Cute quaint vintage throwback. Came here to catch up with a college friend. Love that this is open late! Great alternative to a bar. We were both craving something sweet. The homeade fudge was delicious. Ice cream was simple and nothing special but overall decent sundae with generous portions.

Margie's Candies is a famous desert joint in Chicago that has been around for 100+ years, so I decided to check it out. The inside of the shop has a diner theme which is very cool. I ordered the Turtle Sundae and my friend got a peanut butter shake. Both were great! It does take quite a while for them to make it, probably around 20 minutes when busy, so keep that in mind. It is also definitely more of a place for an occasional treat; quite expensive. So I'd save it special occasions

The inside of the restaurant had cool old fashioned ice cream parlor look and decor. The line was out the door for both to go orders and for a table. However, it was worth the wait. Our group got a turtle sundae and shakes. They were delicious! Our favorite shake was the peanut butter. The workers were very nice and efficient, especially given the amount of customers. They also gave us wafers with our ice cream, which was a fun addition.

I've been here before when I was younger, but my boyfriend hasn't so I wanted to bring him. Immediately when we walked in, there was a gross and sour smell. The inside was humid as well, which I think made it stronger. I really wanted ice cream though, so we got on the waitlist for a table. Our waitress was very blunt. When she brought us the ice cream, she just dropped it on the table, turned around, and left. The ice cream itself was great. It was busy inside, so I think this is a place to just order and take your ice cream or food to go.

Perfectly perfect. The homemade caramel apples are better than anywhere in the city more crisp and fresh. The ice cream options are so creamy and old school it takes you back in time to childhood. Once you're inside calories don't exist.

I went here with the promise of a one scoop sundae with the best hot fudge and freshly whipped cream I will ever taste and boy, was that correct. The staff was very helpful even though we were a larger party and it was the BEST hot fudge and whipped cream I have ever eaten. Margie Poulos's wish was that nothing in the restaurant be changed so walking in was like going back in time 5 decades. We got to see the infamous booth where the Beatles sat for sweet treats, the mirror booth where The Bear filmed, and just enjoy a time when life seemed simpler. The ambiance was refreshing! I got a bag of treats to share--a rum ball, Turtles with fresh nuts, caramels, etc. I haven't eaten any yet, but I am sure they are going to be as wonderful as everything else we tasted today!

This place is so legit. The ice cream is incredible. Vibes are 10/10 and everything is really affordable. Definitely be prepared to wait for 30-45 but so worth it.

It's really hard to mess up dessert. I mean, it's sugar. And, margie's didn't mess anything up. But, we weren't blown away. The nail in the coffin for me was when they unwrapped our cookie and popped it in a microwave. In any case, the interior is cool and you can certainly tell the big bright lights bring the tourists in. But, the product wasn't elite. We didn't even finish our sundae. The pricing was fair, and it tasted fine. I mean, it was an ice cream sundae with a cookie. But, the ice cream seemed like i could grab it from the grocery store. The workers were nice and working super hard given how busy it was. Props to them

Last stop on our food tour and it was worth the wait! We enjoyed delish hot fudge sundaes and they were so good. I am not a fudge person but their fudge was a good consistency and wasn't too bitter. It was perfectly bold and light on the palate. It was is adorable little ice cream parlor and I look forward to coming back

Absolutely in awe of this place. It's such an old -timey, old fashioned type of dessert parlor. Yes they're known for their iconic ice cream (sundaes, splits, specialties, etc) but they also have tons of other treats you can buy like chocolate covered Oreos, pretzel rods, marshmallows, etc. It is a small place inside so it can get tight and that's probably why there's sometime lines and a wait later in the day, especially on weekends. We got the jumbo turtle sundae which came with caramel, pecans, whipped cream, and their legendary fudge. I figured it was going to be a good sundae, but I did NOT think it would blow me away. This was DANG GOOD!!! Like, miraculously delicious. The fudge is the best thing I've ever tasted, plus they had the best caramel I've ever tried. I cannot wait to come here and try their other sundaes and splits!

Margie's Candies is a timeless gem. The old-school vibe, generous sundaes, and rich homemade hot fudge make it a must-visit. Their ice cream and candy are always fresh and delicious. A perfect spot for a sweet treat and a bit of nostalgia! The brownie Sundae was warmed to perfection and went along so well with the ice cream!

The hot fudge banana split was so good! We got pistachio, strawberry, and praline. we got there around nine/ten and it was about a 30 minute wait to be seated. The interior is pretty tight.

Old school. They put me on to the ice cream soda- thanks for that gang. Cool interior. The menu is expansive. Would go back for sure.
