For each move or round in the workout, Lindsay showed us three different levels of modifications, and made it a point to come around and correct my form or encourage me when I was hitting that mental wall. I hate when instructors or coaches yell at you in front of the class, so Lindsay's calming presence made me feel comfortable and like she really cared to ensure I wouldn't hurt myself due to being new to a lot of the movements we did. After my class, there was no high pressure sales pitch, just assurance that their manager would follow up via email to see how everything went. Sure enough, Bri sent me an email by the time I got home with all the information needed to join. Again no high pressure sales just simply information on next steps in joining. I was able to sign up online in under 5 minutes. I'm really excited to have finally found a gym in Puyallup that has a good community, kind yet challenging instructors, and workouts to help you meet your goals. At LA Fitness in Puyallup, Manager Sabrina makes every visit feel welcoming and worthwhile. Recently, it was her birthday, and not only did her staff celebrate her, but clients like myself joined in by decorating her desk area with flowers, candy, and heartfelt touches. That alone says a lot about the kind of person she is. Sabrina goes above and beyond every day to make the gym both beneficial and fun. I've seen her participate in different classes so she can speak knowledgeably and honestly about them. I've watched her walk through the locker rooms with staff to ensure the facility stays clean and well cared for. She even spends her own money on thoughtful extras, like decorating mirrors with positive, uplifting, and motivating messages. Most importantly, Sabrina always has a smile on her face, and everyone knows her desk is open -- whether you want to ask about personal training, equipment, the facility, or simply share a story and a laugh. Sabrina truly adds value, not just to LA Fitness, but to the entire community she helps create there.

Every staff member I've interacted with has been friendly, helpful, and genuinely invested in seeing people succeed and achieve their goals. For anyone bringing guests, just know that the first time they visit, they'll need to sign liability forms--which makes total sense to me. The gym has no way of knowing if someone might hurt themselves, and it's standard practice (or should be). One of the best things about this location is the late afternoon staff. They're always really friendly and make an effort to get to know the regulars. There are quite a few of us who work out there around the same time every day, and it's cool that they actually know our names and recognize our routines. It makes the environment feel a lot more welcoming. I've also seen some reviews mentioning a smell, but that honestly hasn't been my experience at all. The staff is constantly cleaning, and I regularly see them wiping down equipment and maintaining the gym. Everything always smells perfectly normal and clean when I'm there. Another big plus -- we just got a bunch of brand-new equipment about a week ago. It's been really fun trying out the new machines and being able to mix up my workouts a bit. The only thing I'd change isn't really specific to this location, but more of a Planet Fitness policy overall. I really wish they would add InBody scanners or at least a scale for members who want to use one. Their whole "no judgment" philosophy sometimes gets in the way of things that members actually ask for. For example, I'm currently paying an additional $30 a month for a membership at another gym just so I can access an InBody scanner, which feels unnecessary when Planet Fitness could easily provide something like that. I've also heard other members ask about it. That said, this location itself is great. The staff is friendly, the gym is clean, the equipment is new, and it's a place I'm happy to keep coming back to almost every day.

Misleading sales tactics and terrible customer service…read more I came in for a free pass I saw advertised and was pressured into signing up after being told I could cancel and get some money back if it didn't work out. That was not true. When I tried to cancel, I was told I missed a 3-day window that was never disclosed--and I was even blocked from canceling sooner because they don't process cancellations on weekends. Staff was rude, dismissive, and took zero accountability. After reading other reviews, it looks like this is a pattern. I've escalated this and will be filing formal complaints if it's not resolved. Be careful--get everything in writing. Especially all you new NWFIT members. Careeeeful
