While my family and I were visiting on a Wednesday in June, I actually wanted to stop by and try out their Impossible Victory Falafel at Shawarma Palace, part of Disneyland New York's Tastiest lineup. I ended up ordering the plant based Impossible falafel wrap, and my husband went with the chicken shawarma wrap. This place also offers the Captain America Shield Sipper and bottled beverages! The Impossible Victory Falafel wrap was absolutely delicious! It was super filling, packed with bold spices, and the plant based falafel had a satisfying crunch with a flavorful, well seasoned interior. The original Shawarma Palace cart, next to Web Slingers, offers some tasty treats. In the past, I've enjoyed the chicken shawarma and the plant-based Impossible Victory falafel shawarma. I recently tried the new Denver Breakfast shawarma, and it was okay. There needed to be more ingredients, such as the ham, bell peppers, and cheese. The flavor was decent, and the wrap was warm and soft. The spicy ketchup that comes with the Denver Breakfast was a nice addition to every bite. It had a little spice and was sweeter than regular ketchup. It's a quick snack to get the morning started. It's been a minute since I had the chicken or plant-based shawarma, but I would still get those if I had the craving and wanted something different to eat. Cold drinks are also available, and Magic Key passholders receive discounts. The reason I dropped my rating to three stars on this review update is the decline in value. The price increase for what you get now isn't worth it anymore. I know it's Disney prices, but still. There's far better food value in the parks, especially for a cart item. The Shawarma Palace is a food cart located in Avengers Campus near the ride Webslingers. I ordered New York's Tastiest. I had high hopes for this but it just was not good at all. Two of my friends and I ordered this, we all threw it away after a couple bites. The chicken had a mushy consistency and the flavor/spices had a sour bitter taste to it. The coconut yogurt-tahini sauce was lumpy and kind of gritty, and the flavor was off. The reviews are so low for this place and I don't think it deserves it. The chicken shawarma here (while definitely not authentic) is pretty dang good and the sauce that it comes with is also delish. At around $15, it's a reasonable price (considering you're in Disneyland) for what you get. A-okay! I had the Impossible Breakfast Sha-warm-up with a side of the Sriracha spiced Maple Syrup. I thought the wrap was just fine! It did the trick and tasted average. There was nothing special about it. I wish there was more flavor, although surprisingly, the impossible breakfast sausage carried a lot of flavor. But the sausage's flavor got lost with the bread, egg, and potatoes. Wish this had more seasoning and it would've been much better! First the Shawarma Palace Too cart was closed for months, eventually being replaced by some other cart-- making it even tougher to get a hold of the plant-based breakfast Shawarma. It was always a stressful moment rushing to see if they'd already sold out of our beloved breakfast item and since they don't offer a mobile app for Shawarma Palace you can't order in advance. I would say 50% of the time we went for breakfast they would already be sold out long before breakfast service ended. So imagine our surprise when a few months ago they suddenly dropped the plant-based breakfast option, replacing it was a new one featuring chicken eggs, cow cheese, and ham made from pigs. They had the nerve to tell us the old plant-based Shawarma wasn't popular. Oh really? Then why was it always selling out? And why bring chicken eggs to the menu at a time when chicken eggs are extremely hard to come by and extremely overpriced? It just doesn't make sense. At least they could offer their animal-based breakfast wrap AND the plant-based breakfast one so people had a choice! Finally tried out the wraps in Avengers Campus. There are two small carts of this chain located inside Disney California Adventure Park both in this area. In the Avengers movie, the team goes out to feast on shawarma during the credits after the big Battle of New York. It's a fun scene where the heroes look much more relaxed. Breakfast wrap - eggs, plant based breakfast sausage, cheese and tots in a pita - Super disappointed after hearing all the great reviews. There was nothing special about this. The pita was soggy. People say this is the best wrap? :( Spiced Maple Syrup - shriracha syrup - it was good enough, but could have used more spice. They also have a chicken wrap and falafel wrap available. If your craving a wrap, definitely hit up the Ronto Wraps in Galaxy's Edge. All 3 are so much better with great flavors! Plus, it's made on site instead of pre-wrapped sitting in a warmer at the cart. Otherwise, there are so many better breakfast options. But the chicken shawarma from Shawarma Palace is the most delicious thing I've ever purchased at any of the Disneylands, ever. Taste-wise, that is. Of all the things that intrigued me the most about Avengers Campus, it's that they actually turned the Avengers post-credit shawarma scene into an actual food option! I love me some shawarma, so obviously that was the first thing I had to handle on my initial visit to Avengers Campus. You have two options. The New York's Tastiest is a chicken shawarma wrap. The Impossible Victory Falafel is a falafel and cauliflower wrap. Both come with coconut yogurt-tahini sauce. As of this review, both are $12.99. I got the New York's Tastiest. The shawarma wrap itself is probably not going to look very photogenic because they're all premade and already wrapped up, waiting for someone to buy it. But as far as the food goes? I'm