and their food can be a hit or miss. This time, it was a big hit! I loved my Wagyu Beef Shawarma Cheesesteak and would 100% get it again. I thought it was stuffed very nicely, but wished the peppers and onion pieces were larger instead of being small, diced pieces. I think it would've helped to balance the overall flavor as well. However, the meat was cooked to perfection and I was happy with it overall. I know it's a top 100 place, but I think they need to work on their overall consistency across their locations to truly make it worthy of the top 100 spot.

Second time at Shawarma Guys. My first visit was about 6 years ago at the South Park food truck, and honestly, I didn't like the food. I remember ordering their bowl, lemon chicken, wagyu egg rolls, and falafel. Everything was just okay.. nothing terrible, but the flavors didn't stand out. I gave it a 5/10 back then. Fast forward to now, I kept seeing people rave about the "Shawarma Bryan's Way," so I decided to give it another shot. I was meeting up with my cousin at the La Mesa location and even told her beforehand that I hadn't liked it before but it had been 6 years. I spent over $65 and ordered two Wagyu Shawarma Bryan's Way, a Philly cheesesteak, and (again) wagyu egg rolls. After the first bite of the crispy Wagyu Bryan's Way, I immediately remembered why I didn't like it the first time. The beef seasoning was way too overpowering. The crispy pita was actually really good, but the beef just didn't work for me. If the seasoning were toned down, I think it could be really good. My cousin and I was disappointed and we ended up going to eat at another place afterwards. Mind you, we love shawarma wrapped but just not here. Second time here, and unfortunately, it'll be my last. On a positive note, the service was great!

I had never been to this location but was in the area with a friend and decided to check it out. It was super easy to order through the kiosk and make any modifications if needed. I got the chicken and wagu beef plate with rice, salad, and hummus. The chicken and beef were super flavorful and not dry at all. The garlic feta sauce was delicious too and paired well with the pita. The location was clean and the staff were friendly. It is reasonably priced as I paid $22 for the plate and it was plenty of food. Will definitely be coming back!

Tried the shawarma wrap (Brian's way) so that it's crispy. Soooo good! Super crispy and super flavorful. I asked for the pickles on the side which was the right way to go so you can add as you go. The only thing is that there's always this grainy texture I get every time I eat the beef. I don't know if it's the meat or the sauce. Still pretty good and I will definitely come back. We also go the Philly cheesesteak which was so good! The right amount of sauce and meat with cheese on top. There's a hint of spice because of the jalepenos in it. The only thing I would change would be that the bread is a little toasted. Came out soggy but still pretty good. Enjoyed every bite.

5/5- great customer service. Easy to order. I went ahead and ordered off of the company website. I asked for extra garlic sauce. It is delicious. The presentation of the food was great as well. Salad was fantastic. Hummas was creamy and nice. I will say the rice had a strong taste of cardamom, it was not bad, but could of been a little less. Besides that, I will be back and I highly recommend checking this place out.

This place was 10/10 the bowl was $16 and filling, the meat was so tender! I got the egg rolls for free as I joined their app! I saved those for later as the bowl was already filling! Definitely shareable! Place was super clean and I didn't wait at all for my food. Which was great as I was on my lunch break. The staff was nice and professional.

Got the chicken shawarma Bryan's way (crispy) togo. I suggest eating it immediately as it loses the crispiness instantly. The chicken was dry and the wait did take awhile, around 15-20 minutes. Service was good and place was cleanly otherwise.

Listen here! This place is bomb! My whole family enjoyed their food, including our picky 4 yr old. And the amount of food you get for the price is insane! Even the kids meal was packed. Our daughter had plenty of leftovers, that I helped her eat the next day lol. I wish they had a location in the IE & LA as well!

