A decent small shop. I tried the Shawarma plate with pork. The meat was juicy and crispy, but there was to much "gunk" sauce on top. The salad had no dressing and they used canned cut olives. It was blah. They did not have fresh rice in a big rice cooker. They microwaved rice for my plate which came with either french fries or rice. The servers were very nice and even threw in an apple pie, which had maraschino cherries with the apples. Weird to say the least. I would not run to this eatery. I am usually a very loyal, and dedicated foodie! I had game to this restaurant last night and ordered a shawarma in a pita / laffa. In fact 2, there was a lady there by herself cooking. I appreciate the fact that they took my order last minute, but I was not very impressed with what happened. The beef shawarma should be $8.50 a plate and supposedly comes with rice or fries (that's what's advertised). Upon going over the order multiple times, at least 3 times, she started to pack a to go box with different salad topping I repeatedly asked her "isn't that supposed to go into the pita?" She replied "yes" so I was thinking okay maybe she's just giving a side salad on both plates which sometimes is the case. No, she packed both boxes with the meat, 1 pita type bread, and the salads. After getting a couple drinks as well and a side of fries supposedly for both pitas, she charged me $35 for something that was not even what I wanted! The whole point of bringing money out to pay for Shwarma is the experience, and just the basic due diligence you would know 8 out of 10 people want the schwarma inside of the pita and not a schwarma plate! I then paid for the meal, I told the other owner (assuming that's her husband) that I wanted a pita instead of dabbing globs of material on a piece of bread and eating it is not a real experience. I was not even offered any chance to replace it, or to rectify the situation. It was late I get it, but I would have appreciated the meal at least remade. Bad service from the very beginning. Tried to place an order at the counter but had to repeat it 3x as the cashier would interrupt me while he was talking with his two Armenian friends. The cook and staff do not wear gloves or masks. A guy walked up to pick up his take out order and the cashier sneezed without covering his face. We left. For the price I paid for the beef shawarma in a pita, hummus and coke I could of gone to another local restaurant that I frequent and got more bang for my buck. Came by for the first time today ordered chicken Shawarma on the French roll tasted really good a lot of seasoning a lot of flavor which I love. Also had to try the lahmajun and I have to say it was really good. I usually put Lemon on myn as it is a must you do, but here you don't need to. The meat is seasoned just right. Best Lahmajhun in Burbank! There is another place further north but the dough is too thick. Had a take out order of the potato filled piroshkies and the lahmajun. Both were excellent! Will be back for more piroshkies, next time with meat filling as well. They don't care what you order. If you are allergic to Onions do not expect them read your order that you had requested no onion. They will put it in your sandwich like it or not.
