Truly the best greek restaurant. Exactly like in Greece. There are always long lines and wait time. Sometimes the wait is over 3 hours!

Famous spot in Astoria with delicious food. If anything I thought the service was a little aloof but the food was fantastic.

We did have to wait a bit for a table but the food was good and atmosphere nice. Beautiful interior I don't think they do reservations

I've only ever been to the Bayside location, so first time at Astoria location. In Astoria, seating is definitely more crowded with chairs blocking space to walk between tables and service is a bit more curt.. but what about the food? I would say food is consistent with their other location. I always like getting their grilled octopus, which is grilled perfectly until it's crispy on the outside and not too chewy. I was a little shocked at the price of the small/medium size branzino ($80), it was good but I wouldn't say $80 good.

We stopped by Taverna Kyclades after a yoga class and had such a great experience! We sat outside, and the vibe was super chill and comfortable perfect for winding down after a workout. We started with the Greek Traditional Salad to share, which was fresh, flavorful, and the perfect start to the meal. For our mains, we had the Salmon Steak (Solomos) and the Chicken Souvlaki, both served with lemon potatoes. Everything was delicious the salmon was perfectly cooked, the chicken was juicy, and those lemon potatoes were amazing! Everything was portioned well. The service was friendly, the food came out quickly, and the whole experience just felt easy and enjoyable. Definitely a great spot if you're craving authentic Greek food and a relaxed atmosphere.

Taveryns Kyclades is very hyped and for a good reason. The service is incredible and every server ive had was attentive and sweet. The octopus and the brazino was perfectly cooked and have amazing flavor. The lamb was so perfectly cooked and the favorite dish of the night. The chicken slouvaki was a bit dry but maybe it was an off night - otherwise the flavor was superb as well. The free dessert was super sweet but I really liked it! (My BF is greek and says that's how its supposed to be LOL.)

Taverna Kyclades honestly exceeded my expectations! We came on a Saturday, late afternoon, and put our name down for 2 people which ended up being a 45min wait. You give them your number and they'll call you when the table is ready! My partner and I opted to get fried calamari and we could taste how fresh it was. Additionally, it was a huge portion for the price which we were very pleasantly surprised about! We also got the special which included a bunch of goodies (shrimp, scallops, lobster tail, classic, crab meat, white fish) and a side of the lemon potatoes. Everything was cooked perfectly, but we agreed the scallops were the best part. We each got a glass of white wine which paired very well with the seafood. The complimentary dessert at the end was nice too! Later in the evening we walked past again and saw that the line to get in/put your name down was much longer - so definitely try to time it appropriately!

Quick Review: Food - Exceptional Service - Above and Beyond Ambiance - taken back to Santorini Detailed Review: Transported back to Santorini for an amazing dinner. Here visiting from California and we definitely do not have a similar place in CA. Upon arrival we were seated at an outdoor table that allowed enough room for our car seat and stroller for our two grandchildren. Our waiter, Vaggeli, was welcoming and very accommodating to all our needs. We ordered several starters and a cook to order whole Red Snapper. We almost ordered an additional whole fish, but our waiter shared it may be too much food. That is something unique with our waiter and the restaurant. They genuinely treat you like family and do not try to upsell you. The food was flavorful, and refreshing. Nothing was overdressed or cooked and the restaurant should be considered for an award. Dishes we tried: Grilled Octopus - Cooked to perfection! Fried Calamari - Not greasy and lightly breaded. Stuffed Clams - Great combo with the stuffed crab. Saganaki - how can you not love cheese?! Assortment of Dips - So many great dips to enjoy with the pita bread. Village Salad - Fresh and lightly dressed Red Snapper - grilled perfectly Lemon Roasted Potatoes - great lemon flavor Rice - perfectly cooked. Everything was cooked to perfection and we loved every single dish. Our meal was finished with a complimentary dessert. Next time we are in town we will be back! Highly recommend this restaurant!!

I went to this restaurant with a group of 5 people. The restaurant looks beautiful with a lot of white and blue color. However, the tables and seats were so close to each other it felt like there isn't enough room. Just be very careful when getting up to use the bathroom, so you don't knock over other people's food. We ordered a total of 7 food items for the table and we were really full. I enjoyed the crab cakes, spinach pie, red snapper, and Greek salad. The octopus was okay because it was a bit too chewy for me. My coworkers enjoyed the lamb chops. Overall, the food was good. One thing that I was a bit disappointed was that our server was expression less and did not check up on us often. Instead, he made me a bit uncomfortable by trying to rush us. There were plenty of seating so I don't know why we were rushed.

Stumbled into Taverna Kyclades with a friend one night for dinner and it was the best thing we did that day!! We got in there right before the dinner rush so we were able to get seated and have our drinks in about 10m. The vibe was very greek with the insides very white and blue and large enough to seat many of peoples. The staff was so welcoming and patient; was able to answer any and all the questions that we had, especially because it was the first time there. They brought out bread and an olive spread that was honestly so tasty. My friend and I had a hard time not eating it all before our app came out. I ordered a Sangria and it was sooo good and a good amount. For the app we had the Octopus and it was grilled/cooked perfectly. Lightly seasoned and fresh. We shared a whole snapper with rice and beets and it all had such good flavor. After your meal they bring out a piece of cake (i cant remember the name) which was so flaky, moist and sweet. I wanted more of it. I loved my experience at Taverna Kyclades and can't wait to go back.

Honestly as close to perfect as it gets! Fantastic food, very attentive service (constant refilling of water is the way to my heart!) & great atmosphere!!! Every single plate that we saw, both on the tables & passing by, looked like they were from a magazine photo shoot. Beautiful presentations, generous portions & everyone around us scoping out the food. We kept comparing notes with the table next to us and we were all amazed! I overate and had to stop myself because everything was so delicious!

