The staff is always friendly and helpful. They even offer a free birthday scoop. If you go, try the peach cobbler because it is amazing. This place was pretty average when it comes to ice cream. I order the banana pudding ice cream and it more live vanilla wafers. It didn't have the nostalgic banana pudding taste. I also ordered the caramel cheesecake ice cream and it was pretty good. Aside from ice cream this establishment does sell peach cobbler, which is amazing I must say. The service was pretty standard. I started something that's a problem. That's getting ice cream from here. Absolutely 10/10! All I can say is you can get anything here and it's probably more than you can dream of. I tried the Jamaican Rum Raisin and it knocked my socks off and transported me to the land of Irie. This ice cream is rich rich rich. The variety of flavors is nice too. I was told recently they are starting a flavor of the month . Now there's incentive to come back to see what's being offered. There's also delicious peach cobbler which of course begs to be topped with a creamy homemade vanilla or flavor of your choice. The shop is small and quaint. Best ice cream parlor in the area! Stopped here with my brother and nephew for a treat at the end of a long afternoon. Staff were helpful in letting us sample a couple flavors before making our selections. I chose a lemon ice cream, and my nephew got a cobbler a la mode (vanilla ice cream). Both flavors were rich, cool and creamy. We chose to relax inside and dine in, which was fun with the smattering of games on different tables like connect four, checkers, and jenga. Price point is a bit on the higher side, but everything tasted fantastic. I couldn't afford to come here regularly, but it's always a treat when I do. bright, large space with unique flavors. we came at 7:57 not knowing they close at 8, but they were still happy to serve us even tho they had put away their ice cream. menu with flavors were displayed on large TV screens, but they weren't very clear and kept switching, making it hard to see all of your options. I got the tease, which was the smallest one, for 7.99. they allowed me to get two different scoops, so I got midnight mirage and cookies and creme. the c&c was very good, but I wouldn't have gotten the MM if I knew it would come with caramel. took away from the flavor and tasted artificial. overall, I wish they had an even smaller option, as the tease was still too big, and the price point isn't appealing. it would also be nice if they had outdoor seating. read more

Been here twice and the customer service was great both times. It's very clean inside as well. The bourbon butter pecan ice cream was superb and so was the banana pudding. My only gripe was that there was a teaspoon of pudding and a container full of cookies. The little bit of pudding that I received was some of the best I've had. The peach cobbler was also good. Definitely worth a visit if you haven't tried them yet. read more

Like I said, good ice cream and nice staff but $7.99 for the smallest advertised cup seemed very pricey to me - I would've gotten a smaller serving but the menu didn't show anything smaller than a tease which was apparently 2 scoops tho it didn't explain it. I also found it frustrating that it closes at 8 - something people are still wrapping up dinner around then. Not only is that annoying as a customer but seems like a missed opportunity as a business. The location itself is cute inside and maybe it was just because I arrived late, but no seating outside was a bit of a bummer. I am glad that Shawn Michelle's is now in Flossmoor instead of the city...since now I only have a 10 minute drive (vs. 40 minutes). What I like best about what they officer is their peach cobbler. Definitely tastes homemade and has a good flavor. They also sell poundcake made by Sweet Love that is my absolute favorite poundcake. I've tried several of their ice cream flavors, but honestly, I would rather have basic Baskin and Robbins instead. The prices are actually pretty high...with tax, one small piece of cake is around $6; their shakes are almost $10; and for a two scoop sundae, almost $13. That's expensive from my perspective. So...I'd definitely recommend stopping by to try them...and go with the peach cobbler and poundcake. read more

They don't have vegan options. Many restaurants offer options and then get rid of them because the inventory doesn't move as fast. They offered vegan peach cobbler and a couple of their popular flavors were offered as vegan but then all of a sudden they stopped carrying them. It was very disappointing. They have great service and great offerings but unfortunately vegans are not catered to . Beautiful restaurant as well. read more

I really wanted to like this place but I Love it! As a regular ice cream eater, Shawn Michelle's has now replaced the other places I frequent. Since it's a soft opening I am waiting patiently for the full experience. I was forewarned from others who have gone to the Chicago location that it was good but I still felt unprepared. My husband got the banana pudding- stuck my spoon in. I had the butter cookie. Both were fantastic! Not too sweet, very creamy and packed to go very well. Staff was friendly as well. They also have games inside that you can play while you eat your ice-cream such as chess, checkers, connect 4, and jenga. Sometimes they play music inside.