not kidding, this might be my favorite food option in the entire Disneyland Resort now. The marinade on the chicken is really really good. I'm not saying it's totally authentic, but damn it hit the spot for sure. Unfortunately the wrap does fall apart fairly easily because the steam from keeping it warm makes the wrap soggy. But I'll let it slide, because the chicken does taste amazing. Tzatziki sauce went really well with the chicken as well. If anything, I'm glad this joke scene turned into real food. New York's Tastiest: 3.5/5 As I have expressed in other reviews about Disney food... it is not the greatest but this is definitely better than the rest. BUT, to call this shawarma would be almost a lie. As soon as I ate this, the meat tasted like chicken tikka masala and the sauce was like Indian raita. They were not bad but it is unfair to call this shawarma. The chicken had a very watery flavor, as if the chicken absorbed all the condensation while tucked in the bread, and had strong Indian style seasonings (think garam masala). The sauce, though they say has cucumber, does not taste of it all (this is coming from a cucumber hater). It however does have a slight hint of "spoilage", like a sour note that just does not feel right, so keep that in mind if you have a weak stomach. Disney typically gives us good food. There are a few exceptions and sometimes they don't quite hit the mark, especially for ethnic and foreign foods. The Shawarma Palace stands in Avengers Campus are decent for Disney food, but in terms of "shawarma" or "Lebanese" food . . . it's a big no no. First off a small tip - the stand in the center of campus closest to Web Slingers always has a line 2-3x longer than the stand by Guardians - go to the Guardians one! We ordered both options for dinner, the New York's Tastiest which is the chicken and the Impossible Victory Falafel. First questionable notion is the falafel . . . the menu reads "Plant-based Falafel and Cauliflower Wrap, Garlic Spread, Hummus and Coconut Yogurt-Tahini Sauce with Pickled Vegetables". . . But, falafel is already "plant based" so is this supposed to be "plant based" Impossible meat? Or is it actually supposed to be "falafel" by the Impossible company? That in it of itself makes for a questionable choice by Disney. I will say however, this was the better of the two wraps. The falafel was pretty decent (not home-made decent or Zankou chicken decent, but acceptable for Disney!). Sadly the wrap had no hummus, garlic, or tahini, which, again, why the coconut? What middle eastern country has ever used coconut in a shawarama or falafel wrap?? Luckily you can't taste the coconut it's just a pointless option. Now for the chicken. First off, why is "chicken" shawarma the main option? Beef and lamb have always been the "shawarma" and what Tony Stark actually ate. If anything, they should offer beef in addition to chicken and falafel. Anywho, this wrap also had the tahini, garlic, and veggies, all of which were included this time. The chicken had good flavor but was too dry and all the garlic had been spooned to one end of the wrap. Both come on a na'an bread - not pita - which is similar to that from Ronto Roasters and it's pretty good, warm, fluffy and thick. Both wraps also come with a side of tzatziki which, again, why? Since when is tzatziki served with shawarma? Tzatziki goes with gyros, from Greece, not shawarma. We had to do it. I mean, we couldn't *not* sample the Shawarma Palace wares! Now, granted, we didn't expect much going in - we wanted sustenance that wouldn't require waiting in an hour's-long queue - but really, with this cart. I guess it was lunchtime, and the park was crowded, but it felt like it took forever to get to the front (this is what I've never understood about things like this cart and, say, In N Out: the menu is only so big. What on *earth* could be causing so much confusion that it takes you 5 minutes to make a decision?) At any rate, we'd decided to order one of each sandwich and split them both, so we had a chance to sample both the chicken and the falafel versions. Quick note - the cutesy names they give the sandwiches did nothing to make up for the lackluster flavor or terrible presentation. The "New York's Tastiest" (chicken) and the "Impossible Victory" (falafel) were served in lukewarm, slightly sticky pita with a suggestion of some kind of red sauce. As far as taste...to be honest, we drenched both pitas in the included sauce, which, confusingly, was a tzatziki. Never in my life have I had a shawarma with a tzatziki, but thank goodness it was offered, because the sandwich would've been inedible without it. If that chicken pita was New York's tastiest, I'd hate to try something they deem as nasty. Not that it was awful, but it definitely wasn't good. If you get the difference. The falafel version was our favorite by far (and the reason I'm giving this 2 stars instead of 1). To this day, I'm struggling to understand the naming of this sandwich - "Impossible Victory". They claimed it was made with Impossible falafel, but falafel already IS plant-based, so I have to believe the "impossible" in this is a throw-back to the movies because it makes zero sense with the protein itself. At any rate, as I said, the falafel version was much better. The falafel was in no kind of ball-type-shape when we pried the sticky pita apart, and neither was it crispy. Or hot, if we're keeping track. Still, they layered some cauliflower into the wrap as well, which I rather enjoyed. This sandwich was also mercilessly slathered with the confusing tzatziki, because it would've been quite dry otherwise. We split the sandwiches between us, but both agree the falafel was the winner of that snack session. And we also agreed