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! The only thing that beats the food, is the staff and awesome customer service from a family owned restaurant - what else could you want?! We are an EMS team and stopped in for lunch and they treated us so well, offered some extra menu goodies and everything was amazing. Definitely try the egg rolls! Everything about this spot is amazing! Had to check out this place after hearing so much about it and it did not disappoint. Got the wagyu & chicken plate as well as the wagyu wrap. Everything tasted so fresh and it's obvious that a lot of care goes into sourcing and choosing ingredients. Met the owner as well and he was so incredibly nice! If you haven't tried Shawarma Guys, you're seriously missing out! This place lives up to the hype and then some. The flavors are incredible--everything tastes so fresh, perfectly seasoned, and cooked with care. The beef and chicken shawarma are juicy and packed with flavor, and the garlic sauce? Addictive. You'll find yourself asking for extra. The portions are generous, so you always leave satisfied (and usually with leftovers). On top of that, the staff is super friendly and makes you feel welcome, even when they're busy. You can tell they take pride in both their food and their service. It's the kind of spot you crave again and again. Whether you're grabbing a quick lunch or picking up dinner, you'll walk away happy every single time. So glad they have a shop close to home. There's a reason why they're locally famous for their Wagyu Beef and Chicken Shawarma. We tried that dish and the Chicken Cream Chop Pita and both were everything we expected and more from this Middle Eastern street food - evolved into a modern, less greasy yet equally appealing dish/pita/wrap. They have a description of the ingredients in each dish - you just choose the protein. The Wagyu Beef is perfectly tender....shoulder meat so it's less fatty yet filling and delicious. Reminded us of NYC's famous 53rd & 6th street cart! We'll be back. FYI Guy Fieri approved! And the owner Brian is a welcoming guy! read more

I really enjoyed this place. I got the beef and chicken plate and my husband got the cheesesteak sandwich. Both of which were amazing!! The chicken in my plate was CRISP. Think "burnt ends" but chicken, which is not a negative for me. I thought it was great. But if you're looking for juicy, moist chicken, this is not it. My husbands sandwich was SO good. La Mesa is so lucky to get our own Shawarma Guys! I'd only previously eaten at the food truck and, if possible, the food is even better here. The falafel is great! Herby and light inside and really crunchy outside. Perfect! I had the chicken shawarma wrap. It was loaded with chicken and salad/veg, and I loved the occasional crispy pita bits. Others had the chicken shawarma plate which included generous portions of chicken, tabouli, Hummus and rice. Oh that rice! Long grain and flavorful, it's hard to stop eating it. I've been wanting to try this restaurant for a long time and I'm finally glad that I did. The owners were so friendly and helpful. I really took the time to answer any questions I had about the dishes. I gotta say my favorite dish was one of the sides called Iraqi salad. It was just so fresh, refreshing, light and delicious. I probably could eat a whole bowl of that. Definitely would like to go back again and try some different menu items. read more

I'm from outside of the area. I love shawarma and decided to give this place a chance. I noted they had a beef and chicken plate and wasn't sure if I would like the beef. I asked to try the beef and Rawan said I could try a sample. Wow great flavor so I got the beef and chicken and enjoyed the meal. Was finally able to make it to their first place! Came with my partner and pup and we were next in line. It wasn't busy when we got there but we definitely brought a crowd with us lol. One of the owners was present and he was very nice and attentive to our pup, even gave her some yummy chicken -she loved it, obvs. I ordered the half chicken half wagyu plate and my honey ordered the chicken cream chop fries (my go to). While we waiting the cashier offered us some ice cream that is made fresh in house! It was so tasty! I have to get some next time. I love that now they have drinks, and good ones too! Calypso was my choice and Dr Pepper is also an option. Im so happy to see shawarma guys have their own shop, top 3 fave places to eat and having them closer to me is such a sweet deal. read more

I've been going to Shawarma Guys since about 2019 in South Park, San Diego. This is by far some of the most flavorful food. I'm so glad they finally opened a brick and mortar close by my home in La Mesa. I went there today for the first time and was blown away by how many great options they offered at this location that they probably couldn't accommodate on the food truck. The service was outstanding, and the restaurant was clean. I had the Wagyu Beef & Chicken Shawarma plate. Both meats were perfectly seasoned, juicy and pipping hot the way I love my food to be. They yellow basmati rice was soft and delicious, the Hummus is probably one of the best I've ever had and I've had a lot. If anyone in the San Diego area wants some good Middle Eastern/Chaldean food, this is where you should go. If I can give more than 5 stars I would. Continued success Shawarma Guys! read more