Their move and expansion on Ditmars Boulevard was a massive improvement. The soul of the kitchen didn't get lost in the extra square footage; instead, the chaotic sidewalk scramble has been replaced by a much smarter, vastly improved layout. Make no mistake, the lines still form and the room still buzzes with heavy energy, but the experience is entirely elevated. The food remains exceptional, a lesson in Mediterranean-Egyptian execution. The grilled shrimp carries a beautiful, smoky kiss from the fire, and the scallops are pristine, sweet, and perfectly seared. But the real heavy hitters are the giant prawns--and a rich, nutty tahini served with warm bread that acts as the ultimate anchor for the table. It's a spectacular, unpretentious feast where the ingredients do all the heavy lifting. Food (4.75/5): Elite tier. The ability to choose your own raw seafood and have it perfectly dialed in to order is unmatched. The prawns, scallops, and grilled shrimp are flawless, and that tahini is a MUST. A very helpful woman behind the counter guided us through the seafood selections and clearly explained the different preparation options. The food absolutely delivered. The grilled calamari (their style) was excellent, and the octopus was perfectly cooked, so much so that my picky toddler ended up eating almost half of it. The space was very clean, and the overall vibe was immaculate. Definitely coming back here again.

The ones we had been to in the past usually allows you to also pick different type of cooking style or seasoning but this place only cooks it their way. It's good for people who are indecisive but disappointing for people who want variety of flavor. They usually have a section of appetizers and drinks you can order on a separate menu as well. The staffs were very low energies when we visited on a weekend night. The overall ambiance and interaction made us feel a little uncomfortable. We ordered: - eggplant dip - fries - Greek salad (large) - cooked fish - calamari - octopus Honestly I was so disappointed with the food. It didn't taste as fresh and was overall too salty. The eggplant dip had a weird taste. Friend fries were not as crispy and unevenly distributed portions of salt. The calamari was nothing special. The fish was okay, and the octopus was so salty we actually sent back the dish. It was very difficult to enjoy it. The staff was so accommodating and actually took the dish off our bill. (Thank you!! - great customer service!). My favorite item was probably the Greek salad, but then again it's hard to mess up a salad. I would say this is my least favorite counter order style seafood restaurant in Astoria. My friend said great things about it prior to my visit and I really wish I would have liked it.

Recommendations- Bastilla/Pastilla, Tagines, Zaalouk. Grilled platters are alright. On a side note, some dishes, similar to other Moroccan places, such as couscous, are only available on weekends. As per many of my recent reviews, I was at this Moroccan spot a good while ago, with our host having heard about it prior to the place being featured in the NYT Top 100 as well as on TasteBuds, a highly recommended Instagram/TikTok account. The woman who helped us, whom I believe was one of the owners, was very friendly, and the place inside was casual and decently busy, especially for how far away it is from the subway. The food was overall very tasty, with a particularly good bastilla/pastilla, among everything else, and I can see why this restaurant has gotten so much publicity. My preference of the two appetizers was the $7.99 Zaalouk, or eggplant cooked in tomato sauce and marinated with charmoula. The dish reminded me a bit of Egyptian-style moussaka due to the mix, though less tomato-focused and more about the sweet eggplant. The chermoula was very light, with a hint of sourness and spice. Overall, this was delicious, especially with the bread. The other appetizer was the Moroccan Carrot for $6, which was a mix of sliced carrots with a spicy chermoula. Of everything we ordered, this was the least favorite dish of the night, as the cold carrots lacked much flavor, as there was a lack of chermoula flavor, just like with the eggplant. Best of the dishes was the $12.99 Chicken Bastilla, or Pastilla, listed as a traditional Moroccan pie stuffed with chicken strips, crushed almonds, and dusted with icing sugar and cinnamon. A lot of people might find this sweet and savory combination odd, but I have gotten used to it, and this was a very good version. The chicken was well-spiced, the pie was flaky, and it wasn't overly sweet. The previous place, which had the best version, was the long-closed La Shuk in Harlem, and this is better, though I do want to compare it to the other popular Moroccan spot in Astoria, Siham. Second favorite was the Lamb Tajine, or Tagine, With Prunes for $22, consisting of slow cooked meat with prunes, dried apricots, roasted almonds, and sesame, and served with rice. The lamb inside was very tender and fell off the bone. I liked the roasted almonds and sesame as the bit of nuttiness helped with the overall sweetness of the dish. We also liked this dish, and it paired particularly well with the rice. My preference from the grilled section was the $16.99 Merguez, listed as Moroccan merguez grilled over charcoal, and served with rice. The dish came with many pieces of sausage, which had a slight spicy kick and a bit of a snap. For the same price, there was also the Grilled Lamb, or tender lamb with a choice of rice or fries. The lamb was pretty flavorful, but some pieces were a bit overcooked. It was good, though, but not as notable. The fries on the side were a mixed bag, with some being crispy and some a bit soft, so between the two, I would recommend the rice more. While I didn't love the grilled platters, the rest of the dishes were delicious. Combine that with the friendly service, and we had a very good time. I wouldn't mind going back and trying again, though this might also be because I want to have more of their bastilla.

Dar Lbahja was phenomenal from start to finish. We tried the lamb tagine, beef tajia, beef tagine…read morewith vegetables, and the chicken tagine, and every single dish delivered. The portions were generous, the meat was consistently tender, and everything was packed with rich, comforting flavor. This is the kind of food that really sticks with you. Even though we ordered to-go, the experience stood out. The staff treated us incredibly well during the wait and even offered complimentary Moroccan mint tea and bread. For a brief moment, it genuinely felt like a glimpse into Moroccan hospitality. I do not rave about places often, but this is absolutely one I would recommend to others without hesitation.
