Highly recommend any of their frozen custards, sundaes, concretes, or parfaits (Italian ice served on top of vanilla frozen custard; only available in the summertime). Every day they have vanilla, chocolate, and a 3rd rotating frozen custard flavor, as well as a rotating concrete (think McFlurry or Blizzard). Each day during the summer, they also have 1 Italian ice flavor available. Expect a line, especially in the evenings on hot days. Honestly hands down one of the best vanilla custards I've had by far. The service was great! They were fast and had our orders taken and items given within a few minutes. There are very few seats for indoor dining but we were fine with that since we were heading out after getting our goods. We did go during busy ice cream hours on a Sunday as well. Before moving to Lakeview, my partner and I spent eight years in Printer's Row. We loved the neighborhood, but always lamented the lack of good dessert options. Our only options were a shady Baskin Robbins and a shady Dairy Queen. Devil Dawgs has some great shakes though. But now that we live around the corner from Scooter's, the game has changed. And it's dangerous. Like many frozen custard spots, they only have a few standard flavors (vanilla and chocolate), a rotating daily special, then a variety of sundaes and concretes where they can mix in whatever you want. Everything is great, but I swear something about their chocolate chips are next level. If you see Cappuccino Buzz or Mint Chocolate Chip on the menu, I highly recommend them. Service is great, and they even have hot dogs which I need to try someday. The giant crowds at their sidewalk window on a warm day is proof enough that Scooter's is worth a stop. read more
