Every dish tastes like it's made with care and quality ingredients. A special shout-out to Amir and Navid, who have both taken amazing care of me. Amir is not only an incredible bartender (his espresso martini is seriously one of the best I've ever had!), but he's also the manager and truly goes above and beyond to make every guest feel welcome. One thing that really stood out to me is seeing the owner actively involved in the restaurant. It's rare to find an owner who not only works on the business but also in the business, personally greeting guests and making sure everyone has a great experience. That level of care shows in every detail. If you're looking for a place to host a birthday, family gathering, private party, or even a wedding celebration, they also offer catering and private events and will make sure everything is taken care of. Great time at Baran tonight as I met some new friends, played bingo for a great cause, and had some delicious Mediterranean food for dinner. We enjoyed plenty of space in their huge dining room and side bar area and had tasty lamb, Baran salads, samosas, hummus, baklava, fruity drinks, and delicious Dubai chocolate. Came here on Mother's Day with a large family group and they did a great job accommodating everyone. Even with the holiday crowd, service was friendly, attentive, and food came out pretty quickly. We ordered the family meal, which gave us a chance to try a variety of dishes. The portions were generous and there was plenty of food for the table. The meats were decent overall, but nothing really stood out for me. The salad was okay and the soup wasn't my favorite. The biggest positive was the service. Overall, a solid experience! Mediterranean food isn't usually my first choice, but my client wanted to give this place a try. The food was good, though a bit on the pricey side. We started with wings and hummus, both were decent, but the wings were not for sharing, the hummus was good. For lunch I had the Juicy Chicken, it was good, but not $30 good. My colleague ordered the salmon and loved it, but the rice wasn't her favorite. My manager and client both got the beef and chicken combo, and both were happy with it. The highlight of the visit was definitely the service, our server was super friendly and welcoming, and the support staff was great. The beef shish kebab was pretty hard without good flavor and so were the chicken and beef koobideh. My friend took me here for a late birthday lunch because it had been on my bookmark list for a while. The restaurant is in a strip mall. From the photos online, the interior looked nice, and in person it is pleasant, but there are clear signs of wear. The seats had stains and could have been cleaned better, which took away from the atmosphere. We ordered two appetizers: gheymeh, ghormeh sabzi and fesanjan tadig. On the side we had a small salad shirazi and a small maast moosir (garlic yogurt). Both sides tasted fine but the portions were very small for the price. When our plates arrived, we both noticed immediately how overly hard the tadig was. Tadig should be crispy, but this was far too hard to enjoy. We mentioned it to the waitress, who was kind and understanding, but the man who seemed to be the manager responded in a combative tone. He said, "Well tadig is crispy," and I replied, "I'm Persian, I know, but this is overly crispy." They replaced it, and the second one was much better. The flavors overall were okay, not amazing, and the prices felt high considering the experience and the portion sizes. If you are in the area it's worth a stop, but set your expectations accordingly. read more

We really wanted to like this place, but in some ways it just missed the mark for us. Starting with the positives - the ambiance was very nice. The food left something to be desired. The flavor was just kind of okay. We got the chicken shish kabobs and while it was very juicy for breast, it just lacked in flavor. Even the garlic sauce paired with it didn't pack much of a punch and we drowned most of our food in the sauce to make up for the chicken. My husband also ordered the spicy version of his chicken only for us to find that it came with a side of Tapatio sauce. Not any special house made spicy marinade, just straight up store brand Tapatio which we thought was a little hilarious and crazy that this was the "spicy" option. My husband also requested bread to go with his meal and it came out cold to the touch which was a little disappointing. Our table was also really wobbly, which when we told them about it they were very quick to resolve it but not long after it went back to being wobbly again. Which isn't a major thing just may be something they should fix before sitting other guests there. Overall we had a nice time and felt very cared for and attended to, but as far as the food I can't say we're eager to return for more.
