    Falafel on pita with everything
    Mike M.

Great falafel in a pita pocket. Nobody has these flavors anymore. This place is awesome.

A friend introduced me to this place a few weeks ago, and I've been hooked ever since. Although it's a fast casual restaurant, it definitely should not be overlooked. They serve up some delicious food and at a more than reasonable price point. I ordered a chicken thigh over rice with a side of tres leches cake. The chicken thigh was tender and juicy and it had a nice smoky aroma from the char of the grill. I even enjoyed the rice as it was soft and had a nice flavor of its own. Each dish came with a side salad as well, which was a nice pairing with the meal. The dessert was good also tasty as the cake was moist, but did not fall apart. I would've preferred the sweet glaze on top to be a little less thick as it was quite hard to spread. My friend ordered a burger which was tasty as well. We both ordered the large size for our dishes and the portion size was huge. They each came with two large pieces of chicken thigh over a generous portion of rice and salad. They have plenty of seating inside as well as a bathroom, which is nice.

Great Shwarma and Falafel in Astoria ! The chicken thighs are so tender and the falafel are light, crispy and perfectly seasoned. They catered a big office lunch and the food was hot and delicious. Homemade hummus and babaganoush are delicious! They're right downstairs from the Ditmars Blvd train station .

This is a solid recommendation in the Astoria area. Great, shwama! My girlfriend loves this place. I've only been here a couple of times, and she could live off all their halal dishes, and it is a must for her in my neighborhood. When we visited earlier this year, we ordered some of their lamb and chicken pita sandwiches . This halal establishment has been around for decades and is very popular. It was one of the first halal fast-food restaurants to open in Ditmars. Overall, it is an excellent recommendation.

I usually get my falafel from King Of Falafel at the corner of Ditmars and 31st, but I decided to try out Shawarmania, which is very conveniently located right outside of the Astoria-Ditmars Blvd (N) station. They take Apple Pay and are quick to prepare your food. I ordered a falafel pita ($8) which came with pickled turnips, pickles, and tons of salad. The falafel was a little crumbly but it was very moist and well flavored. The store space is narrow but has plenty of seating should you decide to dine-in. However, I did notice a majority of people ordered takeout.

Wow this place really hit the spot for me tonight. I was starving and my train kept getting delayed and this was the first place I was off the N train at the last stop. Such a good deal for a large amount of food. $13 and I got a ton of beef and salad. Yum! The white sauce is also so tasty. I'm happy with this choice. I'm glad they're open late. Thank you!

The food here was amazing I did a catering order for a family event and this restaurant more than delivered. The food was amazing and the service was incredible I can't recommend it enough!!!!

Im so confused. I ordered shwarma from a place called shwarmamania. They served me stewed beef over rice for $13. Came with watered down mayo instead of even tzatziki. Also pickles that were unchewable and other random pickled items. Ruined my night. Also this is dirtier than OJ Simpson crime scene.

Delicious! You must go here, so happy I discovered this gem of a shawarma place in Astoria! Will be returning! There is a lot of competition in this area for shawarma, but have to say this one is a great takeout option if you are looking for something very reasonably priced, flavorful, and filling! Food: I ordered the chicken shwarma pita sandwich and it was so delicious! The chicken is marinated very well and is very juicy and flavorful! The pita itself is also so devoid tasting, I can order more of their pitas! Within the pita comes salad and white sauce, which just accentuate the flavors! I also tried the chicken shawafal rice bowl, which comes with salad, rice, chicken shawarma, pita and falafel. The falafel was pretty good and the platter was very filling and good tasting! The portion sizes are great! You only need one pita sandwich to be full and the medium platter was also very filling! Price: the prices are very reasonable! 2 chicken Shawarma pitas and a chicken shawafel platter was all only $25! Definitely a steal! Ambience: the storefront is not too large! They do not have outdoor seating. Service: very quick service! I called in and ordered and they were ready in 10 minutes

Had the food delivered to my place of work and honestly it was a breath of fresh air. All the staff loved it. The dips were amazing, totally recommend.

Ordered a large platter of the lamb/beef but I think he heard me only say beef. Anyways, the rice was bland, beef was overcooked, dry, and tasteless. That it had to be one of the worst halal platters that I've gotten for $15+ (including tax). I much have rather ordered one from a cart on the street for a fraction of the cost. The veggies were fresh and the portions were large. Came with a warmed soft pita.

Classic to-go spot right by the N/W train. It has like (3) 2-top tables if you want to sit down and chow down real quick. I love all of their stuff - the beef Shawarma, the chicken Shawarma and the falafel. They always have super affordable deals and my go to is the chicken falafel mix on pita for $8. Also, I don't get the white sauce but have them add their in-house tahini and it's so goood. Lastly, their desserts are - my fav is their tres leches. Enjoy!

This is not a shawarma place. More like a chicken sandwich. Hair in the food, bathroom disgusting. Meat gross.

BUT the food is still fantastic! Great Indonesian restaurant with an intriguing menu! This family run restaurant is smallish but can probably seat around 26 people. Probably not ideal for multiple large groups at the same time but we made reservations early, and easily got a reservation for 8ppl. These were our shared menu choices (shared by 4ppl): ~ Salad Daun Teh Hijau $14 (green tea leaf salad w.cabbage, tomatoes, beans & green chillies): tasty Indonesian version of the tea leaf salad! I prefer the Burmese version but this salad was pretty tasty! ~ Nasi Lemak Rendang $17.75 (Beef Rendang w.spicy egg, anchovy, pickles; w.coconut rice): the portion size of beef rendang was very small but this dish was probably not meant for sharing, and more of an individual plate. It was delicious, nonetheless less! The accompaniments were terrific!! ~ Nasi Iga Bakar $22 (BBQ Ribs w.white rice): after seeing an IG video, this particular dish was on our radar! As with most social media, it heightened our expectations but it did not meet those expectations. Don't get me wrong: this was still a delicious dish; just not as great as depicted on those dang videos. lol The ribs could have been cooked a tad bit longer for tenderness but the flavors were great! ~ Nasi Goreng Petai $19 (fried rice w.shrimp & stinky beans): I've never had this dish before and the "stinky beans" weren't Stinky at all! Hahaha The large shrimps in the fried rice were perfect. Tasty dish! ~ Mie Goreng Belacan $17.50 (stir-fried shrimp paste noodles): This was a fave dish amongst the group. So flavorful and satisfying! * Don't sleep on the two hot sauces provided on your condiments tray! The bottle of Sambal Asli hot sauce was great; slightly sweet but spicy! Service and hospitality were great; friendly, welcoming and efficient. I look forward to a return visit to explore their many other menu items!