Okay, so if you're like me and you're a big fan of Mediterranean food, then you gotta check out Shawarma Guys. The people working there were super nice and the place itself was really clean and inviting, which is always a plus in my book. I went with the beef and chicken shawarma plate, and honestly, it was so good. Like, I'm pretty easily won over by good Mediterranean, but this place definitely hit the spot. We also grabbed some pitas, which were good too, but I think I'd stick with the plate next time, it's just that good. I'd say if you haven't tried it yet, you definitely should! read more

We found this place on Yelp with great reviews so decided to give it a try. It is counter service so order them sit but we took to go. It was a little bit of a wait for the food because they were actually pretty busy with a bunch of pickup and delivery orders coming and going along with some dine-in customers as well. We had the fattoush salad, falafel plate, and wagyu beef and chicken shawarma plate. Everything was very good, very fresh, good flavors, and generous servings. We'll definitely want to come back again when in the area and in the mood for Mediterranean food. read more

I was a little worried since they only had 3.5 stars but we have been here multiple times and have recently excellent service so far. We have tried several dishes and all have been great. Soft opening today for the absolute best shawarma I've had in my life. Tender wagyu, crunchy wagyu rolls, fluffy tabouli, succulent chicken. You name it. They have it. Food came out exceptionally quick and the quality was top notch even after a 30 minute drive home. There is a reason this place was voted number 1 on Yelp and had a spot with Guy Fieri. The new spot continues to live up to those lofty standards! Plenty of parking around the back for those checking it out for the first time. You won't be disappointed! read more

Wow! The food, service, and atmosphere were great here! We ordered the cheesesteak, a plate and the falafel fries and everything was so tasty (we forgot to take photos oops!). Brian, the owner, was there and him along with the employees were so welcoming and helpful! They brought out shawarma egg rolls for us to try for free and they even brought out vegan one for our friend who is a vegetarian! Those were super yummy too! Additionally, we were asking for what sauces they had and Brian went as far as to make us a different sauce that wasn't on the menu and was so good!! I'm hoping he adds it to the menu. First time coming to this place but I always go to the food truck located in South Park. I was in the area and needed my Shawarma Guys fix. The food is as amazing here as well. They have a wide selection of beer. They have delicious Gelato that they let you sample and couldn't leave without getting one. Shout out to Donavan for being so friendly and helpful. read more

Went here bc I been driving by it and saw a YouTube video that it was the best in the country or something, I ordered $50.00+ worth of food which was basically only an appetizer and two entrees, very disappointed the chicken fattoush probably had like 3 little slices of chicken and the rest of the wrap was literally salad, the wagyu egg rolls were mid the meat didn't have much flavor and the shawarma beef and chicken plate barely had any chicken or beef. I've eaten here for lunch and had the fattoush wrap, which was delish!! I've also ordered the Family Tray that feeds 6, but honestly, I think you can feed at least 10! It's a lot of food!! Each time I've visited the restaurant, the team members have been super welcoming and hospitable. I highly recommend Shwarma Guys!! read more

DIDN'T MEET EXPECTATIONS I went to one of their locations after hearing a lot of buzz about how great their food is. I tried a couple of dishes and came away less impressed than I had hoped to be. It was good and fresh, with large portions, but nothing out of the ordinary to justify the rave reviews. Also a bit pricey, like for a wrap that contains more lettuce than meat. One other thing bothered me -- my order appeared to come right out of the kitchen wrapped foil but, by the time I got home 15 minutes later, it was stone cold. read more

Pretty busy on a Friday night. Customer service was very good, super friendly from the moment you walk in. Very clean inside. I have tried this place two times now. The wagyu beef plate was pretty good and decent size. The chicken shawarma wrap was a bit bland. They forgot to put the pickles, onions and sauce in my wrap. That's over half the fillings... 99 cents extra for any sauce cups. Gelato was good. Doubtful I'll go back. read more

After being stranded all night with a flat tire, the owner noticed my distress the next morning and took swift action. Parking close to his business, he personally arranged for his AAA roadside service contact to assist me. There aren't many quick service restaurants with this quality meat. I've been going out of my way to visit the truck in South Park...after giving La Mesa a try the food doesn't miss a beat. And you get the same great service everyone's used to. I figured due to the recent opening they'd need a little time but that wasn't the case. Going to other middle eastern spots just isn't the same after you try Shawarma guys, especially with the new indoor dining option. read more