that after this tasting, we're good. Mediterranean/Middle-Eastern wraps, be it shawarmas, gyros, döners, etc, are one of our most loved travel foods for their usual reliability to satisfy for the cost. That said, Disney's California Adventure's food quality here was like the weakest moments of the Marvel movies made into a sandwich-- definitely the worst food, value and service we had between the parks. Right at the peak of lunchtime on a Sunday they were not staying on top of keeping either cart well stocked, so they were sold out of the chicken shawarma at both booths and only had TONS of falafel shawarma. Normally we like falafel, too, but these had lost all their crisp. The seasoned cauliflower was a good flavor but texturally didn't help these $13 sad shawarmas to get the crispness that they needed (and which the veggies and slaw on the Ronto wraps in Disneyland's Galaxy Edge do well). The coconut tzatziki -- which sounded interesting and tasty -- was major weak sauce too. Seating spots nearby were horrendous, and no shade. The food cart is near the Ancient Sanctum, and there's another (Shawarma Palace Too) by Hyperion Theater. In the morning they serve a breakfast "Sha-warm-up" with a plant-based sausage, omelet, cheese, and potato bites. Around 10:00 AM or so, they start switching to the chicken shawarma wrap and the plant-based falafel. They also sell drinks and Iron Man's Infinity Gauntlet soda holder. I was able to try New York's Tastiest, which was a decent portion size. The ratio of bread to filling is a little off, so I was left with more bread in the end. The Coconut Yogurt-Tahini sauce helps enhance the flavor, and the chicken went well with the pickled vegetables. Shawarma Palace saved the day when you could not get any other food inside Avengers Campus. It is the only walk up food cart they have. The queue was like 40 people and moved pretty slow. Only good thing is there are shows all around, it helps kill some time. If you go in the summer, there is no shade in line. New York Tastiest - $12.99 - Spiced chicken shawarma in a pita. The sauces help enhance the flavor. I enjoyed it but I was hungry and just down my beer before I ate it. How a parent eats with kiddos. Worth a try! read more

Ever since seeing the first Avengers movie -I have wanted to try shawarma. (I am sure I am not the only one.) So when we saw that they had a Shawarma Palace cart at Disney California Adventure we decided we had to give it a try. We opted for the regular Shawarma wrap and it was great. It was a bit in the spicier side, but they give you a side of yogurt sauce that if you use it with the wrap helps to cut the spice. The amount of chicken is generous, it is well seasoned, and the tzatziki sauce is too good to be vegan (kudos for the cup size being actually being included and enough for your entire wrap). It is perfect as a refreshing snack or light meal when you want to avoid fried food. Also, it hold its heat well so it feels fresher than it is. Honestly, it's become a favorite of mine. Funny. I love Disney and love shawarma, but I couldn't get behind this one. First of all, it doesn't really seem like a shawarma. It's really a chicken burrito. It's not thinly sliced meat, just seasoned chicken chunks. And the taste just want there for me. If you have seen the first Avengers movie, then you know during the end credits scene, the Avengers get together for a well earned meal from the Shawarma Palace, New York's Tastiest. Well, it was no surprise that Disney would put a shawarma cart in Avengers Campus. This is a solid shawarma wrap for amusement park food. There are two options: chicken or vegetarian. If you're there early in the morning, there are breakfast options too. It definitely is one of the tastier options in the park that isn't pizza, hot dog, or burger. I'm glad that Disney is expanding their menus to include different options. I've tried the chicken on multiple occasions and one wrap is definitely shareable. It's a big wrap and is filling. There are two different carts located in Avengers Campus so choose the one that doesn't have a huge line. I've heard good things about the plant-based breakfast one so I'll be sure to try that on my next visit! read more

Years ago I tried chicken shawarma when a coworker brought me some from a nearby Lebanese restaurant. I've been a fan ever since, but when ordering out from various places the quality can vary greatly. My wife and I visited Disneyland in December 2021 and on our last night there we decided to give this place a shot as the park would be closing soon. Fortunately they were still open and we got a fresh one, which is sometimes a concern (we got a stale Ronto Wrap earlier in the day). My wife wanted to get two but I told her we better start with one in case we didn't like it since they cost $12.99 each. There was a lot more chicken than I was expecting and was wrapped (poorly) in a pita wrapped in foil. There was a substantial amount of garlic sauce on it and typically that would be a good thing but this was very messy and I was concerned I'd be wearing it if I wasn't careful. Since this is a cart there is no seating or stand-up tables so we had to eat it sitting on the benches across from Web Slingers. (After we finished we found a second location by Guardians of the Galaxy which had picnic tables nearby.) The wrap very tasty and had quite a kick to it which is unusual for Disney food, but also I've never had spicy shawarma before. I liked it a lot although the pita was a bit too chewy. My wife tried it and said while it tasted good it was too spicy for her so I'm glad we only got one. It took me a while to eat it and afterward my lips were tingling from the lingering spice. I'd definitely get this again.
