As an older athlete, my body has had its share of abuse and seen numerous injuries over the past +30 years of ultrarunning and I thought as I approached my 70th birthday my running days were coming to an end. My back had been my weakest link physically and I figured stiffness and chronic pain was the payback for all that running along with all those years. Shawn came highly recommended and I initially went to him knowing I had much to gain if he could help and only a few dollars to loose if he couldn't. Working with Shawn has been an extremely positive experience both physically and spiritually. I first found Shawn's practice when I lived in Sedona, AZ and was working through pain and imbalances related to my scoliosis. As a professional trail/mountain runner, I need my body to be in top shape and my scoliosis was creating a cascade of minor issues. I spent over 30 years in the medical field and during that time, I suffered (and tolerated) from upper back/shoulder pain due to repetitive motions. In addition to that, I recently developed cervical radiculopathy. I was in so much pain! I respectfully now call Shawn my favorite sacred shamanic bodyworker as he is definitely tapped into a higher power that moves through him. Not only did he significantly reduce my SI joint and psoas issues in 2 sessions, but through his guided and highly trained healing hands, he precisely found the areas in my body where the pain and repressed emotions were stuck. He started out the session creating a safe and loving space, reminding me I was protected, loved and already whole. As a woman with a history of sexual and other traumas, indeed I felt very safe with him within a very short time of meeting him.
